Radiohead Survivor - Amnesiac - Round 5
voted I Might Be Wrong, which is sad, but true. :( I need my top 3 to be Life In a Glass house, packt and knives out. Matoran, doesn't it feel weird to vote for any of these ones as your 'least' favorite?!? :o

I challenge this entire forum to come up with a better song than 'There There (The Boney King Of Nowhere)' by Radiohead. I and I alone shall be the judge of what is right and what is wrong. now... go!

Radiohead
That's a nice avatar! Yeah, I find 'The Bends' to be a wake-up album. 'OK Computer' is a any-time album. 'Hail to the Thief' is a "Oh man, I just want to listen to some good music"-time album. 'Amnesiac' has a time and a place... I don't like it all the time, but when I'm in the mood, it can be the best album ever. 'Kid A' is definately a relaxing album. Usually 4 bars into 'Everything In It's Right Place' I'm already drifting off into thought- it's a wonderful feeling. 'Pablo Honey' is more of a, "hmm... my friend hasn't heard radiohead, and only likes 'pure' Rock music... I better ease them into Radiohead with something like this"-time album. :P

style of the next coldplay album
God Put A Smile Upon Your Face is my least favorite coldplay style, unfortunately, so I hope it's not too much like that song...

Favorite CD Covers?
"All That You Can't Leave Behind" is a good cover for a group shot. @YamiMarik528, you don't like SM or Happiness? They're just so... different, you know?

What's the matter with X&Y?
The thing is, everyone has thier own opinion, and my opinion has to be that I like X&Y best. The music is what drew me to Coldplay, I get more emotion from it than any previous album. I think that all the songs share a sort of 'paranoid' theme, and I'm into that kind of thing right now, [probably why I'm so obsessed with Our Lady Peace right now, lol] and a 'futuristic' theme as well. Maybe the album has that futuristic feel to me because of the Talk video [my first exposure to Coldplay, and my favorite song by them (followed by Amsterdam)] I also consider X&Y 2 albums, [square One - X&Y ; Speed of Sound - Til Kingdom Come] and listen to each seperately. Speed of Sound - Til Kingdom Come happens to be my favorite right now.

Manic Street Preachers
See, the problem is that bands that are not publicized and over-hyped have no chance today. I think that the best bet for a new band would be to release some more radio-friendly hits at first, then, after 1 or 2 albums, once they have the power, slowly switch it into what they first intended to be as a musical group. Bands who don't take this shortcut have to wait it out and hope for a growing fanbase, which grows too slowly to fund a working band. That is why music today feels so crappy and overproduced, because it's all we're hearing. If we were to start playing music on radio or Music Television that was actually different and interesting, people wouldn't be happy. They want their pop, their hip hop and fake idols. Speaking of Idols, American Idol is an insult to bands and people who have had to take the long road. These people pop up out of nowhere and steal sales from the bands who have chosen a different path. It's not that all music these days is horrible, it's that we're only listening to the horrible music, because it's all that's being played. When Crazy Frog can sell more than Our Lady Peace, you know how bad it is.

X&Y South East Asia Tour Edition
To tell the truth I prefer the original X&Y cover art. That's a beautiful cover.

Our Lady Peace
After you've read the book the words to 'Made to Heal', 'In Repair', 'All My Friends', 'If You Believe', 'Life' and 'Everyone's a Junkie' make so much more sense. That is a great book, you're right. Glad to see another olp fan somewhere in the world. :)

album vs album
I'd say St. Anger Happiness is Not a Fish that You Can Catch [olp] OR Stunt [bnl] ?

Our Lady Peace
Add 'Are You Sad?' , 'Stealing Babies', 'Will the Future Blame Us?' and the live version of 'Naveed / Life' and that would be one great album. :D

X&Y an end of the world The Day After Tomorrow THEMED song?
I actually understand what james.xy.blunt is trying to say, and I wish that the album could actually be about that, but I doubt that Chris Martin would write things like that. The fate of the universe is a neat theme in music.

Concept Album by Coldplay ???
I think that a concept album by coldplay would be brilliant. X&Y was a so-so half concept album, with all the math playing into most of the album, but I'm thinking something drastic and futuristic like 'Spiritual Machines' by Our Lady Peace. Coldplay has established itself as a major band in musical history, so I think that they have enough fame to make a concept album work. Something playing off of consciousness or the fate of the universe would be intelligent and would sell a lot because of the established fan base. If you haven't already heard Spiritual Machines by Our Lady Peace, do so. If Coldplay can pull that off, I will be very happy. Incidentally, Spiritual Machines was OLP's 4th album as well!

The official **THIS BAND/PERSON SUCKS** Vent Thread
stemot1978, that's the same as me. Sometimes I love my CDs and sometimes I can't stand them. If I can't stand Coldplay then I just listen to Amsterdam and it all gets better.
