  1. I like male doctors more because they're more sympathetic and, in my experience, they've been less condescending and rude. For ~reasons I do not care to elaborate on~, I've had many people look at my ~*lady parts*~ and the males were always more careful and less hateful towards me. I don't know why the women were so mean. It must be because they're jealous of my magical vagina or something. Female doctors in general have been kind of bitchy towards me. It was hard for me to get on birth control because of my wild and crazy periods because my female doctor was busy criticizing me for not wanting to talk about the sex I wasn't having. And another female doctor kept insisting I had an STD when I had never even so much as kissed anyone, and after multiple tests over an extended period of time kept showing I was clear.
  2. If an atheist does not believe in his divinity, one may also believe it was possible Jesus lied to further his cause and change the church. Or, he could be viewed as just another person of faith who believed in God and preached a faith of a father-child relationship with God. As long as we're speculating.
  3. He isn't saying he's the son of God there, though. He always spoke as though he was very familiar of God, which is reflective of the relationship he believed we should all have with God. Not that I don't believe he's the son of God. Edit: He spoke with a lot of authority and never really directly said "I am the son of God". The ideas that led people to believe he was saying that are mostly things that apply to a lot of us.
  4. It is not insane to preach love and generosity and humility. An atheist or person following another religion can believe in those things and believe that Jesus was a great role model for teaching others to be kind and loving while not believing he was the son of God. I'm not understanding the jump from "if you don't think he's insane, you have to believe everything he says". I don't believe everything anyone says, but I don't know any insane people.
  5. Because I don't believe I have to follow the laws of the Old Covenant and I think women should be able to preach in church and, you know, stuff. The Bible to me is a history of the development of my faith as well as an aid in my life trying to serve God and love everyone. Much has changed and much conflicts in all these documents, which were inspired by God, but written by man. Many of these stories were recorded in times where storytelling was more important than complete accuracy, so I choose to simply follow the gospel and do things that I believe will take me farther in my faith. I do not believe it is necessary to believe that everything in the Bible happened and I do not believe that all of the old laws should be followed. It isn't picking and choosing; it's just the development of the nature of the church and Christianity.
  6. I believe Christian means you follow Christ's teachings, though there is disagreement among denominations about what makes someone a Christian. I don't think that all of canon has to impact or have anything to do with what you draw from his life.
