It sounds like one of those movies where even if people didn't like it, they still had a very strong reaction to it, which is what I'm interested in more than anything else in a movie.

Good. :D Also, me not bitching about how Ed Belfour is a big fat spoiled crybaby counts as you "getting" something from me. :P

Has anybody seen this movie? (or even heard of it :rolleyes: ) I want to see it so badly because the reviews of it have been really interesting, and the only other Lars von Trier movie I've seen was amazing. But it can't seem to find a release in Philadelphia. :angry:

Most people probably haven't heard of this movie, but if you have a chance to see it, and you don't mind reading subtitles for two hours, it is VERY very good. It's about gang warfare in the streets of Rio de Janiero, and was filmed there using many amateur actors and actresses who actually grew up in the slums there. Anyway, it's sad and it's tragic, but it's also a reminder of how well off even the poorest Americans are compared to these people.

oh man. i saw enough stupid, bitchy, catty girls in high school to not want to revisit that, even if it is intended to be humorous. :rolleyes:

i have a thing against the fact that every other movie trailer i see is for some three hour movie with huge battle scenes with a hundred thousand computer animated soldiers that make me feel like i'm watching a cartoon. :P
