[2-July-2011] Coldplay @ Rock Werchter festival, Belgium
I will upload the Brussels gig tomorrow. I didn't even know there were bootlegs from the Antwerp shows. Do you have them? Is it an on-line store or a 'real' store?

Just uploaded it. If anyone is interested, I also have an audience recording of the 2002 Brussels gig.

[11-June-2011] Coldplay @ Pinkpop Landgraaf festival, Netherlands
Benicassim must be so cool. They have stuff on stage until like 6 am. :) Rock Werchter usually has some pretty late headliners on Thursday and Friday as well.

Well, Pinkpop is known for having the headliners on ridiculously early. I think it's a shame, because you never get the full light show and extra atmosphere that the night time brings. But on the other hand, it does mean you have to hold your pee a little less longer. :P

Not that new. I've actually had an account since 2003, but I lost the previous one somewhere along the way. :) Yes, going to Werchter too! Really excited this year! Last year was a bit meh, I thought, but this year it's going to be great again. Mad fer it!

Ok, I'll upload it somewhere tomorrow. It's one big file. I never bothered to cut it up in different songs.

If you want, I can send you the entire gig, including Trouble. There's also a short Wonderful World cover on it.

Coldplay New Era Setlist
I'd guess the first festival shows will be similar to the Christmas gigs with a couple of new songs thrown in. Once the new album is out, more new stuff and only the Viva singles will remain. And the old favourites off course.

The Werchter 2003 one where Chris mentions that the song was about the Belgian chocolate crisis of 1812?

I have the broadcasted footage of the 2002 and 2003 Coldplay Werchter gigs lying around here somewhere. I should 'digitise' it someday and upload the footage. Too bad the gigs are part of a pile of unlabeled VHS tapes. Gonna take me ages to find them.

Summer 2011 Easy Festival Guide (European Dates)
I could be wrong, but I can't imagine any of these festival gigs having 'special' tickets.

They're not too far away. Rock Werchter for example, can be worse. There can be a lot of traffic going into the parking sites though. Looking forward to it. Them playing festival gigs before the new album is out takes us back to the Parachutes/AROBTTH days.

[19-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Liverpool (ROYAL COURT THEATRE, 1 ROE ST, L1 1HL)
Some rather heavy snow showers right now in Liverpool.

Aww, come on. I thought Elbow played the second best set of the day. Brilliant band and they played an amazing concert, considering it was still quite hot when they played.

I was really close to the stage last time they played. Saw Elbow, Bloc Party and The Killers before them, so the waiting didn't bother me too much. Really great atmosphere and not too crowded in the front. I do think the rest of the festival has become way too crowded the last couple of years. Same goes for Pukkelpop. I do have to say that I thought all their festival gigs in Belgium so far have been better than their arena shows.

19-Dec-2009: Exeter Castle, Exeter, UK - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
So, any setlist predictions or wishlists? Since it's a Christmas gig, I think we can at least expect one Christmas song or a medley. Usual suspects are Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, White Christmas, Last Christmas, 2000 miles Christmas Lights. Whatever song it's going to be, I'm sure it will be a highlight. All Coldplay Christmas songs so far have been great! Obviously, there will be lots of Viva songs (Lost, LITii, VLV, LIJ, Strawberry Swing) and a Will song. But since this isn't a VLV promo show, I hope they'll dig a bit deeper into their back catalogue. Wishlist: - See You Soon - Shiver - Spies - Prospekt's March/Poppyfields - Everything's Not Lost - Brothers and Sisters - Easy To Please - No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground No way in hell they'll play the above songs in a regular concert or promo show (except for Shiver every once in a while), so next week would really be the only chance to play them.

Even if you arrive later, you'll always be closer than you were at Wembley. I already saw them twice in a small venue (i.e. < 500 ppl) and people tend to arrive later than at stadium or arena gigs. On the other hand, the 500 people in the audience should mostly be die-hard fans, so there obviously will be a queue when the doors open. The other times I've seen them in such a small venue, the audience consisted mostly of prize winners and they tend to care less about having a good spot. :) Really looking forward to it.

I live in Belgium, but would love to go to the Exeter gig. Since it appears to be for UK-residents only (although I can't seem to find that information on their website), it would be difficult to go without the help of a UK coldplaying member. :) I am a member of Little Noise Sessions, so I will definitely try to get tickets in their presale tomorrow. So, anyone who lives in the UK and wants to go to Exeter, please send me a PM and we'll work something out. Depending on the amount of tickets you can buy, I will either have one or two spare tickets (if I manage to get the tickets off course). I will use my Little Noise Sessions subscription, but will order the tickets on your name and address.

Ambient music before the gigs of COLDPLAY ?
I recognised some Eno stuff, so I'm assuming most of the ambient music was Brian Eno. Some could have been Jon Hopkins, but I haven't really listened to his music yet so I couldn't tell.

It was my tenth Coldplay gig yesterday, so I had something to celebrate.:) I think this was the first time I saw a Coldplay gig without Chris doing at least one fuckup. The band sounded very tight yesterday and were more focused than on Thursday in Rotterdam. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen them this tight. They really were on fire yesterday. The atmosphere in the crowd was also just a bit better than on Thursday. I stood on the second row in the center, which made the long wait very worthwile. :) Glass of Water sounded amazing. I was wearing a Strokes T-shirt, so I was extremely pleased when Chris called the Strokes "the best band in the world" and then Albert Hammond Jr. came out to play a monstrous riff on that song. Excellent drumming from Will as well. Quite a departure from the stuff on Viva La Vida I think.

Incredible. "Ongelofelijk" was Chris' favourite word of the day.

It was a sign with "Coldplay is ongelofelijk" on it.:)
