  1. I am thinking Stephen's Talkhouse in Amagansett. My cousins had a house out there for 35 some odd years and that's where we would go see bands but it is pretty small or The Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays. I love a mystery.

  3. Apparently The Patch's hunches are wrong, A HA! The plot thickens: http://easthamptonstar.com/Music-Nightlife/2016720/Coldplay-Coming-Where From The East Hampton Star: Coldplay Coming, but Where? By Joanne Pilgrim | July 20, 2016 - 4:08pm The announcement Monday of an intimate concert by Coldplay on Aug. 7 at a "secret location" was accompanied by a poster picturing the band in front of a structure that appears to be the Montauk Lighthouse. The invitation-only show will be sponsored by SiriusXM Radio, which is holding a contest for its subscribers to win tickets to the performance, which will be broadcast live on SiriusXM, as well as a trip for two to "New York," along with a hotel stay. The announcement prompted speculation that the band would play at Montauk's Surf Lodge, which recently reinstated its concert series after a music license snafu delayed the start of its summer music season. But Steve Kasuba, a Surf Lodge spokesman, said Wednesday that the Coldplay show would not take place there; a band called Bob Moses is scheduled for that day. Chris Martin, Coldplay's lead singer, has a connection to the area; he was married to Gwyneth Paltrow, and the couple bought a house in Amagansett. He and Ms. Paltrow separated several years ago and were recently divorced, but are often still seen together with their children. The band is touring following the release of its most recent album, "A Head Full of Dreams."
  4. http://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2016/07/21/13578/#78c5a219e15f From Forbes: These Are The Highest-Grossing Tours And Concerts Of 2016 (So Far) Touring industry publication Pollstar recently revealed which acts are performing best at the mid-2016 point, and the lists of the biggest tours and concerts expectedly features some of the most popular names in the business, as well as some amazing numbers. Bruce Springsteen proves yet again that he is still The Boss by securing the number one spot on the list of the highest-grossing tours for the first half of 2016. The rock legend, along with his E Street Band, have now grossed almost $171 million in ticket sales from The River Tour, which is proving to be one of the biggest of his career. Behind Bruce comes Beyoncé and her Formation World Tour, which has now collected $137 million. While Bey might be in second place now, it is worth noting that she still has a while before her trek is over, and she has only played half as many shows this year as Bruce. It’s possible that she could end the year on top, as her ability to sell tickets isn’t likely to dip anytime soon. Rounding out the top five on the list of the highest-grossing tours thus far in 2016 are Coldplay, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones, each of which has proven their worth at the box office time and time again. Of the top five acts this year, Madonna’s average ticket price was by far the highest at $216, and in fact hers is the only tour with an average cost of entry over the $200 mark. The Stones make it into the region having played only thirteen concerts, though they were especially large ones. So far, only Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Coldplay have managed to sell over one million tickets in 2016, though that list will surely grow by the end of the year.

  7. The PATCH KNOWS EVERYTHING! http://patch.com/new-york/easthampton/coldplay-play-live-montauk Coldplay To Play Live In Montauk? Fans are already buzzing about a secret announcement that went viral. East Hampton, NY Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow may finally be officially divorced, but it doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing him around town during the family’s annual August vacation in Amagansett. Sirius XM sent out a release today announcing Coldplay would be performing at a secret location for an invite-only show on August 7 — and fans are buzzing that it just may be happening on the East End of Long Island. And that’s because Martin is often spotted around town with his ex-Gwyneth and their two kids, Apple and Moses, at this time of the year. The concert will be available nationwide for SiriusXM subscribers on SiriusXM. What adds fuel to the Hamptons being the optimum location is that Paltrow is scheduled to host the Hamptons Paddle & Party Pink 2016 charity event for breast cancer in Southampton on Aug. 6, the day before the secret show, so she will be in town to attend. Some people are even buzzing that the Surf Lodge will be the venue. . . after all live music is back at the Lodge . . .Just keep an eye on Patch for any updates.
  8. Awwwwe, thanks for posting gai, lets hope it turns out well.
  9. So glad you had a wonderful time @periahdark
  10. So here in the US Ticketmaster realized they can get lots and lots of money if they put a seat which is numbered and lined up in sections rather than having standard GA standing, which they can get from anywhere of $20 to around $90 a ticket. When you purchase your ticket you are getting an actual numbered seat. 99% of the ppl stand and dance especially if you are in the front sections. You try to get an aisle seat so you have more room to dance. The seat is actually good to put your bag/crap on/under ha! still need to write my review

  21. Of Course, no problem, I can get someone to translate :)
  22. I agree, I have been to a few Coldplay shows in Connecticut where they had GA standing in front and seats in back, depends upon the venue
  23. It's a love/hate relationship with seats here. On the one hand you do not have to queue up all day, you know where you are sitting (well in this case maybe not :P) but normally it's ok but those tickets are very pricey if you want good ones in the front. On the other hand GA standing is normally cheaper but you got to be there the night before lining up (i.e The Today Show) if you do not have VIP. All of the Coldplay shows I have been to in NY in Arenas or Gardens (MSG, Nassau Col) have been seated. Now Muse, LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead here do GA floor standing and seats around the arena, those are what I like best because you have a choice, if you can get tix and they don't sell out
