I think what that means is that they still have some time till they can say "LP5 is complete" but it's gonna be soon, very soon. I think BBC should say something like "Coldplay on the verge of finishing their "concept" album" rather than "releasing their new album".

By That I meant that they should for a theme that has a global appeal... Bono does it perfectly with songs like "One" etc.... I am not saying to rip off this theme or start imitating U2 like many other bands do but to come up with a theme that relates to everyone on some level or another i.e. become truly global.

Same here, I used to watch every episode like 2-3 times and also the reruns. The first season was "AWESOME" but in the fourth season it got kinda boring (jus a little)... I never thought they would scrap it off completely but after Marrisa's death, they didn't have a choice, did they?? Ryan and Marrisa were like "Perfect" on screen... I LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK !!! Every song that appeared in the episodes were beautiful... I discovered many great bands from "The OC"... I miss it.

The thing with concept albums is either they are extremely good (Radiohead Kid A) or can be disastrous (Linkin Park A Thousand Suns). I think "Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together." is a good theme line but I wished Coldplay would go for more "Worldy" themes such as Peace or political equality like U2. They are giving such mixed signals, first the "intimate acoustic songs", then this Concept album. I am very excited and worried at the same time, just wishing that these guys pull of something that defines them 20-30 years from now as "Rock Legends".

You guys did notice Chris telling Will about fixing his drums or something like that after the interview... right?? I think they still have some work to do before they can say "We have completed LP5" and looking at Parlophone and delay releases... I guess late 2011 is a safe bet.

I wonder how Brian Eno let Chris Martin name songs like 'Hurts like Heaven' and 'Every teardrop is a waterfall'... Honestly they seems very umm... Pop sounding songs, not Rock.. Pop. I hope I am proved wrong on this one.

As the release date is getting closer, the things are becoming further unclear. This time around the hype that was for 'X&Y' or VLV has died down. Previously everybody used to know a year in advance when coldplay is coming out with a new record but this time around things are a bit quiet (I AM TALKING IN RELATIVE TERMS). I hope I am proved wrong on this one. Personally, I want the boys to continue in VLV style (with great improvisation ofcourse) and produce a 'Joshua Tree' when the world least expects them. I am waiting for their Joshua Tree.... They day they do it... They are legends...
