  2. haha  I really adore the kids, I'm annoyed that I keep having so many fucking snow days so I can't even see them! :veryangry2: fucking snow, I'm so sick of it! right now we're stuck in the middle of the "worst snowstorm in DC history", FML.
  3. seriously! the world is crazy! dude! :dizzy: anyway, I'm going to sleep, goodnighttttttt :)
  4. GUYS, look at this! http://twitter.com/NASA/astronauts-in-space-now they're tweeting from space! and sending twitpics from space!!! THE 21ST CENTURY IS RIDICULOUS.
  5. world... nutella... day?!?!?! :awesome:!!!!!!! and *looks at website* HOLY SHIT NUTELLA BROWNIES. oh my god.
  6. ummmm, well let's see. There's only so much I can tell, I think. I'm in a classroom with autistic/developmentally delayed toddlers (5 year olds, and today 3 and 4 year olds). They're almost all nonverbal, but they're really great, and a lot of work! Let's see, what do you want to know that I'm allowed to tell... The PDD kids are generally stuck on talking/following directions/everyday functioning, etc. We help them with fine motor, social interaction, stuff like that. Every one of them is really different, and each one is sweeter (and louder) than the last! :P Today I worked all day with a 4-year-old (nonverbal) autistic boy, and he was the SWEETEST kid I've ever met. We took to each other very quickly, I'm going to miss him when I go back to my normal classroom tomorrow! :\ He was the most interesting toddler I've ever interacted with (and boy did I interact with him- 5 hours straight!).
  7. no problem  haha, "Autism ", you don't see that too often :P Crests  I really want to tell you about my internship! I'm working with a few kids with PDD-NOS :)
  8. gahhhhhhhhh, Look Kids, Snow Crystals, Datascroller, Arrow and Bow, ELECTRIC EYE ELECTRIC EYE :freak: Autism affects 1 in 150 children in the US, and 1 in 94 boys. I seriously think that there are subliminal messages in their songs that cause addiction. seriously. :worried:
  9. This just popped up on my Beatles news feed, I wonder if it's true : http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/w0000813.html Paul McCartney Writes for Gwyneth Paltrow's Website February 02, 2010 09:05:35 GMT Gwyneth Paltrow called on her close friend Stella McCartney's father Paul McCartney to write an article for her lifestyle newsletter - in a bid to explain the benefits of a meat-free diet. The "Shakespeare In Love" star talks about her diet, daily routine and top tips on her Goop website and weekly newsletter, and called on vegetarian McCartney to add his views to the latest installment. The rocker champions "Meat Free Monday", a campaign to encourage consumers to ditch meat for one day a week, and he used his chance as Goop correspondent to champion the cause. He writes, "All it means is that you have to think a bit about what you'll eat that day but, in actual fact, far from being a chore, it's a fun challenge." Paul McCartney first became a vegan when he and then wife Linda McCartney watched lambs on the field while they ate one. He also credited classic movie "Bambi" for driving him into meat-free zone.
  10. I know, it sucks :bigcry: we DEFINITELY could have met up for lunch or dinner, especially on Saturday :\ I'm sad! I'll try to figure out if I'm going up to Bryn Mawr at any point in the spring... I think I might be
  11. arghh it's taking so long to downloadddddddddddddddd also, I'm sad that we didn't meet up this weekend :disappointed:
  12. I slept through House :bigcry: but I'm downloading it now
  13. you should visit! It's an amazing city :D I want to post a picture of the view from my school, but I can't find it on my computer :\ I'll do it tomorrow :)
  14. yes it does! picture of chicken strips =/= sandwich! yeah, very intense, but the kids are too charming for it to not be enjoyable :) I thought of that! I'll do it when I'm not feeling lazy :P
  15. ^ EVIL. IT LIES. well there's 9 kids in the class, and most of them are non-verbal. two of them are pretty low-functioning autistic, some of them are just "developmentally delayed" (they'll probably end up with PDD-NOS or other types of PDD diagnoses), one has Aspergers... it's A LOT to work with! Every minute is structured, and the autistic kids need a lot of supervision and help because they don't talk or anything. I'm a bit battered and bruised  but they're very interesting and a lot of fun :nice: they're very sweet! they're really excited to have me there :D It's REALLY exhausting, though :wreck: I'm excited for you to start your project! I can answer questions for you if you need me to :nice:
  16. yeah, nice weather, lucky you! I should tell you about my internship :) well I saw your earlier post saying that you told me to go to Reading Terminal and now I love it, so I didn't want you to give yourself too much credit :P shut up :embarrassed: :shame: :P
  17. Washington DC, capital of the free world :P :dozey:
  18. :idea2: ah, I knew I recognized the end of Snow Crystals! yeah, the end of In a Quiet Corner is cool  PS I like Arrow and Bow too. argh, I just like all of them :P how are youuuuuu <0> also, I want to clear something up- I got your tweet that I should eat at Reading Terminal, then my teachers announced that we were eating as a group... so we walked to this place, and I had no idea where we were. then I looked up and saw a sign that said "Reading Terminal Market" and I was like "MY FRIEND FROM PHILLY TOLD ME TO GO HERE!" :awesome: but it wasn't your tweet that caused me to go there in the first place, so ha :snobby: :P
