Random Coldplay thoughts...
They gave Pink Floyd's Animals a perfect 10, and they gave well-known indie band Spoon a 8.5 on their last album. And In Rainbows got a 9.3. But for the most part, yeah, they're pretty elitist. Enough so that I found this article pretty funny: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/pitchfork_gives_music_6_8

Song VS. Song Game
A Rush Of Blood To The Head, definitely. It's one of my favorite Coldplay songs. A Whisper vs. Parachutes

6 - I have always thought of this song as somewhat overrated. I like the jazzy piano chords in the verse, but I feel like the song is stretched a little further than it needs to be. Another thing that miffs me is the abrupt production change from "We Never Change" to this track on Parachutes; it always gives me a little bit of a start. I like the live performance on Live 2003 very much, though. Easy To Please I like this song, but it seems like a lot of people really don't.

Song VS. Song Game
I'll pick "X&Y" simply because it's much more interesting musically. It also sounds slightly exotic, where "A Message" is just a straight-up ballad. A Rush Of Blood To The Head vs. Don't Panic This is an easy choice for me, but I'd like to see what somebody else picks.

9 - This is just a simple, well-written ballad. The arrangement is very effective, too. Crests Of Waves

Corporate sponsorship of music albums
This seems like the opposite of what the artists would want, or at the least I feel like this is exactly why Radiohead and Paul McCartney left. This tactic is liable to scare away some of the artists, especially the ones that want artistic freedom (like Coldplay) instead of revenue.

Coldplay album track titles leak
Actually, that's kinda feasible. If they were making up all this song information so far, I can see how they would get a kick out of referring to "Lost!"'s "hip-hop beat" or describing a seemingly-dark title like "Cemeteries Of London" as "handclap-laden."

the best chris martin collaboration
I've only heard his collaborations with Ron Sexsmith ("Gold In them Hills") and Kanye West ("Homecoming"), but I actually like both of them. He does some particularly great harmony with Ron Sexsmith. And it sounds like this Faultline song is something special. Does anybody know where I can hear it?

Coldplays 1st Single
If it's a track from the album, I'll probably not buy it. But if it's only released as a single only before the album comes out, I'm almost certain I'll get it somehow.

'Coldplay Quitting Label' Claims Denied
I would definitely have expected Coldplay to jump ship; I'm doing a project on EMI for a class, and apparently the company is not faring well. As such, I'm surprised Coldplay's not following Radiohead and Paul McCartney (and Robbie Williams?) out the door.

6.5/10 It's a good song... and 6.5 is a good rating in my book. Life Is For Living

'Dumbest criminal' caught in SA
I guess that makes this guy the comic relief. Good find. I've heard of dumb criminals, but never quite this dumb.

I am currently listening to....
I'm a pretty big Pink Floyd fan, and I have never once heard of that song... Any details? Innocent Bones - Iron And Wine I'm pretty sure this is my favorite song from Iron And Wine's new album.

Song VS. Song Game
That's an easy one for me... "Green Eyes" is one of my favorite Coldplay songs. Green Eyes vs. A Message I feel like "A Message" was meant to be X&Y's version of "Green Eyes."

Coldplay To Release 'Best Of' To Escape EMI
I won't either, because I'll probably already own all of the music on it already. I'm interested in seeing Coldplay's song selection, though, especially if the upcoming album's new direction affects the band's hindsight.

News: Contact Music claims "Chris sees a Hypnotist" / "new album name: Prospekt"
I said that it would not be a good title... if you feel otherwise, I'm surprised, but certainly not offended. And chuck may have something with that skydiving theme... but Rip Chord is a definite no-no.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_%28band%29 Yes! would not be a terrific name for the album.

News: Contact Music claims "Chris sees a Hypnotist" / "new album name: Prospekt"
That would make me so happy that I might die. I've actually thought before, "The more the next Coldplay album sounds like Yes, the better." I'd love to see Coldplay cover "Heart Of The Sunrise"... It could be great. Or any of the songs from Relayer, for that matter. I bet "To Be Over" would go over well in concert.

The SEX thread
Boy, have I come to the right place. I'll have you know I've never fired Dr. White from the office. If it matters, I'm 17 years old... I understand that most people have done the deed by my age. I have yet to find another male besides my brother (and, surprisingly, my father) who does not masturbate and never has. And as for whether it's attractive... the thought of a girl pleasuring herself is, to me, both disgusting and depressing. Perhaps my philosophy would change if I did it myself. Sometimes I get the impression that the lack of wanking is actually a bad thing. Any thoughts on that?...

Little Known Facts About Coldplaying Members
I'll give this thing a go, then... but I expect this thread to turn into an unreadable monster before we even get to a full page. 1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? The baby in my mother's dream while she was pregnant with me... which was technically me anyway. 2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? While listening to some extremely sad song... I don't remember which. 3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING I love it. I write in cursive, print, and all-capitals-print alternatively. 4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LUNCH MEAT? Turkey, I suppose. 5.. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? If I do, it's news to me. 6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU? I like to think so. 7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT? WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? This depends entirely on the method of contact. It's usually what a person looks like because, naturally, I see a person before speaking to them. I'm not exactly tight with you guys quite yet. EDIT: Wow... when I started this response, nobody had responded yet. You guys are sneaky.
