OOPS! I read your original post wrong. Yes, I agree it has lost some of its emotion. I accidently thought you were saying it had MORE emotion during the Viva tour, which I disagree with. I will read better next time. I'm sorry. ;)

I didn't come to that same conclusion. I saw them 5X on the Twisted Logic Tour, and 2X during Viva. I liked it better in the "old" days, however, it is still a "show stopper." It's just a great tune, and it is great live.

I didn't say they only had 3 or 4 descent songs. That was deaths_friends. You're not quoting me at all.

I think some people are misinterpreting my statement. 1. U2 is probably my favorite band of all time. 2. They have had some brilliant moments post-Achtung Baby. It doesn't get any better than Beautiful Day or City of Blinding Lights. 3. Because I still see flashes of brilliance, I hope they are able to put it all together and come out with album that is on par with some of their early stuff. 4. We know that U2 are capable of reinventing themselves and still being great. Look at the difference in style between, arguably, their two best albums: Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. 5. I always expect U2 to be great. I can't stand bands that "mail it in."

I've seen that performance several times, but I never mind watching it again. Two things: 1. I wish Fix You was still their closing song. 2. I wish Chris would still swing and throw that lantern.

Two street-level zealots does not explain the entire picture. But it is interesting to hear two viewpoints, even if the pro-Palestinian man is clearly more articulate. Therefore, the clip is not balanced.

Just a few points because this is a fascinating topic: 1. I disagree with yoyo911, bazooka06, and sunshine. Geopolitics is very complex and, therefore, I am not going to get into a point by point debate. I just want it to be known, again, that there is a dissent. By the way, I respect the right of yoyo911, bazooka06, and sunshine to hold their opinions. I would just caution that discussing politics is always going to lead to hard feelings even if it is not intentional. That said, I will try to heed my own advice. :) 2. The main focus should be on those who are losing their lives. This is especially true for the innocent civilians. I think we can all agree on that.

I have high hopes for this album. The ATYCLB and HTDAAB had some great moments, but they were spotty IMO. I don't think they have put out a great CD since Achtung Baby.

I don't have a problem with it. Music is suppose to be an emotional experience for people. Who am I to say that Hannah Montana is not good? It doesn't do it for me, but I know countless people who criticize Coldplay on the same grounds. And you know what, I don't care what other people think about Coldplay. I like it...even if there is more complex music out there. Musical elitism drives me nuts.
