The album is growing on me, but only because I'm giving it a chance. When it leaked, I listened to the songs once and then forgot about them. Were it any other band I wouldn't have bothered going back. But I have and am growing to like some of the songs. The problem is, they've been away for a while and the musical climate has changed around them. Which is obviously not their fault and nothing to do with them. As I;m sure a lot of you are, I'm listening to different music now from what I was, say 5 years ago. But i do love a melody and if there's anyone who can pull off a good melody it's young Mr Martin! So i'm going to give it a few more listens if only because I feel i've put so much time, effort and money into being a coldplay fan that I'm not giving up on them as easily as I would with just any old band. The image I had of the new album is not how it turned out but I'll just need to get over that.

^ PS I've been sick all week so my friend went out and bought a copy for me and gave it to me as a surprise get well present :D How nice?

It was a tough interview. The guy wasn't letting Chris away with stuff that other interviewers might have done. And actually, all credit to him for that....however I do think he was being a bit of a dick at some points! lol He clearly hadn't listened to the album, was assuming things from the album title and seemed to forget he was interviewing 2 young guys who like to have a laugh about things and not answer serious questions. I would blame whoever set up the day of interviews for them. It's clearly a bad marketing strategy. Chris doesn't really help the situation though. Given the number of interviews he's had to do in his time, surely that wasn't the worst and he could have stuck it out for the 2 or 3 more minutes that were remaining. BUT I wasn't there and like some of you have said, we don't know what has been edited out!

to all the winners - FUCK YOU! only joking, hope you have a great time and whatever you do, despite whatever the security people may tell you...make sure you get cameras in there ;0)

I hope so. Every album so far has strangely coincided with significant moments in my life: Parachutes, going to uni. AROBTTH, my grandpa dying, X&Y, my parents getting divorced....but there's not much going on right now :laugh3: Apart from the fact that I've been ill for the past week. I think maybe that's something to do with it. When I'm feeling better maybe I'll feel better about VLV ;)

I agree with you my dear. I saw an old picture of them the other day. From uni or something. And they just look so...ordinary...but in a good way! That's what I always liked about them. I don't want to see any costumes or stage clothes. I want to see the 4 of them on stage, jeans and t shirts, just playing some fucking good music! It's weird because I've seen muse a few times and their stage shows are just so over the top but still AWESOME. I would expect nothing less of them, but I would like less from Coldplay...if that makes sense? Is now a good time to say that having listened to it all, I'm not really a fan of VLV? :\

They should do a free gig for Coldplayers only ;) But on a weekend and with a good few weeks notice!! lol
