don't worry i don't want the same album over and over, but viva la vida is far from being a decent record. i'm ok with trying different things, but they are taking the wrong road imo...

Just try to listen X&Y and Viva La Vida back to back...and you can see the difference.

These are not bad songs at all, to me these songs are filler because are too far from their style...i mean, wasted hours (and the first song of the album) sounds too much like Wilco...a band that i love, but i just don't like to listen to the arcade fire with the wilco's style. These songs are too "country". Month of may is a nice song and Deep Blue maybe will grow on me. But why don't we talk about the best guitar parts of the album ? Here we have some of their best material to date, songs like Suburban War,Halflight 2,Ready to start,Modern Man and City with no children in it are up with their best songs from Funeral and Neon Bible. Think about the guitar chords of Suburban war....or the amazing "in your face" bass of City with no children in it, i fucking love this record!

Brian Eno is ruining Coldplay's music Too bad he's working with them even on the new album. He's turning them into a world music band,when they are MORE....MUCH MORE than that. Now almost every song (with eno behind their back) must be weird, irregular....we can say goodbye to the old good coldplay if they continue to work with him.

Personally I don't want to compare this record with the previous ones, because I think it's just a natural progression of the band's sound. But I can say that is not inferior
