Yes, Hollywood is indeed in a deep lack of ideas. I mean, have you guys seen the movies they've been taking out these last years? In my own opinion, cinema was much better a decade ago, when the special effects weren't as good as today, which lead people to think hard enough for a good movie idea. Today all the movies we see have perfect special effects, and that's where the ideas get lost. Everything is about destruction, explosions, scenes of violence and good-looking people. And making movies out of books is quite popular too, even if it rarely works out...

I think both where great, and what I liked about this movie is that it seems obvious someone has a real knowledge of the real canon, because there are references to it in many parts of the movie. AND, they didn't use the usual stereotypes of Sherlock Holmes (you know, the hat, the pipe, the coat, and stuff). :dozey:
