It is nice, but it's impractical as a solo instrument. Unless you're joining an orchestra, I wouldn't buy one. With the piano you can show off your skills to friends and family. Who knows, maybe even record an album one day? Plus French Horns are EXPENSIVE. So much metal in those things.
