  1. Just scored a ticket! I'm excited. Now to see if I can get off work early on the 7th. Eeek.
  2. That is an internal way for ticketmaster to keep track.
  3. Yeah, once so there is hope. Meanwhile, I will be glad I have unlimited texting trying to win tix to the 2/8 show.
  4. Yeah, they do sometimes release more tickets closer to the date. Tickets are through 1iota. Kimmel gets pretty darn good musical guests. http://www.1iota.com/show/view/Jimmy_Kimmel_Live
  5. Dammit. I didn't even see that until now. I love those shows. I live so close too.
  6. Just a reminder for those with no tickets. 98.7 in LA is doing a text to win contest starting today through Sunday. You text the word given each hour to 22987. Here's a cheat sheet with all the words. http://www.987fm.com/pages/coldplay.html?article=9632579
  7. Definitely select GA Standing to try for the $100 ticket. Best Available will always look for the more expensive ticket first.
  8. I'm still confused on the 2 GAs, but I'm guessing the $300 GA will be closer somehow?
  9. For those trying to win. 98.7 in LA is doing a text to win contest this weekend. Link with information: http://www.987fm.com/pages/coldplay.html
  10. They've fixed it! Now my friend and her husband are both going! I'm way to excited for them. I will continue my attempts at winning tickets for myself.
  11. You're going to Coachella too? That's exactly why I can't afford these tix. And I know that 98.7 is giving away tix to this via text.
  12. I think you are getting the same error I am. Try to save that reference number and maybe the customer service folks will be kind?
  13. At my friend's request I pulled one more GA Pit and now I'm getting an error when trying to purchase. Ugh. Stupid Ticketmaster. ETA: I pulled it again, and same damn error! Ugh. Now, I'm worried it went through and they have like 3 charges on their card. Eeek.
  14. I pulled the GA Pit which was the $300. Took a few tries to get it. What's the difference between the GA Standing and GA Pit? I'd assume the Pit is closer?
  15. I pulled a GA for my friend! I'm nearly as excited as I would be for buying my own tickets! He's a HUGE fan.
  16. I really, really want to go. But I just spent money on Coachella, so I really shouldn't
  17. They do have the regular park and ride for big events like this. It's just up to the promoters to do it. I've used it before for Leased Events.
  18. Corkus speaks the truth, parking is insane. Park and Ride is great, you can even do it from Hollywood and Highland. Another thing to remember is traffic is equally bad. The 101 is the worst freeway ever and the fact that these shows are on weeknights is going to make things worse. Also, if the Dodgers are in town that week it will be worse. The moral of the story is get there early, like before the opener early. It normally takes 25 to 30 minutes to get from Hollywood and Highland inside the venue. I'm taking a half day and public transit. The red line is great for this venue.
  19. I'm going to try my luck with the venue presale. Had an awful time with the last KROQ presale I tried. Although, if I can find someone with an Amex that would be ideal.
  20. I love that you can bring a picnic to the Bowl. However, for leased events, like this one, they don't let you bring your own booze. Grrr. Oh and they also frown upon cameras, so you will need to conceal them. The ticket range is normally very wide, so hopefully you'll see $150 to $30. The Clinton Foundation concert was the last I was at and that was $50, but it was for charity. For Incubus, I was in the first level after the box seats and the tix were $90.
  21. My favorite concerts were the U2 shows I was on the rail for. Nothing like being up close. Those tickets cost $65 and we had to wait 12 hours in line. It was completely worth it. I get why Pearl Jam doesn't do GA anymore, but it's frustrating when bands do GA in other countries but not the US.
  22. I don't understand why they still do seated floors. Most of the other big acts do GA, U2, Foo Fighters, Muse.
  23. I'm happy with the venue. Given that the tickets are on the pricey side and that at arenas it's a seated floor, the Hollywood Bowl works best. The cheap seats there are still great. I saw the Clinton Foundation concert from the back of the bowl and it sounded great. And if you want to be closer, it's easier to see given the way it's set up. As for additional shows, it's hard to say. There are still rumors of a Coachella headline date, so if that happens, there would be no more shows until they do a 2nd leg.
  24. Here is a ticket buying secret. Have a friend/relative outside of the LA area buy your tickets in person at a ticketmaster location. I have had my mom do this for me, and it works every time. Got U2 that way, and The Killers.
