LOL to all your speculations. How about this for a compromise. They walk down the carpet "together" separated by 20 feet or so. Then they wave to each other, grin widely and blow kisses and join up in their seats. :D That way, they have appeared on the carpet "together" but not actually "together". :wink3: This suits Chris's personality a bit more, too. He loves toying with the media and I can just imagine the media uproar as they try to fit them both in the pic "together" . lol

Just listended to Joe's song and boy does that guy play a mean guitar. :) However, having also listened to countless hours of Coldplay I find it hard to believe that he will actually win this suit, for if that were the case, there would be a line of musicians queuing up behind Joe to have their day in court. And I say that with no malicious intent. I hear snippets of other artists all the time in Coldplay's music. It's alright to admit it. There's a lot of music out there. It can't be helped. Having said that I don't see Bono or Paul and Ringo having a go at the band and they have just as much right as Joe to cast their aspersions on them. I would hazzard a guess that, with almost absolute certainty, our dear Jonny has heard of Joe. Not only that I would guess that Jonny would give his left testicle to jam with Joe! :laugh3: Now that I'd pay to see.( Not the testicle part. .. ewww. ) From the gist of the article, it appears that Joe was pissed off by Coldplay's failure to respond to his claim and that's what lead him ultimately to sue them. That saddens me because a musician of his stature should have been counselled more wisely by advisors before he embarked on this journey of libelous intent. Whether or not he wins the case, it forms a dark cloud on his horizons. And more importantly, if this case does go to trial and if it is a juried trial then how on earth are they going to pick a jury? Where will they find 12 people who have not heard of Coldplay and who have not formed some opinion of the band one way or another? Hmmm. This may be their salvation. ;)

I have to agree with you, Mimixxx. I'm getting a distinct Aniston publicist vibe here, too. But it still makes me feel good even if it's a damn lie! :D I need some Martin/Paltrow intervention. :P

Gosh, it's so nice to be thrown a bone isn't it? I keep checking back just to read this little bit. Heaves a big sigh of relief but still harbouring a little deep seated fear that something may still be amiss in Camelot. :\ I'm a pessimistic optimist ( just some emotional voodoo insurance) so maybe everything will be okay. Chris was such a doll to send over tickets to the show, too. :)

Looks like some of Mary Kate's fashion sense rubbed off on Gwinnie whilst she trailed in close proximity to the Olsens at Heathrow last week! Egad! Please God, don't let her get too close to Amy Winehouse or we'll all be in for a right old treat. :o I thought she was eyeing Mary Kate with a little more than her usual dismissive perusal. I love Gwyneth but I think she enjoys pushing our plebeian buttons way too much at times. She almost seemed to be "havin' a laugh" during the interview. :D I know I was. ;) Can't wait to hear Chris' reaction to the film....but I know we'll probably never hear it. I agree with oldmuckers in that the songs that spark fond memories will be the "popular" ones and not necessarily those that we fans consider their finer moments. However, there's a lot of time between now and then. Who knows what direction Coldplay will take next. We may all be bopping to Coldplay Symphony 109 or in my case, shuffling and wiggling my ancient derriere.

My name’s Dee, btw and I’ve been reading this forum with enthusiasm for about 2 years now. Love you guys and all the great chatter. :) Ok, here’s my question: Do you think Coldplay has the staying power of the classic rock/pop bands…i.e. The Beatles, The Stones, Floyd, etc. and if so ( ahem, I’m pretty sure that would be a yes :P ), then what song(s) do you feel thus far would be their big signature song(s)? What song(s) would you think you would hear in 25 years and say fondly, oh yeah, I remember when….. As you can tell I’m a wee bit older than most of you guys but my taste in music is eclectic. I’ve enjoyed Coldplay since I was first introduced to their music in 2000 so I think it’s safe to say that I’m a fan. :D
