I think there was probably an element of boredom. Imagine constantly being asked why your music is morbid when that's what you've been specifically trying to avoid for 3 years! It's like the interviewer was trying to piss all over the 'colourful' vibe that the guys have been talking about, trying to say that it's all black and white and boring like some percieve the previous three to be...he's wrong, of course, some parts of the album are so cheerful I can barely believe it's them! I hope this passes without the tabloids picking it up, really, because it's so not Chris' fault and he's going to look like a right twat.

I'm glad this has come out because hopefully it means The Sun won't come out with a 'Stroppy Chris' headline tomorrow in the Bizarre Column. I think it shows the real him. Ohhhh no....surely they can't blame him? The interviewer is Alan Partridge on crack ffs! All he said was he didn't like it, they can't blame him for humility. Any bollocks about storming out just isn't right, he's just uncomfortable with the spotlight and it isn't fair to pick on him for that.

I think a lotta people are saying that there's only a gatefold version...I got mine on pre-order off play and there's no option for anything other than gatefold, but it was the same price as a normal album :)

It is worth it, so so much. Getting up today and seeing the package had come was like Christmas. It just wouldn't have been the same if I'd already metaphorically peeked under the wrapping by downloading the leak!

See, you say you want the old sound back...but I see elements of all three other albums in Viva la Vida. It's still there, you just have to look for it. For example, I'm listening to Reign of Love right now (I think, track numbering confuses me) and to me, it sounds so Swallowed in the Sea like that I think people carping on about how 'it's not Coldplay' is utterly ludicrous. Of course they're not the same, if they wrote the same song 10 more times then they'd be branded rip-offs. Chillax, mate, give it a few more listens and you'll see that they're not Lost! (Hahaha Coldplay pun, I win at life).

It's mental, but I love it. Not the centrepiece they were all talking about though...
