I understand what you are saying. I mean I think that The Beatles are definitely one of the most important and influential bands. What I'm trying to get at is that the way that you posed your argument towards Eddie, it made it seem like you thought he was an idiot for liking Burial more than The Beatles or thinking that they're very influential.

Don't you think that's being a bit close minded and elitist? And also if are not a big Burial listener, how can you make an accurate assumption? If that's the case then why don't we all just say that Beethoven and Bach are better than anyone else ever in the history of music, and leave the discussion at that?

Well in that sense yes they did have a huge influence. At the same time if you go by that then since then besides Michael Jackson there's been no other important band which is ridiculous to even think. I mean from what I've seen from your posts I don't think you listen to too much electronic, and I think that Burial is a pretty popular electronic artist. And even so what does it really matter? Does it make any artist more or less worthy?

That's pretty shitty of him to do to you. I'm also similar in the sense that I put trust into friendships and find it very important. But at the same time also not wanting people to take advantage too. I think in that situation I could see why you might not be friends. If I had a friend spreading lies behind my back and charging me for using his music equipment when you did him favors in the past I don't know how long I'd be friends. Unfortunately there are a lot of shitty people out there.

not to jump on the bandwagon but I think the way that you approached your methods to other peoples opinions is where you went wrong howyousawtheworld. I am a HUGE Beatles fan, no other band I love more (except Radiohead). However mocking people for saying that an album isn't as good as any Beatles album is ridiculous. There are plenty of songs and albums that are better than some Beatles songs. If there weren't then no one would bother to listen to any other band. No band is untouchable, nor is there any band that everyone can agree on. Do I personally like Burial as much as The Beatles?... no way, but you can't knock someone or think their are musically inferior for saying that Burial or any other artist is better than The Beatles. How can you really measure something being better? It's all a matter of taste

I won't deny it's a great song and excellent especially in terms of songwriting and arrangement, it's just too overplayed. Like I find a lot of people I've come across pick that song as their favorite or one of their favorites. I personally think there's so many better songs, or songs I like a lot more

I'd say that John Lennon and Paul McCartney are the people that would be closest to being idols. And the reason for that is their huge influence they've had on my life and were the main reason for me wanting to learn how to play music and write songs. So without them I think I'd be different with my interests.

this happened to me with Roger Waters. not only is he an asshole but also lipsynchs his own songs. I used to have so much respect for him, but I've realized how phony he is and how much of a terrible musician he is too. I still love Pink Floyd though. outside of that no one else I can think of

it depends on the band. I think overall reunions tend to be blown up in hype but are never as good. It seems most of them are just a money grab which I think is terrible. It should be more about the music.

the one thing I don't like about my camera is whenever the volume gets loud you can notice that there is a noise equalizer, and the overall volume of the music will go down to avoid clipping.

Only problem I have w/ burial is from what I've heard from him sounds all the same. They had Burial on before Flying Lotus opened for Atoms for Peace and I swear it was like the same song for an hour. I don't mind his music after like 10 mins, but then to me it get a bit too monotonous.

They were incredible! The whole atmosphere of the show was surreal and left me in awe a lot. If you get the chance you have to see them... they are just so good live and their music makes the experience so good. I'll post videos tomorrow evening, and some pictures (if they turned out okay) edit: I decided to upload the videos now.
