  1. Review - Part 2 Alright, after a long wait without food, Magnificent finally started and we knew it was going to start soon. Also, roadie spotting was fun too. Blurry Miller: This is (blurry) Hoppy, right? I'm not a Roadie specialist. :p So, after the dancing roadie and Blue Danebu (such an epic opening), Coldplay came on stage. And like I said before, it was so freaking awesome. This was the best experience I've ever had at a (Coldplay) concert, even though I've been front row before). I'll let the pictures speak for themselves: Guy was there too, but I only have a blurry picture of him. :P The only thing I can moan about is the setlist, but that was to be expected. It was really nice to hear Trouble (I love old Coldplay songs) and although I couldn't see them when they were on the C-stage (not even on the screens, only on the balls), I loved every second of it. Chris sang Billie Jean perfectly, with a little assistance of Will. :P My favorite moments were, besides the beginning, Politik and Lovers in Japan. Two of my favorite Coldplay songs with lots of flashes and butterflies... perfect! That's about it I guess. Oh, getting a LRLRL CD wasn't too hard, getting out of the parc was a lot harder. 65.000 people walking in the dark through a forest, drunk people falling over bushes, it was quite funny actually. Almost as funny as local people trying to sell soda cans for 5 times the normal price. :dozey: We left at 9.30 am and got back at 1.30 am the next day. I'm still tired, but it was definitely worth it.
  2. After 5 Viva concerts I'm getting quite tired of that Viva cheer. :P We should come up with someting else!
  3. Thanks, I'll post more tonight. :) Does anyone know if it is possible to embed videos from photobucket?
  4. I spoiler-tagged the pictures because of the size. :)
  5. Review - Part 1 I don't know where to begin to describe this excellent day. Let's start with the very beginning then! We (me and a friend of mine) arrived at about 11 am, after we took a walk around the Goffertpark. Our plan was to arrive at 1 pm, but because the person who brought is had to be somewhere else, we couldn't go later. :P It didn't matter anyway, the waiting wasn't so hard as last year, because the weather was better, there was grass we could sit on and I was looking forward to it more than ever. Once the first gates were suddenly opened, there were about 3 gates you could wait at, but we were among few who waited at the entrance on the right. We weren't sure if that really was an entrance, because everyone else was at the one in the middle. Well... we were lucky! Our gate opened and I fast-walked (I was "smart" enough not to run, because the security mister was stopping people who were running ) to the gates were your bags were checked and your tickets were beeped. As soon as I was on the field I looked behind me and noticed I was (one of) the first who was on the field! I waited for my friend, but he had problems with his ticket or someting and people started running past me, so I decided to go running too and save a place for him. :) It was a long run (I felt sorry for the people I ran past :P), I couldn't breath anymore, but what an awesome place we had! The only downside of being front row is that you have to look to yourself on the screen. Then, after three hours of waiting (everything was on time, the gates opened at ~15.00 and the support acts were on time too) Bat for Lashes came on. They were really, really good, much better than I expected. Beautiful music. Bat for Lashes also wins the price for cutest drummer: I'm thinking about going to see them in october, I never enjoyed a support act so much! But the next support act came close, because The Flaming Lips were totally weird, but in a good way! They came on stage before their act actually began, during the soundcheck and the singer was telling that he was going to walk over us in a balloon (I made a great video of that!). They came on at about 19.15 and it was a fantastic act. The music was alright, but I loved how they made a show out of it. Coldplay hadn't even begun and I already had the time of my life! At the end they played Over the Rainbow because Chris asked for it, which was nice (his voice isn't great, but he's almost 50, so that's okay). I'm glad I got the opportunity to see this amazing band. So... the waiting for Coldplay began! To be continued...

I know they played several Jon Hopkins songs.
  7. Am I glad I can sleep in tomorrow. :D I'm so tired from those two amazing nights, so I should go to sleep.
  9. Crowd wasn't great, I agree. A little better yesterday I think, but I was front row then and everybody there was really into it. I also spotted Phil today, tried to take a picture but it is dark and blurry. :dozey: I want a setlist too!
  10. That's a very literal translation! When you say something has a 'rouwrandje', it means there was a feeling of mourning surrounding it. I don't quite understand what that has anything to do with a Coldplay concert? :P Edit: aah, because of Billie Jean.
  11. Haha, awesome. The Oracle should hire Daan to work for him/her.
  12. Just came back from another amazing night! I arrived at about 4 p.m. and made it tenth row on Guy's side, with a great view to the main and the B-stage. :) The part where he screwed up Postcards was indeed very funny. :D I also got a better view of the stage and of the fireworks this time, it was really beautiful. And so... the Nijmegen nights come to an end... the Viva la Vida Tour is almost over, but there is still Wembley as a great finish. After next week I've seen them six times this tour... which is enough. :p I'll post pictures and vids later (from both nights), I filmed almost the whole acoustic set, with Green Eyes, Happy Birthday for Jonny and the improvisation song. Setlist the same as always, but they played Green Eyes again instead of Trouble.
  13. I think it is allowed if it fits in your pocket, otherwise probably not... it also might depend on how lucky you are. My bag wasn't even properly looked through yesterday, so I could have easily brought in a professional camera, lol.
  14. I'm also looking forward to tonight, still pretty tired though. :P I'll be there around 15.00, so no first row this time probably. I'll might go stand near the B-stage or something.
  15. If it is the same as yesterday, she will. We ran into some people we know and they arrived at 16.30, but were still able to get pretty close to the stage. ;)
  16. There is no golden circle or anything, you can get in and out of the front section anytime. That was the case yesterday, I'm assuming today won't be different.
  17. I loved how he walked over me in his bubble. :D I have a nice vid of that, which I'll post later. First: sleep.
  18. So many songs and it was still over so quickly. By the way, The Flaming Lips are fucking awesome! The music sucked, but the act was so great!
  19. No restricted area in Nijmegen either.
