  1. Oh good, another one! 1) Has he not seen a TV? Or put on a radio? If he has, he will have seen an iTunes ad with 'his' song on or heard some DJ playing it for the 1000th time...it's hardly like Viva la Vida hasn't been in the public domain, therefore the touring point = useless. 2) Never taken drugs in my life, thanks very much. 12 year olds taking drugs, indeed :D 3) Yes, by calling it plagarism and saying that Viva la Vida incorporating "substantial original portions" of Satch's song he is alleging that Coldplay have copied him. How can you even think otherwise, you complete and utter moron...
  2. Hi-fives to FixYou319, this is my point. To call all Coldplay fans 12 year old fanboys is insulting, misinformed, and has fuck all to do with whose music is better.
  3. Coldplay's first actual album was released in 2000, love. Go back to Wikipedia and check those facts. I was 14...I was also not a boy. 14 year olds can have taste in music, your point is mute. You are a zealot who refuses to believe that any music other than that which you like is valid and that makes your points meaningless to me...do you not understand that even if I was a young teen when I first started listening to Coldplay, that I'm not now? And that, when I went to see Coldplay a week ago, there were people of all ages there...people that were well over 12 and probably older than you when Coldplay first released any music. We're talking 50s and 60s, mate. You made out that 12 year olds were their only fans NOW...idiot, make your mind up! I know Joe Satriani. I also know that I don't like Joe Satriani, and that the video you posted bores the shit out of me. Coldplay do not. That is a personal taste, which you are not going to change with your misinformed trolling. Please go back to whatever trolling hole it is that you came from and stop needlessly pissing us off by asking us to ask 1 million people if they've heard of Jonny Buckland. Each of their albums has gone double or triple platinum in the US alone. Platinum, in the US, means 1 million records. So even if only half the people who have bought a Coldplay record in the US know their guitarist's name, that's still a million in one country...you can't state that more people will know Joe Satriani just because you like him more. Why don't you go out and ask those 1 million right now yourself. By the time you've finished I might care about the result.
  4. Hi Satchfan, I'm 22 and a woman. Coldplay's guitarist is called Johnny Buckland. Get back to me when you can post without stereotyping an entire fanbase.
  5. Hmm...they're definitely similar, but so are 11 other tracks (if we're to believe Chris), so it's obviously just a popular melody. Is that plagarism? I don't think so, but non-Coldplay fans seem to, so unless this judge is a huge Coldplay fan, Satriani's going to get paid...that saddens me, because to be completely honest, I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to rip off a track and then have it as the title track on their album, do you? And even if they were, to then say "Here, iTunes, make it so my plagerisee has no choice but to have this song rammed down his throat every one of a thousand times it accompanies an advert of my band dancing around, that will just be a big up yours to Joe Satriani, yes, lets do that..." would just be idiotic. But obviously I'm going to say that, aren't I? Nobody's going to think I'm without bias, but why would he bother, think about it? They're successful enough without Viva la Vida, they already had three albums that sold very well, it's not like there's any doubt from their fans in their songwriting abilities, so why try to pilfer from some guitarist half their fans have never heard of and therefore probably wouldn't even like? (I had heard of him, but can't say I'm a big fan, even of the song Coldplay are meant to have ripped off!). Just...don't base your opinion on that comparison video. The melody of the Coldplay song has been altered, I actually just played them both together to be sure and they ARE different, the one in the video is higher to make it sound more like Satriani. I would post the comparison of the two but it's proper grating...
  6. Hmm, the Concert stage on the Wembley website that's linked from the Coldplay page there is different. It's a 'west end' stage, so if you get seated at the West end I'd have thought that would be closeish. Not arena closeish but as close as I'm going to get with my aversion to being stomped on...I'd forgotten about Foo Fighters, a mate of mine who went said the acoustics there were really bad and this worries me because I don't want to see Coldplay and them be shit because of something like that, it would make me very sad...
  7. I would have loved them to do that or Rainy Day...but they still seem to be avoiding EP stuff :( Well, unless you count Postcards and LIJ Osaka Sun whatsit (there were wooooahhhs in the version I saw at Sheffield that aren't on the original but are on Osaka Sun so I'm assuming that's what was going on there).
  8. I'm just bitter because they chose the gig I went to to stick to the setlist and then they give nice surprises to everyone else. Well yes, we got Trouble but *stomps* I waaaant Green Eyes!
  9. If I go, I'll be seated, I can't do standing :( I wish I could though! Is seatedness really THAT far if I were to get ones right up from the stage? I'll be clickering right from 9.30am (got ace seats for Sheffield that way, I was refreshing my arse off I tell you) but if they're fffaaaarrr there's no point :( :( :(
  10. It will have been Back for Good again, they've done that on at least 2 dates that I'm aware of. If she's surprised she's obviously blissfully unaware of Chris Martin's desire to make himself a bigamist by marrying Gary Barlow and making beautiful tuneful children.
  11. I took my camera and nobody said anything. I didn't see anyone being searched. Call the box office if you're worried, but I think these days with camera phones being so good it would be unfair to stop those with cameras taking photos but not confiscate the phones that nigh on everyone there will have...
  12. Oh come on people, after Jon Hopkins and his bizarre music/videos/self you would think we'd be happy to get some halfway decent support...you are going to be paying the same price as an arena gig to see two very successful bands...Mr. Martin's two for the price of one theme continues, and you complain about it? He's just helping out in the credit crunch, innit?
  13. We were to the right hand side of the arena, couldn't have asked for much better, my pictures don't do it justice! Sitting at my laptop that morning sooo long ago refreshing and refreshing totally paid off :D
  14. We got Trouble! I'm happy about that, at least we got something, I can't stomach The Hardest Part these days without thinking of that old woman doing acrobatics! Hehehe.
  15. I was, Block 118 Row J Seat 12. I was just where the B stage was on the first tier, I've put some videos and pictures in the Sheffield thread. I want to go again now!
  16. I have officially fallen out with Chris Martin, Green Eyes is my second favourite Coldplay song ever >:(
  17. Jon Hopkins is supporting them for the whole UK tour, I think. God knows why...someone must have just got entranced by those bizarre videos! And yep, LiT II, I heard it from a guy who just got back from the NIA...he said "LiTII was a perfect way to end". If it's true I am simultaneously excited (because it's a lovely song and I was singing the lyrics to it over regular LiT on Saturday anyway) and annoyed because they didn't give us Yorkshirefolk anything new!
  18. Just heard a whisper they played LIT II at the end, true?!
  19. Oh my God, you were next to my one of the people from my work, she told me that story!
  20. Hehehe, the people infront of me were in their sixties and my friend from work took her Mum...but I didn't pay attention, I was too busy loving it, I'd lost my voice this morning!
