Most of the guitar parts in the studio version are EXACTLY the same as the live version.... and I mean exactly. Is JB that good a guitarist that he can perfectly replicate the sound of a studio produced lead guitar? I wonder..... Oh.. and I like the song.

It is also understood that festival fodder Coldplay and Elbow are on the bill. Along with these three names, in a recent interview with a Street Press Australia magazine, Noah & The Whale were asked if the rumours that they were playing the festival were true. “I couldn’t possibly comment, but we do aim to come out to Australia very soon, so keep your eyes peeled,” the interview subject said. Pulp announced that they would be reforming for 2011 dates in November last year. The Jarvis Cocker fronted band have already been confirmed to play Scotland’s T In The Park Festival as well as Spain’s Primavera. Coldplay, meanwhile are currently recording, with the new album expected for the Australian spring. It is likely a new single will be released prior to their Splendour visit. Elbow had revealed their intentions to tour this July in interviews and then a TV advertisement, while other heavily rumoured acts include The Vaccines, who’ve been reported across a range of media and The Kills.

Well... it's happened. I can't handle listening to this band anymore. I thought if I took a few months off, I'd put them on one day and the feelings would come flooding back.. but it hasn't been the case. And I know now, that it won't be the case. I was there from the beginning, when Shiver came on Rage at 2am in late 1999, i went straight out to buy Parachutes the next morning. In the following 10 years, i went on their websites daily, bought every single, downloaded every show I could find, no matter how bad the sound quality... I've seen them live 9 times, in 3 different states, met the band.. I've done it all! X&Y was bad. Really bad... But every band blows out every now and then. I was willing to over look this. Things seemed to be on the right track heading into Viva, but the constant mentions of U2, and the endless comparisons to them began to wear me down. Coldplay are becoming the commercial machine that U2 already are. bringing Brian Eno on board hardly helped here. I wanted Coldplay to do their own thing... not follow in U2's footsteps .. not try to be the 'next' U2. They've become a band for teenage girls to fawn over (see most of the thread titles in this section for evidence). I liked Viva, I still do.... but then I realised the outrageous amount of pre-recorded instruments and vocals used in the live shows... Chris dancing around instead of playing an instrument. Lovers in Japan, blatant pre recorded keys all the way through it. Fix You... 'tears stream down your face'.. pre recorded vocals. Viva la Vida... almost the whole song. 42... almost the whole song. All this was the final straw. That was over 12 months ago now (that i saw them last) and I still never think to put them on. I've enjoyed my time supporting this band... Parachutes and Rush of Blood are part of the soundtrack to my late teens. I'm sure I'll still keep an ear out for new stuff, but it seems I've outgrown this band. I know there are a few people around this forum who understand, and I know there's loads of you who won't understand at all... and will get your backs up about anything negative I've said... but that's the nature of a forum. Thanks for having me Codplay... and Coldplaying... I hope you all enjoy what this band offers you in the future.

The last 5 or so pages is another thing thats changed about Coldplay. They once had a cool forum on which you could have constructive music discussions. Now its just full of over sensitive 16 year old girls, talking about how cute Chris's hair is and talking about their Coldplay dreams. It's cringeful stuff, and the very reason I dont bother joining in discussions anymore

I really like the music throughout the whole song... as has been said.. the lyrics are another story. Comes off really well live as well... the 'boom boom boom' after 'you thought you might be a ghost... even if it is pre recorded. Was this the song C.M. talked up before the album was released.. comparing it to Paranoid Android?

thanks for the support... I was expecting to get roasted... lots of people here dont seem to be able to have a mature conversation about something negative relating to the band... how many 'if you dont like them, fuck off' posts are there in this thread?

I havent read through the whole topic, and it may have been said before, but my major problem with modern day Coldplay is how often they use pre-recorded music during their shows... They're talanted musicians.... why cant they just play it? Putting on a 'big show' has become more important than the music.. which is very sad to see. Why use pre-recorded piano in Lovers in Japan while Chris Martin just runs around? Why cant he play it?
