Arrrgh, how can ANYONE not like Don't Panic?!! :stunned: It is wonderful, especially Chris's singing the word 'BEAUTIFUL' so, mmm, well, beautifully (most people would sing it in an American way, ie. 'beaudiful') But my least favourite is definitely A Whisper. I have tried and tried to like it, but have given up and now always spin it on. Well, nothing's perfect in this life is it, not even Coldplay?

Why do I like Guy best? Oh, just because he happens to be without doubt the most exquisitely desirable and irresistably sexy man I have even seen. Because of his dark hair and soulful eyes. Because he is the quiet guy in the band - shy, profound yet highly articulate, intelligent, thoughtful, sensitive - the adjectives just go on a mile. I think you could get lost in him, like in a deep pool, and never get tired of discovering new things about him. Still waters and all that. :wink3: Quite simply, he is beautiful. From the moment I wake to the moment I sleep I'll be there by your side just you try and stop me... (I wish..!) :(
  3. No, Fix You is not my favourite but it is my second. My first is what no one else seems to like, and that is What If? But then, I love Coldplay best when they are at their most melancholy, and as I have said in previous posts of mine, the words and melody of this gorgeous track suit my mood ATM because my husband is cheating on me. What better words can there be for a betrayed wife than, What if you should decide That you don't want me there by your side? That you don't want me there in your life? They just help me so much, particularly when I see my husband squirm with guilt when he sees the effect they have on me!!
  4. Yes, I quite agree with the author of this thread that Parachutes is by far the best album. Just couldn't believe the results of the poll (surely it is wrong?) which show it be the LEAST favourite. With tracks like Yellow, Shiver, Spies, Sparks, Don't Panic and Trouble on??? :stunned: AROBTTH is my least favourite album as although I love Clocks, The Scientist and In My Place, I really don't like several tracks, particularly GPASUYF, Daylight and A Whisper. This is the only CD where I spin tracks on. To me, this album doesn't have the Coldplay 'feel' somehow - it's too 'folky' and sounds more like the band are trying to copy Bob Dylan and other 60s and 70s artistes. Just not original, pure Coldplay like Parachutes and X and Y. Well, that's my view anyway, for what it's worth! I actually wasn't sure about X and Y when I first heard it, but it has grown on me and I am totally hooked now, especially with What If?, Speed of Sound and Fix You. I find that when I listen to some of the tracks on Rush of Blood, it's as if they just sort of skate over the top of me, whereas those on Parachutes and X and Y get right under my skin. :) "Nothing else compares" (Oh, that's from Rush of Blood of course - oh well, just shows that all Coldplay's stuff is brill)
  5. Argggh, I knew I was going to cause trouble with this one! :( Please forgive me all. Perhaps I need educating. I will punish myself by listening to particularly High Speed and A Whisper (the ones I really don't like) ten times in a row. And then reward myself for that by listening to some of the least liked songs that I don't understand how ANYONE can dislike (Spies, Sparks, Fix You, In My Place, What If?) Well, we can't all be the same. And I didn't mean any harm, honest. To me, this is only like saying, 'I loved my Christmas dinner, but I liked the sprouts less than the turkey and sausages and roast potatoes) :)
  6. Am I reading these results right??? That Guy has only got 8% of the votes? I can only assume this is because he is the quiet man of the band - serious, profound, shy. But he is utterly delectable; absolutely beautiful. I can understand that perhaps Chris is more attractive overall, but for sheer gorgeousness, Guy just surpasses any man I have ever seen. Come on ladies, try to take your eyes off Chris for a few minutes (granted, not easy!) and give some appreciation to the 'dark' man of the band. You know what they say - still rivers run deep. I would bet a night with Guy would cause SPARKS and reveal surprisingly wonderful secrets... ;) "I promise you this, I’ll always look out for you" :)
  7. Goodness, aren't we all different! I adore Spies, and especially Sparks. They are two of my favourites.
  8. Oh shame on me for even suggesting that there are a few (but only a few!) Coldplay songs which I spin on when listening to my CDs! :o But just interested to know what other people think. Funnily enough, my least favourites are almost all on A Rush of Blood to the Head. To me, Coldplay do not sound so unique on this album - more as if they are copying 60s and 70s singers and bands. Apart from Politik, In My Place, The Scientist and Clocks, I am not really that keen on any of the tracks on this album and found it a bit of a disappointment after the superb Parachutes. I was a bit wary when first listening to X and Y, but though it didn't make an immediate impression on me, I have become totally smitten with it. Anyway, my five least favourites are:- Daylight Green Eyes A Whisper God Put a Smile Upon Your Face High Speed Don't get too cross with me fans! My love for Coldplay is huge, but nothing is perfect in this world, is it?! (well, apart from Chris Martin, that is!) "What if I got it wrong, and no poem or song Could put right what I got wrong Or make you feel I belong?" :embarrased:
  9. Oh gosh, how can I choose just ten. Well, okay, at least today, I think my top 10 in order are:- What If? In My Place Don't Panic Sparks Trouble Fix You Shiver The Scientist Speed of Sound Spies Though how can I leave out Clocks, Politik, Yellow...Oh no, Coldplay are too brilliant to be able to restrict my faves to just ten. Also I realise my choices are probably a bit different to many, especially with What If? being my favourite, but if anyone has read my posting on the thread, What is your favourite Coldplay song today?, they will know that my husband is cheating on me and so I am in a very melancholic mood and in need of the beauty and relevance of this song. :(
  10. Perhaps I'm the only person who thinks this, but I can't STAND U2. Never could. Give me beautiful, real, melodic, heartwarming, often melancholic but hopeful too, music. Of course I may be slightly prejudiced by the gorgeousness of the guys in Coldplay, in particular Chris and Guy...! :)
  11. If you are a thirteen year old schoolgirl who wants nothing else but to put posters on her wall to cry over at night, maybe this statement is true (though IMO there is no one in the pop world more gorgeous than Chris and Guy). But if you actually want to listen to MUSIC, well, all I can say is that if you really think that McFly are better than the greatest band on the planet, I suggest you go for a hearing test. Something seriously wrong there!
  12. Thanks all. Just speaking to likeminded fans helps me to cope with my cheating husband. Seriously, there must be some HUGE mismatch between me and him as he doesn't even LIKE the greatest band in the Universe. Got to admit I get great pleasure from playing songs like Shiver and What If? and looking at him squirming when he sees the reaction they have on me, knowing how RELEVANT they are to my situation. :smug: He is going to find out that there will come a day when I don't want HIM in MY life.
  13. My favourite today? Oh yes, don't they change! Can't decide on just ONE, but at the moment, the three I love best are Sparks, Don't Panic and In My Place - apart from the fave which has NEVER altered since I first heard it, which is What If? As my husband is cheating on me, this song seems to have been written for me. But then so do all Coldplay's songs. Pure joy. (BTW, one advantage of my husband's infidelity is that I can lust after Chris and Guy now without feeling guilty!!)
