Hello folks....well Lovers In Japan has two guitars (album version) the normal and the ambient thats at the very beginning of the song and goes through whole song. Problem is John cant play that two at same time so he always plays ambient for first and then it is replaced constantly... That sucks doesnt?:P

Viva La Vida or Death and all his friends is almost perfect except one song- Lovers In Japan, I just don't like it that much, I may get to like it eventually but I don't at the moment and I am VERY surprised at it being the next single, I would of chose Yes or Strawberry Swing.... ANy one with me???

Okay, so I'm one of those people who have yet to listen to this album on a song by song basis, and what I mean by that is I don't pick out favorites or anything like that. I listen to the whole album in sequence. I'm always going to do that with this album just because I love the way it goes, but I've found the album version of Lovers in Japan just seems so ordinary to me. At first listen it might have been my favorite song, but right now it seems so bland in comparison to everything else. I still love the acoustic version, but the album version has lost its charm with more listens. Anyone else feel this way about this song?

Okay, this has probably been asked before, so sorry I'm coming off as redundant. I don't really post here much, but I love to read everyones opinion of the band. Lovers in Japan is probably my favorite song off the new cd, and IMO one of their best songs ever. My question is what version does everybody else like better? Studio or acoustic? Personally, I enjoy the acoustic version more, but a lot of my friends (who really aren't big Coldplay fans) enjoy the studio version much more. Also on a side note, anybody here going to the show in Atlanta, GA?

There seems to be a lot of hate for this song, with some people calling it "filler" at best. Some of us, though, see the song for what it really is - a beautiful, and ultimately necessary, breath of fresh air in the middle of an album full of all sorts of different sounds. Having this lovely lullaby of bells in the center of the album, keeps me from getting overwhelmed by the heavier material. Leafing through the booklet for Viva La Vida for the nth time, I actually bothered to stop and read the lyrics written on the middle pages. One thing caught my eye: In the Reign of Love section I could see the normal lyrics from the song, followed by: "Reign of love I can't let go reign of love only this I know" ...And then some print that was too tiny to read. 1) Has anyone heard this "extra verse" live? 2) Can anyone make out what the rest of it says? thx

It seems that Reign Of Love sometimes has the sound and the rhythm of "Til Kingdom Come" from X & Y, actually, the middle parts of Reign Of Love seems to match with the lyrics: "Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me" from "Til Kingdom Come". Anybody agrees?

I was nonchalant about this song before, but after hearing it live last night in Chicago (Accompanied by a wonderful background film), I fell absolutely in love with it :) Perhaps the montage helped! Did anyone else feel the same way?

I couldn't believe it! I was browsing the racks at Nordstrom Rack in Chicago Loop and was disappointed not to see this dress I had seen on a previous trip to the store. Wouldn't you know it, but Lovers started playing in the store!!! :):):) I started singing quietly and was expecting to see at least one other person singing or showing some sign of appreciation for the wonderful audio surprise. Every one its forgetting where u2 get their sound!!! Intro sounds like a Brian eno produced the rest sounds like depeche mode and NIN were in this together. this is a killer song but dont forget brian produce the album lol. LIJ ts awesome song that have similarities with great bands and the voice of chris its nice to hear it in this song.

Tonight I was in McDonalds in Jacksonville Flordia and I heard Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love playing. I don't know where their music comes from but it was so awesome to hear that one out and about. Maybe the next single???:rolleyes:
