8/12/2007 This week’s rant is about Music Videos. Do artist like Fergie, Rihanna, Akon, and Gwen Stefani pay MTV and VH1 to play there music videos or something?? I mean I saw Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” on VH1 two times in the same hour. Other than that they and MTV play that song and others every hour. I saw Rihanna’s Umbrella song on VH1’s countdown at 15 one week and some song never 2 or 3, but still they play Rihanna more than the ones in the top 5. What else makes me made about this is that when Coldplay came out with Speed of Sound, Fix You, and Talk VH1 only played it about once every 5 hours, but still manage to get The Black Eye Pea’s song out there every hour???? What the hell is with that? MTV is worse than that. I have never seen a Coldplay music video on there regular channel. Coldplay or another band can be higher in sales and on the charts, but still you have those 5 or 6 music videos that are played more. Well that is my 2 cents on the subject.
