  1. Have you actually confirmed that? Because I was thinking it, but don't have a pair handy at the moment.
  2. I don't feel like quoting 10 messages of people who don't understand the video, so I'll stick with just one. But seriously, what are you basing the comment that "it was the worst video you've ever seen!" on? Are you watching the video? Like actually watching it. Looking past the B-movie style to see that everything that is happening is symbolic of the meaning of the song. Think while you watch. I've tried to explain the video in a small amount of space but I can't do it justice. I could write 10 pages on it. It's brilliant. Fix You, and Speed of Sound were not good videos. Chris Martin walking around until he gets to a concert has nothing to do with the song Fix You. The guys playing in front of a giant equalizer has nothing to do with Speed of Sound. Ya, the pretty lights were entertaining for a minute, but the video had no point. This video on the other hand, is exactly what the song is about. And it's told in a quirky, fun, and extremely creative way with the B-movie feel. Outer space is the only setting that I can think of for this video, and I don't know if it would be as meaningful if it was filmed from a very serious perspective. (Chris and the guys on the international space station? Idunno.) So for those of you who dislike it, try watching it, and try to understand it. I can assure you it's very meaningful, and quite symbolic. Anton Corbjin is a creative genius. I should really right a definitive guide to understanding this video. Oh, and another thing, for those of you who were dissapointed, a month ago Corbjin said to the public, "Well, it is black and white, and slightly strange, as is often the way in my videos, I guess. It will have a certain B-movie feel to it, but I cannot say more than this for now." So, it seems to live up to exactly what he told you it was going to be.
  3. This is one of the best shots:
  4. Looks pretty good to me actually. I was impressed. I tried it in low bandwidth as well as high, and while naturally high looks better, low looked pretty good too.
  5. I think it's great. A much needed change for a band who's videos were getting pretty bland. I love the cheesy b-movie feel, it makes it all a very lighthearted, fun, entertaining video to watch. Shows that Coldplay has a wierd, crazy, fun side too. Although if you watch closely the video may look cheap and B grade, but lyrically it all all coincides, and the events on screen makes sense with the words and meaning of the song. And I'm sure there were influences from Kraftwerk. All in all, as a film student, I will say it is my favourite Coldplay video to date.

You can pick them up on eBay.

I think the creamy white looks cool. If the single ended up looking like these UK promo discs I wouldn't be upset (and it would explain the current colour of the site):
  8. Is this the Kool Haus show that you're referring to? If so, it's been broadcast several times, on Much Music and other stations. The DVD of it is also available in a few places online. Great show though, they covered The Arcade Fire at one point.
  9. Not nearly as many people have professinal (I assume that we are referring to Digital SLR photography equipment) equipment as point and shoot cameras. And if you have access to professional equipment, it's likely that you have access to amateur equipment somewhere as well.
  10. Actually Coldplay allows (at least to every major show that I've been to) non-professional photography equipment to be brought in, so you don't need to hide your point and shoot camera. Security won't say anything.
  11. I've been around for a little while, but I don't think I've ever posted in this thread. Hi to everyone though. I'm 18, from Canada. Big fan of Coldplay and pretty much anything else from the UK. Not sure what to say, but I'll see everyone around.
  12. Guys, this is just a tip from personal experience, but don't bother with the Ticketmaster site, or the phone for shows like Coldplay. Not if you want good seats. Get up, and go to a Ticketmaster outlet. Especially if you live in Toronto. The people first in line at the outlets get floor seats every time, I can assure you that, because it's been me. Second person in Line always gets 100's, then it's a free for all for 300 level tickets (I'm using Toronto shows as an example, but adjust it for your venue). If you stick around for a few minutes you'll always end up with at least a pair of seats. You can be out by the time some people even get in to the website. Plus, if you don't get first in line, be friendly, and ask whoever did to get you a pair of tickets too (unless they plan to buy 8) and pay them cash on the spot (I always bring cash). You'll end up with floors and it'll be worth it. I've sold tickets for their face value (to the last Toronto show) on the spot to people who were friendly while waiting in line (they were 18th row floor seats). So, in summary, go to a Ticketmaster outlet, there's less a chance you'll be dissapointed. Plus you'll have your tickets in your hand before you even pay for them. It's a better experience. I was sixth in line and got 4 tickets in the 300's today. I gave the two 4th row floor seats that I got in the presale to my girlfriend and her friend.

I have it in open type (.otf) not true type (.ttf) form. If you're system supports open type, PM me, and I'll share it. It's a commercial, copyrighted font, so posting it here would generally not be a good idea.

I have Albertus, but I use open type fonts (not .ttf). If you're sure you're PC (unless you have a mac, which supports it for sure) supports open type fonts I'll share it. Although it's generally a commercial font so PM me if you need it.
  15. Quick comic I made.
  16. The passwords were unique for each lottery winner. They were good only for the venue and number of seats they were requested for. And they could only be used once. You couldn't share them.
  17. In the last presale you could reject the first seats offered to you. This one seems to be run quite differently though, so I'm not sure. From the sounds of the email it would seem that your seats are already chosen for you, you just need to go and pay for them, but that doesn't seem practical in that someone may want 49 dollar tickets as opposed to 89 dollar tickets...floors vs. stands, etc. So I'm guessing that you are able to at least pick the price range/section that you'd like your seats to be in.
  18. Loading times in the other gallery are kinda lengthy, this one for web viewing only will probably run a lot smoother on most systems. http://syrus.fxpscene.com/misc/cpsimpleviewerlowres/ (Pics are from Darien Lake show.)

  20. I'm downloading it now. 123 megabytes off of meaguploads isn't fast. It's at 25%. Do you mind if I host it when it's done? What did you record it with by the way?
  21. Where's the audio? If you get it to me I'll host it on a high speed webserver for free.

Professional photography equipment wasn't aloud, so I brought my Canon Powershot A80, 3.2 megapixels.
