  5. From Latitude....I know it's the worst picture in the world...:bigcry:
  6. Aw, they wait til I'm away from home to tweet...buggers! Both Mags & Jonas were in the UK thurs/fri...but I'm guessing that tweet came from Mr F.... Friday morning Mags & Morten were interviewed live on breakfast telly..I watched it from the hotel room on the way down to Latitude (to see Mew!) Great tweet tho  edit: Better late than never..but I blogged it eventually - thanks for the link Pris ps - Jonas sang like a flippin' angel last night...that voice is incredible..
  7. Hi Frengers! Well, I'm back safe and sound from Latitude - epic road trip and I'm bloody knackered but the day was brilliant, had such a good time. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I saw Bastian close up.. :D We had bought some chips during the afternoon and we sat in a corner of the Uncut tent right by the screen to go backstage. It was just a nice corner to sit, hadn't intended to do any stalking  and this guy in a white teeshirt came out from the backstage area, I looked up and thought I recognise him...flippin' heck it's Bastian! :stunned: He walked right past us, in fact he had to walk around us cos we were sitting in his way... Then a bit later on when we were walking around I swear I saw a guy that looked a lot like Dr Watts but I wasn't sure (it was a festival after all - they were lots of hairy guys like him! :P) he was wandering around the stalls with a woman and a little girl...so it could have been him. Mew were on about 7.30pm (ish) and played 45 mins - no capes or gimmicks and only NT & IPP from the new stuff. We got front row on the barrier and watched the setting up. But we were a bit to the left so couldn't really see Silas, just a white sleeve banging away.. The gold drumkit looked gorgeous tho..:D My pictures are rubbish cos it was too dark but I got some vids (not full songs, just snippets) ..upload later... Set list was: New Terrain (which didn't soundall that great, I could barely hear the vocals) Introducing Palace Players Circuitry Of The Wolf Chinaberry Tree Special Zookeeper's Boy Apocalypso Saviours Of Jazz Ballet Small Ambulance Comforting Sounds (which was worth the journey and petrol money alone!) Jonas had his customary red tee/black cardi combination, Silas in white shirt, Nick in black, Bastian in grey tee and dark jacket and Bo in his dodgy college professor shirt/jacket/bow tie outfit :laugh3: But they all looked amazing :dead: Apart from Mew I got to see the other bands I wanted to see...especially Goldheart Assembly - they were brilliant (the best of the day - sorry Mew ) --- edit: New Terrain into IPP - I think you can hear me scream at one point..sorry about that..:D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsqSqkCRUlI]YouTube - Mew at Latitude 09 - New Terrain into Introducing Palace Players[/ame]
  8. Thanks Olivia :D I'll have to keep my eyes peeled during the day, see if I can spot Jonas hanging out by the film tent or something.. Bye..! :)
  9. Yeah, it'd be strange if they didn't have a track on this album that was inspired by Johan's leaving.. I noticed the album title wasn't complete..but couldnt be arsed editing it in media player...a few more weeks and we'll have the cd anyway... Anyhoo, this'll prob be my last post now until Saturday when I get back from Latitude...wish me luck Frengers..;) ps: I have three set of camera batteries (batteries always let me down :(), so hopefully should get some vids or pics to share when I get back...I can't guarantee they'll be any good, but I'll try..
  10. Vaccine I hear.. With our vaccine Maria Fed Maria So We search the arch That's singing words and...before it... We know you And it's true San Marie We helped you get to be :\
  11. Just following your Silas lyrics Olivia... I didn't realise he sang "Silas and Bo" - aw, that's so cute. Funny that he sings Sy-las..rather than Seelas - I always thought it was pronounced Seelas...:\ Anyone else think this could be about Johan & his missus..?
  12. Bo pics...my favourite subject.. :D Lovely photo there...thankies  ps: I just wandered over to the mew board and I see what you mean about the album discussions...crumbs it's all kicked off over there hasn't it..think I'll stay out of it for a bit..:(
  13. Aw, I wish you hadn't told me that - now I'm like :dead: everytime I listen to that bit..it takes my Bo-crush to new heights.. Hey welcome along simorphor, you don't need to be a CP fan down here, just a music fan, we're all quite open-minded and friendly.. :) I'm sure the album'll grow on you - Mew songs tend to be growers in general I think. And I agree with you on nms sounding more like the older, poppier stuff. Plus I think lyrically Jonas has improved on Kites, the lyrics are less vague, simpler yet deeper if that makes sense. Yeah, I don't see the point in the moral high ground..I've d/loaded plenty of stuff that I've paid for later. Why couldn't we try before we buy..? ;)
  14. The deep voice is Bo..? - I did wonder.. ...sounds lovely :sneaky:
  15. You mean I have to listen to this song again.....oh, the hardship.. ;) ok.... Agree Argh! Maybe...no...idk...can't make it out...I give up on that one - someone else'll have to have a listen.. I've listened to this song sooo much today - still LOVE it..!
  16. Agreed  hmmm...dunno about that - sounds like Truely spoken spoken to me..but idk And I still hear doubt..:\
  17. I'll be seeing them live hopefully on Friday...will report back.. :)
  18. :) Any idea on this bit... Beside you And like you I'm lost in your doubt I'm truely [????] I have no idea about the last line..:\
  19. my interpretation of Sometimes Life Isn't Easy ---- [i have no idea what you're screaming about at the beginning there Jonas..] Thinking about everything Why did you start (or stop?) You don't know what it's like Isn't that how it goes? When you learn to say (?) Thinking about everything Don't you know sometimes When it feels like someone Put a hex on you Well I felt like that I was blaming myself I was [no idea..] Hold my hands back When they beat me Leave me in the ditch When they kicked me Sever my limbs and deceive me Sometimes life isn't easy Here we go Here we go I'm surprising you Here we go Beside you And like you I'm lost in your doubt I'm truely [????] Hold my hands back When they beat me (I promise you) (Water run?) Don't you know sometimes When you can't see no end To the tricks we play Sometimes life isn't easy Here we go Here we go I'm surprising you Here we go Beside you and like you I'm lost in your doubt Here we go Here we go I'm surprising you Here we go Beside you And like you I'm lost in your doubt I'm truely [????] (piano) Safety net Life's regret (or - I regret..?) I am shaking [??] I am shaking
  20. Is it just me, or does tricks sound like an a-ha song when it first starts off..:\
  21. meh...dp I'll just use it to answer my own question.. Thanks Olivia :D I just love the lyrics to this..
  22. Yeah, a few tracks are already growing on me, when on first listen I thought they weren't that special...like Tricks for example. Cartoons is kind of a grower too, altho' I'm still not entirely convinced by that track. But then I suddenly realised how brilliant Small Ambulance was the other week...I had listened to it loads of times without fully listening and appreciating it..so sometimes those kind of background, filler tracks suddenly jump out and hit you. Are there any lyrics figured out anywhere yet..? I'm too lazy to go searching.. :(
  23. haha Maybe he picked the hitch-hiker up..? ;)
  24. Hi Monika :D I dunno ..I find it hard to rate one album higher than any other but it's definately poppier and more mainstream than Kites which is a good thing imo.. ..I love all the percussion that they promised us..the handclaps and the crazy drumming..there's someone at mewsite making comparisions with Viva La Vida (yeah, brave I know ;)) - because it's so piano heavy, but I hear similarities in the percussion rather than the piano. The drumming was rockier on Kites, more intense. On nms it's quirkier I think, more layered. But you can definately hear that Mew have pushed themselves to new heights on this record, tried new things and experimented, just like CP did with Viva, and it works.
  25. Aw, in all the excitement I forgot they are in Manchester tonight.. They are like an hour away from me..and they're prob on stage right now..or just finished...hope it was a good gig :D
