[31-Dec-2012] Coldplay @ Barclays Center, New York, NY, USA
so seeing as it was nearly impossible to get tickets to this, does anyone know what the best bet is now in terms of trying to get some? is stubhub the only option? because those ticket prices are insane. I agree that this seems like the weirdest ticket sale situation ever. did anyone even get tickets in the general sale?!

That time I met Chris and Gwyneth after they almost ran me over in their car
Okay, so... update: I think I'm actually in denial about the whole thing. Cause I was just thinking about how for so many years I'd have all these recurring dreams about meeting Chris, and they'd feel so real, and I'd wake up and roll over and expect to see proof that it'd actually happened- an autograph, picture, something- but of course they were just dreams... And now I have my autograph propped up next to my bed, so I wake up and see that it REALLY happened, and it's so overwhelming. Is this what everyone goes through after they meet their biggest hero?! Anyway, thanks so much for all of the kind words, and for saying that I deserved it for being respectful, etc... I'm glad you guys thought that instead of "omg she stopped them in their driveway" :P I'm so happy that it all worked out- but of course it did, because we all know how great Chris and Gwyneth are! This is just more proof :) Okay, back to watching Glastonbury 2011 blankly and thinking "I met you" repeatedly, haha...

That time I met Chris and Gwyneth after they almost ran me over in their car
OKAY. PHEW. So I just got back to Rome (where I live) from London, and I just checked this thread and my twitter and my tumblr and facebook I am SO OVERWHELMED. Everyone is messaging me from everywhere to talk to me about it and just AHHHHH. And of course I'm still in shock from the actual event and now there's all of this aftermath... Anyway, I just read all of the messages and they made me so happy and I promise that I'll come back and respond and stuff but right now I'm beyond exhausted and it's 1AM here. But I'll be back on tomorrow!

That time I met Chris and Gwyneth after they almost ran me over in their car
Oh man, they were SO nice. Gwyneth had a whole conversation with me and she was just sitting there with her feet on the dashboard and Chris was so nice and I just kept apologizing for stopping them at their house but they were so, SO amazing about it. I do think it's a pretty unique story, haha... and oh man, when I looked down and saw that he was drawing ME, I thought "wtf Chris" I think he did all that because I was so apologetic for stopping them even after they told me it was fine... I love your username and avi omgomg I also went to Speedy's today and The Sherlock Holmes Museum, it was incredible!

That time I met Chris and Gwyneth after they almost ran me over in their car
So I didn't think I should post this in the Bakery thread because technically it didn't happen at the Bakery, but... TODAY I MET CHRIS MARTIN AND GWYNETH PALTROW How, you might ask? Well, they almost hit me with their car. Basically, I wanted to stop by the Bakery and pay my respects- I figured they wouldn't be there, but I'd always wanted to see it. As I was walking down the street following the map I'd printed out, I thought to myself, "hmmm, doesn't Chris live nearby?" And then I noticed one house with some pretty snazzy security. And then I heard a car start from behind the house's gate, and just as I'm about to walk in front of the driveway, CHRIS FUCKING MARTIN backs out. I stood there in complete shock as he pulled a u-turn and backed back into the driveway. So I was like "what the hell do I do, I can't just approach him at his house but I will regret this forever", when over the gate I saw Gwyneth walk out the front door and get into the car. I had just decided to keep walking to the Bakery so I was crossing the driveway again looking down at my map, and then there was Chris Martin aiming his car 2 feet from me. So I thought "well I've already stopped them and I just can't walk away", but he was already rolling down his window and said "Can I help you?" and basically I just... I don't even remember. I walked up to the window and leaned down and was like "Oh god, I'm so sorry, I didn't know you lived here, I was on my way to the Bakery, but you're the person I've always wanted to meet most in the world and I can't believe this and I'm so sorry I'm outside your house, thank you for stopping". He was like "don't worry about it, it's my job!" and smiled at me, and then asked if I had something to sign. So I gave him the map and a pen and at this point Gwyneth leans around him and was like "hi!" and oh god it was Chris and Gwyneth. So then I told Chris that I'd seen them in concert 9 times and he was like "9?! Wow, thank you!" and asked my name and I told him and he spelled it out back to me and starting writing a whole message, and then I saw him look up at me and then started drawing a doodle of me. Meanwhile Gwyneth was like "so what are you doing in London?" and I was like "oh I'm a Classicist, I live in Rome but I came here for the weekend to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum and the Bakery" and they were both like "cool!" but Chris was still doodling away (I remember him looking up, nothing that I had glasses, and then adding them to the doodle). And I just kept apologizing and thanking them and then Gwyneth was like "do you have a phone or something for a picture?" and I gave her my camera and Chris was like "how do we take this picture, should I get out?" and I told him not to get out because I felt so badly already, so he just leaned back and I leaned forward and Gwyneth took the picture and they were both laughing and she said "this is the most awkward picture ever!" Then Chris handed back my paper and said "I noticed you're wearing an Obama button" and I said "yeah I'm from DC, I was actually there when you played DC on Halloween right before the election" and he said "oh yeah!" and smiled. Then I apologized one more time and thanked them and Gwyneth waved and Chris was like "thanks for visiting!" and then as I walked away I called back "come back to America!!" and he shrugged and grinned and called back "we'll come back when we're invited, you know?" and then waved and drove away and OH. MY. GOD. After that I basically don't remember anything, I know I stopped at the Bakery and I kept just repeating to myself "you just met Chris and Gwyneth, Gwyneth took your picture with Chris, that just happened". I ran to Starbucks to get some internet, and then I remember getting on the Tube, putting on my iPod, and BLASTING Strawberry Swing, Paradise, and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. I just can't believe it. I really can't. All the years that I've dreamed about meeting him, this is NOT how I thought it would happen. But it did. This is all I've wanted for so many years, and I can't believe it finally happened. AHHHHH. Photos:

[29-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ TD Garden, Boston, MA, USA
I am in complete and utter shock right now. I can't believe I got to see Coldplay from the front row for the second time this month. I can't believe this happened to me. I just... I can't believe I got upgraded again. Words can't even describe how I feel. I'm gonna post more tomorrow, but for now I just want to share two things: - I made a poster that said "I'll always raise the flag", and held it up during the concert... I got a few acknowledgements from the band but the best was during the song from which the lyrics come, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. Chris came over directly in front of me, and looked right at me, widened his eyes at the poster, saluted me and then sang a couple of lines of the song right to me. I was completely bowled over. - The reverse side of the poster said "happy birthday Will" since it's his birthday on Tuesday. I held it up during the bows, and Chris came over, pointed at it and mouthed to me "great! Will's over there." Then he went over, grabbed Will and TURNED AROUND AND POINTED RIGHT AT ME. Will came over and said thank you to me and waved, then Guy came and gave me a thumbs up, and then Will came back over and said thank you AGAIN. I just lost it at that point! If anyone has video of ETIAW/the bows, PLEASE let me know so I can see it all again :D

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
whoa. I have no idea how I feel about this yet. I think I'll let it sit for a while... I THINK I like the idea, although I'll never look to it as an "explanation for the songs" or something. To me, the songs mean what they mean because of how I've interpreted them personally, not because of a comic book...

It was such a stroke of luck, it was insane. We were in the very back of the floor, so not bad, but it kinda sucked because we're short and we wanted to see :P But basically we had gone up to the upper levels and just wandered around the concourse, and Amy was jokingly like "maybe if we hang around upstairs they'll upgrade us!" and we laughed about it... But then, as we were going back down the escalator to go back to our seats, we noticed someone waiting for us, and she was wearing roadie clothes. We'd all made our own t-shirts to wear to the concert, so she'd noticed those. And she walked right up to us and said "those are great shirts, did you make them?" and we IMMEDIATELY knew what was going on. But we stayed calm (relatively :P) and launched into how we made the shirts, and then she asked if we were big fans, and we started exclaiming about Coldplaying, and how we'd met on the forum years ago, and how we were finally seeing them together. And then she asked us where our seats were, and we thought "uh-oh, they're not crappy enough to get upgraded!" but she looked at them and then said "would you guys completely freak out if I gave you third row seats?" and we SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER and she told us to keep it quiet, and I hugged her and started crying, and then she took our old tickets and told us to enjoy the show!! And then she told us that we were REALLY lucky and she was glad that she'd run into us, because she normally only goes upstairs and our original seats were downstairs. but the funniest part was right afterwards, a group of girls who had heard us scream ran up to us and were like "what did you win?!" and we were like "oh, nothing..." and then ran off, haha :P but I dubbed the upgrade rows the "I can't believe my goddamn luck" rows because everyone who got upgraded just sat there in shock for like the first 20 minutes they were there  Marisa, Amy, and I just couldn't stop hugging each other and freaking out :D I saw the roadie's name on her walkie talkie, but in all of the chaos I forgot it! I think it started with a C... Christine, or something. She was really nice though!

EEEEEEEEEEK. I'm literally in shock right now and I've never been so exhausted in my life, so my review (and pictures!) will have to wait until tomorrow. But this was THE BEST NIGHT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. I still can't believe we got upgraded. Everything from when the upgrade roadie started talking to us to the final bow felt like a dream. I just... I'm in shock. I've read about the upgrades on here for years, but I never EVER thought I'd be lucky enough to get them. Like I said to Marisa and Amy, "I've never even won bingo before, let alone something like this!" haha I have some awesome pictures and stuff to share, but they'll have to wait until tomorrow. sorry! PS- if anyone has a video of Yellow, PLEASE SHARE, because we were on the big screen behind the stage twice during the song! Also Paradise, because Chris stopped and pointed at Marisa and I, and then laughed at us when we grabbed each other and screamed :P

PoC video
haven't been able to get on the forum in a while, oops! anyway, I couldn't put it off any longer and I watched... and to be honest, I hated it so much that I could barely finish it. Which is weird because I AM on the MX bandwagon and I like the actual song. but the whole video was so far from what I imagine Coldplay to be that I just HATED it. a lot. I hated the official Charlie Brown video for the same reason, but this is worse D: I don't wanna be a killjoy, especially because I really do like MX... but the past two videos have been blahhhh

[17-Apr-2012] Coldplay @ Rexall Place, Edmonton, AB, Canada
OH MAN! SO excited about the new setlist!!!!!!! eeeek! Although, if they're doing Life is for Living, why can't they just put in Everything's Not Lost ARGHHHHHH. And does anyone know if GPASUYF is still the version they've been playing since Glastonbury, the Chris solo --> loud version? And I'll miss Politik. but still... Warning sign and DLBIYH!!!! Bring on July :D shrieking in the library about this right now :P

they're the first tiered section but I don't think they're doing floor seats through presale- all of the options I got were in the loges...
