You know, in a way its kinda cool that they're nervous. At least they didn't look like ass holes pretending to own the place. Chris even thanked everyone for having them come back to America. I'm glad they're nervous because maybe they feel like they're starting over and everything is fresh. Like they don't know what to expect. Coldplay have practically been re-born with this album so the fact that they're a little nervous is a good thing. At least they realize they're trying something new ;)

Totally agree. That's what I was talking about earlier. Those people didn't come to see Coldplay, they came for pussy cats and Mike Myers and MTV trash. Most of them were probably paid to sit there. I would be terrified if I had to play my music in front of a crowd like that. AND on such a small stage. AND playing that song for the first time live. Some people around here think its a bullshit excuse that they haven't played for a long time, but what can you expect? Fucking Chris to sprout wings and literally sing to the rafters? They're only human. I was watching Coldplay perform live tonight and that's all I could ask for. Chris was a little out of breath, the mix sucked, the crowd was horrendous, and it was MTV. Fuck MTV. It was Coldplay. I had the TV at full volume and I was singing along at the top of my lungs in the middle of my living room dancing around in my underwear. So it really doesn't matter how good just this ONE performance is. Its fucking Coldplay people. We know how they are live, so there's nothing to worry about. Who cares if it wasn't their best. We've seen them at their best and we know we're all going to get a hell of a show when we see them for real this summer/fall... Everything's not lost ;)

Whattt?? How can you people say this was bad? It was fucking MTV and it was the their first performance of new music in FOREVER so of course its going to be low key and awkward, because there's MAYBE like 10 real Coldplay fans in the audience. Just wait till the entire crowd is full of Coldplay fans. Then Chris will feel right at home and sing wonderfully! I think it was amazing to see how they actually perform it. The bell was great, Jonny's guitar was sick, and I can totally see Chris performing a killer piano solo during the middle breakdown. I can't wait for this live because I know it will sound great in the right atmosphere :D
