  1. The way the tapings normally work is that you enter a lottery online to get tickets. It's very difficult to get them because they normally fill the place with VIPs and donors before releasing the rest as "space available". For this show, I would be surprised if they offered very many space availables. If you win some, you have to show up at the venue early to wait in line, otherwise you don't get in the available space. ;) As far as I know, they're open to anyone who can be in Austin to see the show. I hope that CP will have a contest or that ACL will offer a bunch to fans because it'd be real shame if they didn't. I know a bunch of Coldplayers got into the last one...don't know if it's because they won tickets or because they knew someone. At any rate, seeing them here is going to be preferable to baking in the ridiculous Texas sun on Friday!
  2. At the Austin City Limits Music Festival, they have sign language interpreters for all of the major acts. They're always so fantastic to watch! They definitely draw their own attention. Can't wait to see them interpret Coldplay songs this year! :D
  3. It's from this video for a Johnny Cash song. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxh-FfElY0M]YouTube - ‪Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down‬‏[/ame]
  4. I hope Chris is listening to this because it would be pretty priceless to hear his commentary on pigeons and Vikings. :laugh3:
  5. This is the most powerfully boring radio show I've ever heard.
  6. Craig is one of my favorite people ever. Craig + Coldplay =
  7. These links don't make much sense to me. How do you think they're all related? And how are they related to the Plan B demo? They seem like random coincidences. I think all of this would have to be planned far too intricately in order for it to be a convincing fake. At any rate, I don't care that much. It's really just entertaining. :)

I'm not sure what this proves. Someone found several YouTube users who admit to doing Coldplay covers. It may very well have absolutely nothing to do with these demos. Nothing in any of those links says anything about the demos being fake or shows anyone admitting to them being fake.
  9. venuslovebug2 replied to roche714's topic in Coldplay
It's understandable that people would think that it's fake because it's just a demo and not polished. But what would be the incentive for someone to write a whole new song and perform it as a fake Coldplay demo? If it was fake, why would it go unaddressed by the band/website? They probably brought it to the attention of EMI, which explains why it's being taken down from YouTube. I'm a music writer, and I have a lot of reasons to suspect that these demos are real. I spend a lot of time analyzing vocals and I'm very, very familiar with Chris' voice. It's extremely difficult to do a perfect imitation of someone's voice, including intonation and phrase styling. Unless there's some master impressionist out there, this is Chris. Think about it - how many covers of Coldplay songs on YouTube sound anything like the original, let alone almost identical? If you listen to the VLV demos and then these right after, you can see how his voice is rough in very similar ways. If this is fake, the guy singing is going to be famous for that impression. None of this is to say that the demos mean anything. There's no way to know when they were done. Just tossing in my two cents.

Agree. If this song is on the new album, it'd probably be totally different by that point anyway.

    That's definitely Chris. I'm 100% sure.
  12. This is very, very late, but I recently posted an edited video called Coldplay in 10 on my blog and it's a summary of this show and the Dallas one. It's on my blog at http://austingirlmusicguide.wordpress.com/. Also, I finally finished uploading ALL of the concert videos to You Tube (Dallas and Houston). Check out, http://www.youtube.com/user/AustinGirlMusicGuide to see full length videos and my personal You Tube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/virginiarh22, to see all the snippets and short clips.

  14. Hi everyone, My husband and I recently finished a fun video summary of 2 Coldplay shows (Dallas 7/21 and Houston 7/22)...a little late obviously, but better late than never I suppose! Anyway, I posted it on my blog here: http://austingirlmusicguide.wordpress.com/ and wanted to post it here as a head's up to the Coldplayers. Hope you'll check it out!
  15. Nice! I've really been wanting to see that episode again! It seems like every time they're going to show it in Austin I'm out of town or something. Thanks so much for the links! Edit: I really wish that ACL would sell an unedited version of the show. It was so great and they really trimmed a lot out for television. Plus, the sound was better than what you'll hear on TV because we were hearing it through a professional sound system. This is definitely better then nothing though!
  16. Aww, thanks! I appreciate that and no I don't mind you reposting it. I totally feel bittersweet about the shows being over as well...I'd love to fly to Europe to attend one, but right now it's not in the cards. Actually, we'll see, I'm going to remain hopeful. :D
  17. Thank you! Definitely, it's a Coldplay thing that I didn't get before seeing them live, and I'm so grateful for that experience. Thanks for the link and for responding!
  18. I saw them at the simulcast...I wasn't in the studio with them, but I was watching it live in an auditorium nearby. It was amazing! In other news, some full HD videos are finally up!!! Woo hoo!! Check out my blog to see them. www.austingirlmusicguide.com.
  19. Hi all, I finally posted my reviews of the show (did a Dallas/Houston combo) on my blog at www.austingirlmusicguide.com. I reviewed Kitty, Daisy and Lewis and Amadou & Mariam as well and posted pics from the Dallas show (we were really far from the stage in Houston, so the pics aren't too great). Hope you check it out! :)
  20. That's my husband's head right above you! The tall one with the beard! I've finally finished my review of the shows (reviewed both opening acts as well) and I have my pictures up too on my blog. www.austingirlmusicguide.com Still working on the videos, but we've got a back up plan...hopefully should get them up this week. :D Edited: @jenflor - awesome, thank you!
  21. Okay, so we're having extreme technical difficulties uploading our videos and we're not sure why...it might be because they're HD quality. We're going to keep trying because it would be a real shame not to be able to share our vids! Anyway, I did manage to upload one full video (at much lower quality) and a few more pictures. Here's the link: www.austingirlmusicguide.com.
  22. I was standing right behind you! That was awesome. I'm still working on getting my vids uploaded....YouTube is being annoying. I should have a couple of them up today and my pics for sure.
  23. Hey all! I'm a few minutes from leaving for the Houston show, but I did upload a couple of pictures from the Dallas show onto my blog (http://www.austingirlmusicguide.com). We were at the front of the pit with a Flip Ultra HD camera and got AMAZING footage and other great pics too. I will be updating my blog with that stuff at the end of the week but will definitely post when I do.
