Chord Progressions
Another thing that is interesting are breakdowns. Where the music resolves into a coda or something similar. It's insanely effective. Can't come up with a lot of specific examples at this moment, but i guess you know what i mean. Politik may fit the description, at the end where the song changes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MRTE1cJprM Check it out at 4:00 and onwards..

Chord Progressions
Listen to "Doves - The Man Who Told Everything". They use Fm - G# - D-flat - C, which is the exact same change at the two last chords but in a different key. That last change is what makes the whole song. Hugely underrated.. BTW Chord changes that don't really "follow the book" are usually what catches my ear, and are the songs that never get worn out. Like Jeff Buckley's Lover you should've come over. EDIT: And i'm not talking about Fiona Apple off-key shit. That's just instument rape.

How sick would it be to have the red one that Bono uses on Kite?... omg..

New addition to my instruments: a Gibson Hummingbird lefty :D

Jonny uses two Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212's. They're good, but also VERY loud. You should try some of the Fender tube amps, or maybe a Vox, and see(hear) what you like.

That's one beautiful guitar man...

The thing with expensive guitars is that you have to get the first decent scratch on it, mourne a bit, and THEN you can play it for real :P A guitar only gets cooler by really showing that it's used.

Viva La Vida Tour - Disapointing Set Lists
I've been listening alot to the new album, and putting the old ones on the shelf for a while. The album has grown on me, and has a lot of great moments. Lovers in Japan was a track i ended up playing on repeat for days. I've also seen the BBC show and that BNN-popsecrets thing(wtf did chris smoke?) that aired, and thought it was rather nice performances, though i think chris's singing needs a bit of polishing as someone mentioned earlier in the thread. BUT When i blew the dust of the Live 2003 dvd and fed it to my dvd-player, it was like i had been missing out on coldplay since the new album was released. I hope they get it all together this tour too. Can't wait to see them live!

"Lover you should've come over" is a great piece of music..

I've been playing for a little over two and a half years. When i first picked up my uncle's steel string acoustic i couldn't put it down , and now i have four guitars. I see a future with alot of expences :P (and alot of joy!)

I couldn't agree more :). Who knew a painted wooden plank with some wound steel cold bring so much joy :D

It's comes down to a matter of taste as with many other things. I'm getting the reissue of course (like i could afford a real '72 if it even EXISTED as lefty :D). The japanese reissue is quite good actually. But no hurry, as i think my gibson hummingbird will give me a lot of joy when it arrives sometime next week. The Martin OMC-15E is also tempting (the one you see chris use in shiver, AROBTTH ++ on the live 2003 dvd). There's just something about that mahogany guitar

The fender telecaster is great for playing coldplay. Of course the humbucker thinline is preferable, but the standard is a great compromise. If you've got a tele(not squire), a unit that gives you distortion/reverb/delay and a fender amp, then you've come a long way. btw, i'm getting the jap fender thinline '72 in natural for christmas for sure. Beautiful instrument, and their necks are awesome.

I have an Ibanez acoustic, Yamaha FGL-720 acoustic, Fender Telecaster Am.St sunburst. And somewhere in the world between usa and norway getting shipped to me: a gibson hummingbird :D All guitars are left-handed

Anyone got an accurate tab for WHAT IF?

I don't want to hear Fix You, Yellow, Trouble in concert anymore
So sad that a norwegian-idol contestant ruined In My Place completely on prime time tv.. I would rather fucus on the songs i WANT to hear rather than ones i can be without. I want to hear Everything's Not Lost. Such a great great buildup and breakdown.. If they ONLY played that song, i would be satisfyed for a year :P

Kapone's Tabs
The coldplayers should slow down their songs btw.. And the lead in shiver is 6/8 6/9, not 6h8 6h9, sounds like they recorded the lead straight from a guitar-pro tab.

Jonny's electric part for Shiver would be great also =)

what is the hardest jonny buckland guitar riff to play?
I forgot David Gilmour. Absolutely agree with you. He can work magic with a single note.

what is the hardest jonny buckland guitar riff to play?
The mishap at the Ahoy (Green eyes) is a classic, he must have been sleeping on stage :P

what is the hardest jonny buckland guitar riff to play?
Watch the slide part after the first chorus in AROBTTH - Live 2003. http://youtube.com/watch?v=wb_7C1vMpRQ Noone can possible say that it isn't anything but... I have no word for it actually

what is the hardest jonny buckland guitar riff to play?
I can only think of one guitarist that is able to create such great atmosphere with his guitar other than Jonny, and that is The Edge.

live version of strawberry swing
Sounds like a delay that reverses the previous tone.
