[Article] La Vida No Loca
Seriously! This guy sounds as confused as he's making out Coldplay to be! Ugh I wish these stupid newspaper critics would go whinge and whine to other miserable would be's and let there be happiness and light in the world.. which is pretty much all Coldplay is trying to do. Write good music, make people have "less shit days" and do what they love to do. I'm sure this reviewer is completely miserable at his job and would rather go watch Coldplay at a concert than be stuck behind a germ invested desk underneath a dim lamp with a strongly caffeinated coffee stuck in his hand complaining about a band he obviously has no idea about. Okay rant done! :P

If you could be a memeber of Coldplay...
I think I have kind of a similar sense of humour as Chris.. which often gets me into trouble but I think I'd like to be Guy. I'd just go around talking to myself cause he has the greatest accent in the world. LOL then again Chris has the loveliest voice. I think I'd be Gris. :P

'Tracks during live performance'
I just stumbled upon this.. from this website - http://www.singforever.ca/ thought it was knd of interesting. Haven’t posted in a while. And they posts are very infrequent. I’ve definitely slowed down a bit! I’m really enjoying Coldplay’s new CD Viva La Vida (or Death and All His Friends). Studio-wise, I think it’s one of the best CD’s I’ve listened to and it really evidences itself when the songs (Viva La Vida and Violet Hill) come on the radio and I really remember and sing along. Coldplay has deliberately written songs that they want crowds to sing along to…. “belt it to the rafters” or something like that. However, many of the songs contain strings and tracks that aren’t really replicable on stage! A good example is Viva La Vida, which is driven by a pulsing string track rhythm. There are no drum kit sounds, so they instead pull out the tympany and church bell out for the song during their performances (as seen live on videos on youtube). But it’s a bit unbelievable when Chris Martin and the guitarist Jonny Buckland play their keyboards for a short while before leaving them for the mic or the electric guitar, and the strings play on. Obviously they have a running string track in the background. I don’t know about you, but when I go to a performance, I want to see an original performance, for the most part. I don’t want to see a guy up there singing to a track. That’s karaoke. Of course there will be some things that you will track sometimes, like a basic drum synth or netherworldly sounds, but I’m not big on using the sounds that are a main component of the song. It’s kind of like using a track for the bass sounds instead of Guy Berryman (the bassist). What do you think? It kind of lessens the performance in my book.

Can Coldplay get away with NOT playing Yellow at concerts?
I don't think they really mind playing Yellow all the time cause they know how important it was to kick-starting their success.. in some interview I remember Chris saying they would never stop playing the 'hits' so I guess Yellow is here to stay! Which I dont mind i like all their songs though I wouldn't mind hearing them do an acoustic of Swallowed in the Sea and ROBTTH

What's on Chris' hand???
Any one else wondering what's going to (hopefully) be written on Chris' hand for this tour? I know originally it was 'maketradefair.com' and then the equals sign but do you reckon he will do something different? I know that's the whole reason why he never got anything permanent like a tattoo done cause he likes to change the message for fair trade. Any ideas?
