I bought Dear Science today.

...I am mega jealous. I can't seem to find Radiohead vinyls anywhere. In the last month, I have bought the following: Glasvegas - Glasvegas The Blizzards - Domino Effect Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night Cold War Kids - Loyalty To Loyalty Metronomy - Nights Out Elbow - Asleep In The Back Elbow - Cast Of Thousands Dartz - The Sad History Of The Village Of Alnerique Fight Like Apes - Fight Like Apes And The Mystery Of The Golden Medallion

Right. New single. It's good. Not great. A bit cheesy. It is a grower though. I still think The Killers have it in them to produce a brilliant album. Hot Fuss started strong (those first five tracks are still amazing), but it fell off towards the end, and was only saved by Believe Me Natalie. Sam's Town, well, that was a close one. I preferred it to Hot Fuss, still do, but Uncle Jonny and My List aren't all that great. B-side material. Now, Day And Age looks promising. Hopefully they've done a Bloc Party and released the worst song on the album as the lead single (á la Mercury). Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll? We'll see. I do believe that this isn't the popular opinion. Am I gonna get lynched now? :P But seriously, Sam's Town > Hot Fuss. And I don't see why more people agree.

I think I prefer it the other way round (like with Dear Science) where an album gradually gathers momentum and has a strong finish (I mean, Love Dog -> Shout Me Out -> DLZ -> Lover's Day? Get in there.). Can I think of any more examples? Hmmmmmm. Viva La Vida? At least for me. It's a solid album, but it definitely does pick up after Chinese Sleep Chant.

ANYWAYS-NESS. Back on topic. This album is brilliant, but I cannot get over DLZ. It is just so good, and I think the rest of the album suffers for it. Those first three songs are pretty great though.

There are, like, seven (!) albums out next month that I'm buying. That is quite an amount. Although I've already mentioned two on my (updated) list. EDIT: You finally managed to separate those then Dave? :D

Hmm, yeah, I think I might do the same. It is going to look well cluttered up there in December if I don't.

A note on The Corrections' Repeat After Me. It has not been officially released yet (due to label shenanigans) but promos have been in circulation for about three months now. Will we allow it? There'll be at least a four-way tie at the top come December for me.
