Clocks :: The Meaning
Does anyone know the meaning behind Clocks? Up until today, I thought the line "Shoot an apple off my head" was "Shouldn't I pull off my head". It really sounds like both. Anyway -- this is *my* interpretation of it. I think it's all a reference to God. Lights go out and I can't be saved This is referring to mankind being in darkness because of our own sin. Tides that I try to swim against/ Have brought me down upon my knees No matter how hard we try, we cannot obtain salvation by ourselves. Oh, I beg, I beg and plead This expresses the knowledge of the fact that mankind has fallen and the request for forgiveness. Come out of things unsaid Maybe this refers to "the Devil"s lies and tricks? Shoot an apple off my head You got me here. Trouble that can't be named, tigers waiting to be tamed His sin has gotten out of control and he needs forgiveness from God. You are The most noticeable reference to God -- the Bible states that God is the "I Am" -- so he's singing it back to God, reaffirming with "You are". Nothing else compares Self explanatory. Confusion never stops, closing walls and ticking clocks Even when he thinks he's safe, "the Devil"s attacks and lies still come after him. Come back and take you home, I could not stop, that you now know No clue here, fellas -- any help? Come out upon my seas, curse missed opportunities Perhaps referring to how many times he's been oblivious to God's love before?? A part of the cure, or am I part of the disease Is he living the life that God demands or is he giving "Christians" a bad name? Ok so I know it's a stretch. But help me out here -- I'm trying to justify it to my pastor to play it in church... and if I can back up every line of the song, it might work.

Oh yeah -- I won't be at the computer, but I have my computer already set to automatically accept file transfers. So don't IM me -- just send the files if you please. I'll love you forever.

Ah crap. Well my computer keeps freezing on rapidshare. Could someone who has a few of the videos zip them up (and compress) and then IM me on AIM? My screen name is twistedlogic149. I'd greatly appreciate it, as I want something to remember this concert by.

SHARE YOUR COLDPLAY EXPERIENCE!!!
Most definitely. "Fix You" and "The Scientist" tear me to pieces every time I hear them. The Scientist has special meaning to me and a few of my close friends. I'd rather not discuss why it's so significant here on the forum... but it just is. Fix You is very, very emotional for my best friend because when his parents split up, this is sorta the song that he listened to. So many nights were spent with me listening to this song and just crying for him and his family (whom I am very close to -- they're basicaly my second family). We have a reason to cry. Now at the concert? I will admit during the performance of the Scientist (both in Raleigh & Bristow) I got teary eyed. Actually... in Raleigh I got teary eyed during the ending to Politik as well... and in Bristow, a few stray tears rolled down my cheek during the Scientist. Overall, the Raleigh concert was more of a "bonding" experience because all of us were there, it was our first Coldplay concert, and we were all so overtaken by the majesty of it all. It's been a month and a half since the concert, and we're still talking about it. Seeing them live was an experience that *literally* changed my life. I don't know why and I don't know that I can explain how -- just after the concert, I had a newfound love and respect for two of my best friends. That night, I did a lot of thinking, and I just realized how much I *do* love those two and how much they mean to me. Now... that was all really sissy in some of your eyes. Probably "queer" in others... but just grow up. Guys are allowed to have close relationships without being homosexual. If you have not seen Coldplay Live, then you really don't know what you are missing.

Raleigh show Setlist and tiny review ....
Well -- it won't be for awhile. I'll eventually get the Raleigh videos back up. I actually made a DVD with all the videos/pics I had of all the songs at the concert. It was pretty sweet. Well... I didn't make it... my friend did... but I sorta gave him the stuff. He's the one with Final Cut Express

Idea when Spring 2006 US dates go on sale?
My birthday is in January too! They just *have* to come back to VA, NC, or SC. I personally think coming to Charlotte or Raleigh again would be the best choice. I'll suffocate if I don't see them live again... it's now an addiction. I'm going for Pit Tix this time.

Anymore good fanfics?
I'm bored and was wondering if any good CP fanfic sites were still floating around? I just got done reading that "Careful Where You Stand" fanfic... just wanted to read some more.

Whoa. I do feel like that. Green Eyes was incredible.

Heaven and Hell???
Alot of people think that the entire album of "A Rush of Blood to the Head" has religious lyrics. It makes sense when you think about it. For example, the chorus to Clocks just says "You are". The article claimed this was related to God speaking of Himself in the Bible and saying "I am". The bridge says "Nothing else compares" over and over. Pretty strange stuff... but could be true, especially considering Chris's father is a minister.

Nissan Set List
I was blown away by Green Eyes. They shortened it a bit, but the fact that Chris had once said that we wouldn't perform Green Eyes live anymore, and then did for that last US show, is amazing. I have a few crap pics from my crap camera. I hope we get some pics... or better yet, I hope someone recorded the show. Trouble blew me away... Speed of Sound was considerably better than the Raleigh concert... everything worked. Did anyone else beside me love it at the end when Chris came out for Swallowed in the Sea, and one of the tech guys had put flowers on the piano (I guess to celebrate for the end of the US tour) and Chris was like "What is this? We're a rock band for fuck's sake... we like drugs and women!" Then he threw the flowers to Jonny and said "Here Jon, they're yours. No really. Your name is on 'em.... oh wow, we've fucked up our last encore. Okay, y'kno what, I'm going to walk offstage and do this again, the right way." Chris walked offstage, walked back on to a *roar* from the crowd... then walked over to Jonny, took his flowers back, and began playing again. Another highlight -- right after Yellow, when Chris took the stray balloon that landed on stage and just spiked it at someone in the crowd.

Concert -- probably the best of the tour. Crowd -- sucked arse.

2 MORE DAYS!
Let me tell you -- this will probably be the best experience you've ever had :). I saw Coldplay in Raleigh three weeks ago, and I'm still buzzing about it. I'm heading up to Bristow again this weekend to see 'em live yet again, on their last US Concert. As for the program information... I'm interested in what is inside of it as well.

The Scientist Spoof
Anyone got the Scientist spoof from Mad TV? I missed it -- saw the Speed of Sound spoof and I was rolling.

This Fan Fic!
Truthfully -- whoever wrote that has a good grasp on what certain friendships are like between a few guys in the world... even if she did take it a bit too far with the whole "We're an item" part. Me and my best friend are close... but I mean... not like "OMG I WANT TO MOLEST HIM" close like C/J are in that story. However.. the first chapter or two are all emotions that I've had to go through before.

T-shirts...
I ordered a Coldplay "Twisted Logic Tour 2005" sweatshirt from the shop, but for my t-shirt I wanted to get a "Make Trade Fair" t-shirt. I live in the States, and the only place I see to buy MTF tees are at the maketradefair.org site... however, the shop is all in pounds, not dollars. What can I do?
-
Note to anyone going to Bristow...
Cameras are allowed at Coldplay concerts. At least they were in Raleigh.
-
What did chris say in Politik at your concert?
In Raleigh he said something like... "Carolina is the key... Send your love to New Orleans..." Couldn't quite make out the first line, but my friend swears that's what he said.

Note to anyone going to Bristow...
For anyone here going to Bristow that will be sitting in the 200s, 100s, or the pit.... PLEASE TAKE VIDEO/PICS. Just a small request from me.
