Actually, according to Debs, there are many people at EMI who haven't even heard it. so, add that to the list ;)

Well, when I heard the demo, like most others I think I imagined that part of the song being the base of the melody, but it's not - like, I can't explain it - it starts off a LOT slower than I would have imagined and chris' voice is so low, (maybe lower than in 'Yes'), I dunno, it's so hard to try and explain. I think even if we were allowed to give it all away I couldn't because it's too tough to try and put into words. I think you'll love it, I would also say it draws some comparisons to 'Reign of Love' in the piano work, but almost certainly ends up drawing similar ground as 'Viva' or 'LiTii'

The part Jack played there from the demo is the chorus of the song. the verses and the melody are quite dramatically different throughout, but in a good way. I just remember our table (mainly me, Chelsea and Dan) just looking at each and thinking 'this is epic' - I'm pretty sure chelsea was crying :P (I may have made this up)

I'm playing with fire by posting that. but whatever, it's out in three days! I just need to avoid the coldplay police until then....:cool:

Hey man, was great to meet you the other night even though you are clearly wearing a girls jacket ;) but seriously, that was awesome. You should have came with us to the banks afterwards. they changed the lyrics at the end of the recording, when we watched them shoot the ending one of the lines is now 'May your troubles soon be gone, oh christmas lights, keep shining on...'

haha no, it was about the origin of 'Politik' he was suitably impressed, but now that I think about it I never thought to ask him if he'd sign it! I still can't believe I won it, unbelievable.

Well, as I've said, I think it's totally baffling that people were disappointed! I respect everybody's right to their own opinion and I'm not trying to in any way challenge that, but COME ON! - I think as a few people have said - if they'd said 'We're giving 100 fans the chance to appear in a Coldplay video' you'd still have applied. if you want to ask a particular question that badly, then spam the oracle! (Debs).

Don't forget that half note at the end guy! :lol: OH OHH UHH OHHHH(release)HHHH, OH OHHH, OH-OHHH if you can decypher that like I typed it, then you can figure out the melody :P (those who weren't there)

@Dylan - brilliant video! you can really catch the atmosphere of the boat on it. I missed this song, I was beering upstairs with Mark, little did I know I would be getting pulled out of the Karaoke song-hat shortly afterwards! grrrr....

It was me who asked him about Politik, I just remembered Chris saying something about it in an interview ages ago. and when he was like 'Wow, you really know your stuff' I thought 'You'd go nuts if you met the others off the board!' Lol. but he was a nice guy, and I got to shake his hand, which was nifty.

We were on the barrier too, but we were a bit to the right of that photo. boo! :angry:

Perhaps, but I think some people's expectations were FARRRRRRRRRRR too high, or not high enough. WE WERE IN A GOD DAMN COLDPLAY MUSIC VIDEO. and people are complaining because they didn't get to see phil? It's just bugging me, tonight was just about the best night ever for a coldplay fan!

We spoke to Phil at the set of the stage at about midnight and he said that he was fully intending to do the Q&A but because he was asked to appear in the video, he was unable to get from the shore to the boat. so PLEASE, stop complaining, it wasn't all a complete rouse to get us into the video. they WERE intending to do it, but it was out of their hands.

Yeah, crazy right? well, we got off the boat at 10pm but a bunch of us went back to where the stage was rigged up and watched the band film the video for about two hours. then I had to catch my train at 1am, so really, it's not so bad, but I AM tired! ha.

I did. it got back to my flat in one piece, you'll be glad to hear :P
