  5. The Clash - Rock The Casbah
  6. this is random but when I went to the local supermarket earlier today, Wish You Were Here was playing on a radio. That seemed totally bizarre and it kind of made me angry: you're not supposed to play Pink Floyd as a background music! I know it was the radio but still in a way it felt like a background music. I wanted to go and turn the volume up and say to people: listen! Ok I'm making no sense, sorry. it's probably because lately i've been reading a book about Pink Floyd, about Syd and about that song as well.. so nowadays when I hear Wish You Were Here I almost break into tears. and yes, people have different ways of listening to music and some people might play certain bands merely as a background music at home too, but imo Pink Floyd requires more attention. It's too damn good to be there on the background!
  7. The Clash - The Call Up
  8. There's an incredible 'feeling' and 'presence' when he plays, like you said. I'm no expert when it comes to playing the guitar, so I have to admit I don't know anything about the technical side. But I do believe he is very talented and he could develop his technical skills if he wanted to. But clearly that's not so important to him and in a way I think the way he plays is exactly how it should be for Muse (that sounded bit strange but you know what I mean!) For me, it's the 'feeling' that matters. ;) Here's the setlist from last night (Nottingham 17.11.) 1. Take A Bow 2. Starlight 3. Supermassive Black Hole 4. Map of the Problematique 5. A Soldier's Poem 6. Invincible 7. Assassin (extended) 8. Exo-Politics 9. City of Delusion 10. Hoodoo 11. Knights of Cydonia + Bliss balloons Encore 12. Sunburn 13. Newborn 14. Plug In Baby 15. Hysteria 16. Time Is Running Out 17. Stockholm Syndrome :stunned: they played BH&R in its entirety! at least one thing's for sure; you'll never know what kind of setlist they're going to play for any gig, it could be anything!
  9. Happy birthday! :)
  10. The Postal Service - We Will Become Silhouettes
  11. I took piano lessons too but I never had the patience to practice so I quit.. Matt didn't take piano lessons, his parents let him play as much as he wanted and what he wanted. So he just played for fun. If I say he is talented it seems like it's an understatement of the century. That sort of talent must be very rare. Still he's very modest about his playing skills. Here's an extranct of an interview for a Finnish music magazine (and this is my translation so if there're some sort of strange words and grammar mistakes they're mine:D) "I don't think I'm a very good rock guitarist, but with piano I can play some things that might sound complicated. I don't practice technical stuff with any instrument. So I don't knowingly or consistently improve my technical skills. But it's still nice that there's enough skill in our band so that we can do more than just the usual stuff. If you want to do something that is different, it's good to have a command of your instrument." That's one of the reasons I love Muse.. they do something which isn't ordinary or conventional. There're some people I know who are not Muse fans but still appreciate the talent and skill they have.
  12. This song has been stuck on my head for days now.. Not a bad thing really, since I love the song. ;) Sadly this is not live, the only live version I could find was not a very good quality so thought I'd post this one.
  13. That is a very good setlist, the only thing I'd change is to replace Invincible with CE. But since this is a tour to promote BH&R, it's understandable why they want to play as many songs from the new album as possible. And maybe I'd put Starlight and New Born the other way around, New Born would be excellent as an opener of the encore. But still, this is an excellent setlist. And since they're always amazing live, it's no matter what they play, it's still good. haha I'd love to have seen Matt throw that megaphone towards Dom, glad it didn't hit him though. The other night Matt broke one of his guitars too (I'm not exactly sure if he broke it or if it just broke..) Lots of stuff gets broken these days apparently. These pics are from Glasgow gig (November 7)
  14. thought I'd just quickly check if there were new posts here and wow... Julie you are a pic posting legend! those photos are amazing... :wideeyed::nice: thank you!

  18. I'm a bit upset too.. maybe it would help to post some more pics? ;)
  19. hmm who said spam is bad? Matt spam is gooood :wideeyed: thankies
  20. ^ suppose when it's Matt's we're talking about, anything is possible.. :D the only good bit in that add is the song.. I'm surprised Muse actually agreed to that add..
  21. I'm sure it'll be amazing to see them, gig or festival.. I'm trying very hard not to be jealous of all you seeing Muse and I'm failing miserably..:( but at the same time I'm happy for you, so very mixed emotions :\:D still hoping they'll do another European tour next year.. unless they're totally exhausted after all the touring they're doing now. but still, fingers crossed! oh and thinking how they've all grown up and are so well-behaved these days (or so it seems at least), it was fun to watch some old Matt craziness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHQ7JzxXM24 at times it's just :stunned: and then at times :laugh3:
  22. Muse - In Your World
