  11. I feel so sorry, I've completely forgot about my mixtape. :shame: So, Playyourlife, I was your tape maker and I have to say you thanks a lot for your big review, it is funny to read:) I'm glad that you like at least few tracks:nice: It was quite chill, I know  So: (title - artist) 1. Ordinary Saturday - Esthetic Education Piano line is a good driving force in the chorus, and the lyrics are really interesting. Lots of brass and different instruments towards the end. That's what I like in this song. Esthetic Education is art-rock band from Ukraine, but the singer is obviously not from here. Louis Franck is frenchman. They have a lot of experiments with sound, and I'll agree that vocal is quite british  2. Dansez - VV French. Very french. It actually kind of made me laugh when I first started hearing it, I’d really like to know what they are saying. I can imagine that it’s about something tongue-in-cheek. The backup singing and voices are kind of funny, as are many of the noises that the singer makes. Hahaha) yeah, this one is pretty crazy! But actually its ukrainian rock band, but they have some french songs. And they sing about dances here:D 3. Innocence - Bjork Interesting song. Starts out with interesting electronic music, which carries on through the whole song as the accompaniment to the singing. It almost seems at first that the song is not in english, but you get used to the enunciation. Not my style, but interesting. Ends with some nice asian music. Well, maybe this one was quite impertinent, but I just like main rhythm and vocal. 4. The Widow - The Mars Volta A rock ballad of sorts. It’s a little melancholy, but the melodies are interesting. sickkk guitar solo. :guitarist:that’d be really difficult to do, I know. Surrealists from The Mars Volta. I know that its very melancholy, but its strong:cool: 5. Analyse - Thom Yorke YES Radiohead. Awesome beat behind this one. I actually don’t have this song, and now I really want to know what it’s called. A really chill song, one of those that would be good to listen to while on a really long drive. Thanks! But its not Radiohead:P. Song from Thom Yorke solo album. It has quite interesting video also. And I'll try to listen it on a really long drive:) thanks for idea! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwSxzdqrxlI]YouTube- analyse by thom yorke (the eraser, 2006)[/ame] 6. Nice Work If You Can Get It - Sarah Vaughan This is awesome. really old school. not just 70s old school, this sounds like it’s full-on from the 40s. Very jazzy, and the woman’s voice is wonderful. really nice trumpet, and I like the lyrics: “It’s nice work if you can get it, and you can get it if you try.” You can still learn a lot from music from this time, unless I am being fooled and this is actually new, but I would be very surprised. Nice to hear some stuff like that. Oh, you are great! i love this song too! :awesome: yeah, its very old school, 30s-40s... I've found it on collection album "Manhattan Morning Music Memories", so, by this song New Yorkers woke up at the beginning of the last century. Ooh, these were great times! 7. Sour Sour Times - Portishead A really chill ambience song. It blends in very nicely with the last, since the beat includes an instrument that could possibly be a saxophone, and this girl’s voice is also really nice. The periodic guitar reminds me of a James Bond movie, and while I’m on that thought, this song has a James Bond kinda feel to it, not the action parts, but you’d understand if you heard it. Hhahaha) some sounds reminds me a James Bond theme too:lol: Refrain is not very optimistic but I put this song because I like vocal part and its esthetic mood 8. Ya Do Tebe - Okean El'zy Opens with organ/synth thing that I don’t know the name of. I probably should know that by now. anyway, a French, slightly raspy male voice comes in, and I wish I knew what he was saying. Okean El'zy is the most popular ukr rock band in 1999-2007. But basically among the girls:lol: Raspy voice??! ahahahhhahha:laugh3: yeah, probably, I like to hear it from independent listener. now I understand why they are not very popular in Europe. But they have some good songs anyway:P [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z5kUANtpos]YouTube- Okean Elzy - Mayzhe vesna[/ame] 9. Last Night On Earth - Green Day oooooh I like that piano in the intro. very nice. WOAH waitaminute... that’s Billie Joe Armstrong :wtf: I’ve never heard a Green Day song like this. or with lyrics like this. “My beating heart belongs to you,” “I’m sending all my love to you,” etc etc. well I’ve never been a green day fan, but this isn’t a bad song. Yeeeeah! haha its BJ and his Green Day! Always young sweet bastards have this great ballad on their last record  10. Small - Portishead really soft female singing over a simple guitar line, and then only over a....baritone sax line? I did listen to it the whole way through a few times, all 6 minutes 53 seconds of it, but it’s really not my cup of tea at all. sorry. I know it is too tangled and unusual song. But I placed it because I wanted you to listen this super soft singing at the beginning. Excuse me! :shame: 11. From Bollywood To Battersea - Babyshambles alright this song is definitely sounding a bit more exciting and upbeat. AH! the UNMISTAKABLE voice of Pete Doherty. Babyshambles probably. This is good, I like the Libertines a lot and have been meaning to listen to more Babyshambles and Pretty Dirty Things and such. Very interesting lyrics, and nice, happy acoustic guitar. Repeats the line: “It’s a long long way from Bollywood to Battersea." I like. Well guess! Song from "War Child - Help: A Day In The Life" where also was Coldplay - How You See The World;) 12. Get Yourself Together - Esthetic Education :awesome:This is also an upbeat, jaunty piano-driven song. “I got my superhero outfit on” – just the thing I like to hear. another tongue-in-cheek song. This singer is definitely a character and the lyrics are cool. There’s a good beat behind it, and it’s a really energetic song. It’s also really reminiscent of Sympathy For the Devil by the Stones. Minus the awesome guitar solos. And the voice is also very similar to that of Mick Jagger. This song has a lot of attitude. I like it. and the last line, as the crowd screams: “Shake. Those. White. Asses of yours!” :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:Esthetic Education again! I'm glad to read your words, what can i add?! their live performance always energetic and funny enough. “Shake. Those. White. Asses of yours!” 13. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want - Muse And of course, a Muser for an Ender. :D what else can I say? Right! Cover on The Smith great song! Matt's vocal as great as usual!:D ---------- Tracklisting: 1 - Esthetic Education - Ordinary Saturday 2 - VV - Dansez 3 - Bjork - Innocence 4 - The Mars Volta - The Widow 5 - Thom Yorke - Analyse 6 - Sarah Vaughan - Nice Work If You Can Get It 7 - Portishead - Sour Sour Times 8 - Okean El'zy - Ya Do Tebe 9 - Green Day - Last Night On Earth 10 - Portishead - Small 11 - Babyshambles - From Bollywood To Battersea 12 - Esthetic Education - Get Yourself Together 13 - Muse - Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want http://rapidshare.com/files/343778283/MixtapePYL.rar.html __________________ Thank you again!
