  1. Great thread I have sheets for alot of U2, the fray, jeff buckley, goo goo dolls ++ The most is official sheet books in PDF. Would be great to get the sheet book for Snow Patrols most recent album.
  2. Ordered an LM308AH operational amplifier today(the one they used in the vintage RAT), so i can switch it with the one in my reissue RAT2. Looking forward to hearing the difference(if there is one)..
  3. borrowing my sister's cam, so i'll post some covers using all my gear this weekend
  4. nice setup :) you should get a tubeamp though! The blackheart is cheap and gives you great tone..
  5. i want to see more pictures :)
  6. I started playing guitar about 3 years ago, and whenever i picked one up, i couldn't get the righty ones to feel right :P, so i borrowed my uncles yamaha steel-stringed acoustic and flipped the strings. That was when things started to happen ;) Now i only have leftys, and that makes the intonation much better on acoustics. On electrics you're most often able to adjust all of the saddles, but the knobs and switches may get in you're way when playing. man i love playing guitar... BTW: My amp is a Blackheart Little Giant 5W tube. Perfect for my appartment :)
  7. I just used a regular glue-stick
  8. thanks! the photo isn't flipped. i'm a lefty:) I really like my telecaster, and i've spent alot of hours tooling it to "perfection". Here's my other baby
  9. Just pimped my guitar after seeing coldplay live in oslo spectrum!:D
  10. It's just a clean-boost stompbox with one knob. It doestn't really do much alone. But you can use it to drive the preamp of your tube-amp into saturation. I use it to drive my modded RAT. This way i get the most awesome overdrive/distortion sound i've ever had. You also get much better sustain. I didn't really like my RAT until i discovered this. Add a reverb-pedal and you're good to go :D
  11. I have a switch on mine, so i can use it both modded and un-modded.
  12. That's what the Reutz-mod is for! It gives you the lows and makes it hiss a bit less. You should give it a try. It's the easiest mod ever, that just involves cutting a resistor.
  13. I found out something great today :D I used this chain :Std Am Tele - MXR micro amp - Rat with reutz mod - RV5 - tubeamp. This way i can use the mxr to drive the rat and get an AMAZING johnny sound. Listen to Everything's Not Lost and Yellow live at the Hollywood bowl. My setup just went from ok to GREAT.
  14. Is it the new RAT2? I've got one from the early 90's, and have done the Reutz mod. Makes it a million times better. You really get the "yellow" sound! I'm gonna snatch an LM308 op-amp from the lab at my uni, and replace the existing one, as i've heard it's a great improvement.
  15. Sounds nice man. What effects do you use?
  16. www.openstomp.com This thing might be worth checking out. An open-source effects pedal :D. Probably sucks for distortion/overdrive, but could be awesome for customized digital effects. 350 bucks is quite a bit though...
  17. i actually have the official x&y instrumental album. Pretty sure i just snapped it off some torrentsite
  18. I need a band too... can't sit around and play by myself all the time :P Also, a Line6DL4 is next on my list.
  19. Bought myself an MXR Micro Amp and a ProCo RAT2 (Reutz mod)! Looking forward to see what they can do with my Blackheart Little Giant tube amp in company with my std am tele . Really sucks that the amp hasn't got an effects loop, as my Boss RV-5 don't feel at home in front of the amp. I wish i had my own house with noone nextdoor, so i could rig up a real Fender amp....:P
  20. The scientist is great if you plan to sing as well, because the strumming pattern is really basic. If you're really into coldplay (like me :dozey:) you should know that your thumb is a great tool. That is if you want to play the songs the way chris does. Is your guitar steel or nylon-stringed?
  21. Their purpose is to look nice and not colour the sound.
  22. This is already posted in this thread. Years ago..... And the tuning is EADGBC, not EADGBF. ;)
  23. I'm considering buying a jap '72 thinline, and getting some original wide range fender-humbuckers off ebay. That should work well enough..
  24. That song is friggin' amazing. The octave midi-sequencing guitar effect is really cool. Best song on the album IMO
  25. Kite and Walk On are insane. Too bad i didn't get to hear any of them live at Valle Hovin Oslo 2005.:( I have all of their DVD's, and Kite is so powerful. And the finales at Slane Castle and Boston with Walk On likewise.
