  1. They released Lovers in Japan without Reign of Love.
  2. jc90 replied to AMDB9's topic in Up&Up
hmm, to get back on topic for a second, someone brought up that Up&Up is an emotional song. But I myself don't really see how the bike riding will work its way into it. Perhaps some sort of slow-mo riding with a lens flair or something?
  3. Hold your horses, we gotta release U&U first!
  4. I guess I just got lucky myself in the way I can still relate to the new stuff. But I think you described it well when you used the word betrayal or abandoned. Perhaps not quite that strong, but towards that area.
  5. I've heard you talk about this before, and its what I assumed you meant when you brought up the BMX bikes. But I didn't want to put words in your mouth. Y'know, I had a moment the other day when I was listening to Politik after not having heard it in a while. I used to listen to it on repeat for hours. But after years of doing this, I had to stop, as the effect slowly wore off, like most other drugs. This particular evening though, I put my cans on and turned it to 11. And you know what, I got that same feeling again, just like the first time, and it brought me to near tears like it did maybe a decade ago. And I thought, maybe I am an oldplayer myself afterall. It's without a doubt in my mind the pinnacle of what Coldplay have ever put out. I tell that story so I can tell you this one next. The day AOAL came out, I was due for work. However, the song was being played on radio somewhere in Europe for the first time, so I think 3:00 am local time for me. But I woke up at 2:00 am and waiting for the song to come on, recorded it on my computer, put it in my usb stick so I could listen to it in my car on my commute to work and back. I started off the playlist with AOAL. When it ended, I pressed back to hear it again. And again. And again. When I got to work, I had to wait for the song to finish before I got out the car an hour later. When I left work, I did the same thing on the way back. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Coldplay are so good because they can produce the achey-breaky song and it will touch you the same way the crazy-dance-party song can as well. Of course this is all my opinion. But I know oldplayers long for the return of the achey-breaky stuff. Sometimes I do too, like I did when I heard Politik again. But to take it out on the crowd that likes the dance songs is unfair to them, and unfair to the band. They've given 4+ years worth of those songs to us already. Now, they're giving the other side what they want, and I don't see an problem with that, even if I do secretly want AROBTTH II. Even if I prefer the earlier works, I see the value in the new stuff as well. Look, if you're waiting for Coldplay to score another Politik, you may be in for a long wait. Not because the band are worse (imo), but just because Politik is such a hard song to follow up. We can't keep comparing the best of the past to the worst of today. You're always gonna be disappointed this way.
  6. Okay, thats great that youre not offended. I mean, I don't like that video myself (the song is fine), but I dont plan on ever watching it again anyways, so its whatever.... But i'm still having a hard time grasping what the issue is with BMX bikes. Is it with how the band should 'act their age' and ride Vespas instead or something? I agree we should always wait for the final product first, but if anyone's expecting this to be some sort of Spielberg production, perhaps Coldplay is the wrong band to follow if you want great MVs on a consistent basis. At this point, I just hope they don't embarrass themselves (see AOAL, True Love, etc) and I dont think they'll be doing that by riding around on a BMX bikes.
  7. Don't you think it's at least a bit ironic how you seem to pass over an elderly woman doing aerobics yet have a massive issue with a sub 40 year old band riding bikes? And no, I don't think your point will speak for itself once we see the video. I dont have an issue with BMX bikes or BMX bikers. I don't have an issue with pretty colours. I'm just not buying this argument whatsoever. And believe me when I say, I'm one of the biggest naysayers when it comes to Coldplay's MVs.
  8. Rick just said he wasn't trying to take away from the earlier videos man...I dont think anyone hates those videos.
  9. The Hardest Part video (which had old folks in it) = good The band riding BMX bikes (which you seem to be saying only teenagers should do) = bad OLDplaying indeed. Anywho, I dont think anyone really has/had issue with the The Scientist MV or Yellow. I think we're just arguing for the sake of arguing now. But really, Coldplay haven't ever really been a strong MV producing band, so I don't even care at this point.
  10. Yikes I've seen this happen where the puck is bouncing. But not when the puck is flat on the ice (and in the playoffs!)
  11. Ahh, thanks for that. Yeah, i'm definitely willing to spend that much for the reasons I gave above. So now the issue is do I wanna go in the pits or not. 'Cause now i hear that sitting a bit higher up off the floor, off to the side is also a good spot to see the band as well as the background lights / atmosphere....what do...
  12. Can anyone give me an estimate as to how pricey/crazy its getting? Hoping to catch a show when they get to Toronto and i'm willing to go all out. I'm a working adult who doesn't really spend a whole lot any anything really, so if it costs $200 I might just do it.
  13. Yeah, just jump in anywhere really. Great thing about coldplaying is that we have a thread for just about everything. Oldplaying, newplaying, and everything in between. We're trying to fix a little rift between them two atm, but things are looking sunnier lately!
  14. Dont jinx us plz. Either way, seems like we have a lot of picks coming up. Something like, 2 firsts, seconds, thirds and fourths! So anywho, in a field on 12 of my friends, I finished 2nd in my hockey pool. But I had last overall pick, so i'm feeling alright about it.
  15. What position did the Avs finish in? You guys get a good pick at least?
  16. not on the app, sorry. maybe someone else can try?

  18. So, Fear is never gonna replace the main show, but its on right now, and its not too bad. Its just refreshing to see a different group, at a different time handle walkers. Also interested to see Kirkman and Co answer the fan theories about how groups handle the situation by being on a boat.

  20. WE DID IT, WE'RE THE WORST, WOOOOOO!
  21. ^ ditto, same question. When they eventually announce Toronto, I'll be asking then as well (depending on the exact venue). Should I go all out and get the floor? Or should I go for the side for a fuller view?
  22. Because KFC is yum? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  23. Well, if they were ever to build a Kentucky Fried Chicken arena, I guess it would be in Kentucky....
  24. Can we talk about this arena name please?
