  1. Based on the Rock Werchter video, I completed the lyrics posted by periahdark on page 7 of this thread as follows: "On every street and every car and every surface are names, And now the streets arise and we're writing the same." It sounded like the same thing at the iTunes festival to me, except maybe without the extra "ands" in the first line. I think these lyrics are as conclusive as they're going to get until the official ones are posted.
  2. Agreed. Remove the 'it' and I think you've got it 100% (unless it's "spray can and soul," but I think that's a long shot at this point).
  3. Based on the Main Square festival, I'm still convinced that the (new) lyrics for the second verse are as follows: On every street, every car, every surface are names And now the streets arise, and we're writing the same: 'Don't let em take control' No we won't let em take control. Yes I feel a little bit nervous Yes I feel nervous and I cannot relax. How come they're out to get us? How come they're out when they don't know the facts? So on a concrete canvas under cover of dark Concrete canvas I'll go making my mark Armed with the spray can (and?) soul I'll be armed with the spray can (and?) soul. Honestly, I think those lyrics make the most sense, if nothing else. They see names graffitied (is that a verb?) on every street, every car, and every other surface, and now they're making some graffiti of their own: "Don't let 'em take control." "Names" and "same" rhyme perfectly (not that Coldplay is about perfect rhymes), and it fits better than "saints" (which, again, I'm not convinced Chris ever sang in the first place). I think we're all pretty much in agreement until the "concrete canvas" bit, and coldplayisawesome pretty much hit the nail on the head explaining those lyrics. Finally, I'm still not convinced about "spray can soul," and am leaning toward thinking it's "spray can and soul," only because it makes more sense (to me, at least). The "and" is difficult (if not impossible) to pick out in the recordings, but Chris sometimes does run his words together. That said, it's the part I'm the least certain about. Everything else is, IMHO, pretty much spot on. Then again, this will all probably change with the next performance anyway! :P
  4. The more I listen to the older versions, the more I'm convinced he never said "saints"...I'm thinking he said "sayings."
  5. Not sure about the first part, but the last part is definitely, positively this: "On a concrete canvas under cover of dark Concrete canvas I'll go making my mark." And when I say "definitely, positively," I'm talking about the most recent versions. In the earlier versions, who knows? ;)
  6. This. Both HLH and Charlie Brown seem like their lyrics are inconsistent at best, depending on which performance you listen to. I'm fairly positive he says "saints" instead of "names" in the older versions.
  7. "On every street and every car and every surface are names, And now the streets arise and we're writing the same. 'Don't let 'em take control...'" That's my best guess; HOWEVER, I can almost make out an "n" sound at the end of "same," so the second part could actually be: "And now the streets arise and we're writing this sayin': 'Don't let 'em take control..." It fits with the pattern in the first part about statements written on items, so either way I'm convinced that they're singing about writing "Don't let them take control" on something.
  8. Close... So it's all an innocent riot We'll be glowing in the dark.

  11. Awesome concert! I'll repost those and some more in high(er) quality later...need my sleep.
  12. I asked the same question the other day, as their website seems to indicate that nonprofessional cameras are allowed, and the general consensus here seems to be that standard digital cameras are fine. I'll be there in the morning tomorrow, and I plan on finding someone who works there and asking them in person, just in case.
  13. Anyone have any idea on the camera policy? According to the website, they don't allow professional equipment at the events, so I'm assuming a standard digital camera would be fine. Just hoping the rules don't change for non-sporting events. I've got the GA tickets as well, and the last thing I want to do is stand in line for 10 hours only to be told I have to run to the car and ditch the camera before I'm allowed in... http://homedepotcenter.com/contentright.php?section=guestservices&page=eventpolicies#photography
  14. Tell me about it. I've only seen them at the Honda Center, and both times I was up at the highest possible tier and pretty far from the stage. Now I've got GA seats...talk about playing the extremes!
  15. Went into work after getting the tickets and already reserved my day off :D I'm planning on getting there around 8 AM, and my girlfriend already volunteered to do the food runs since she isn't TOO excited about sitting there for 10+ hours haha. EDIT: Ah you talked to the box office. I thought the info you got earlier was from Ticketmaster, which is why I was wondering how some people there knew what was going on and some did not.
  16. The plot thickens (or sickens). Here's the email reply I got regarding my GA tickets: ...ok then. So as of now (as far as we know), we're thinking anyone with a GA ticket will get seats SOMEWHERE in A1-E1, but that the exact seat within those sections is determined on a first come, first serve basis, right?
  17. Anyone know how many rows there are in the GA section? I know I "got" row 10 so there are at least 10 rows. Only reason I'm asking is I doubt I'll be able to get down there to camp til the morning of the show. I'm sure even the last row of the GA section will be great, but still...the closer the better! Now the only thing to worry about is getting cameras in. ;)
  18. Where are my GA seats? :'( This is driving me crazy....I'm too lazy to call so I shot Ticketmaster an email.
  19. I'm hoping the same thing, except I was also given a row number AND seat number with my GA seats. Still, stranger things have happened...maybe on the concert date the roadies will take pity on at least SOME of us. :P
  20. Check the price. According to the KROQ chart, the front half seats are more expensive than the back half (although the two prices they give on the chart are incorrect...)
  21. Hm...because if you look at the KROQ seating chart they basically split the floor into two sections: front and back. Both are GA. If that's the case, I'm 10 rows from the front. No complaints here :D
  22. Did you do KROQ or Ticket Rush? I 'm wondering if the KROQ ones are going by the generic KROQ LA Invasion chart and the Ticket Rush ones are the generic concert chart...
  23. Yeah the thing that's messing with me is that they're saying GA is general admission like it's a whole different seating chart. Confusion... Ah well, they're floor seats so that's all I care about. :D
