Okay, here goes...
1) Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends.
I felt this one had to come first because there are no songs on the album that I get to and skip past; I love every single one of them. I remember being so apprehensive about this album coming out because I wasn't sure I was going to like their new direction, but I absolutley adore it :D
Top five songs - Death And All His Friends, Yes, Strawberry Swing, Viva La Vida, Cemeteries Of London.
The not so great - Probably Reign Of Love. I don't dislike the song, I just think it's the album's weakest point.
2) A Rush Of Blood To The Head.
This was an extremely close second. Some of the songs on this album are my favourite songs ever, let alone my favourite Coldplay songs. As much as I love the direction of Viva... I certainly wouldn't be complaining if they went back to this style.
Top five songs - Amsterdam, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Politik, The Scientist, A Rush Of Blood To The Head.
The not so great - Daylight and A Whisper. These are the songs I tend to skip past.
3) Parachutes.
I sometimes forget about this album because I tend to listen to Viva... and A Rush... a whole lot more than this or X&Y, but when I do go back and listen to this I'm always struck by how beautiful it is. A fantastic debut album - much stronger than many artists' whole collections of albums, in my opinion.
Top five songs - Shiver, Parachutes, Yellow, Everything's Not Lost, Spies.
The not so great - High Speed. Again, I don't dislike it, I just think the rest of the songs on the album are better.
4) X&Y.
Well something had to come last, and I put X&Y here because it's the album that I listen to least. I missed the rawness of Parachutes and A Rush... when this came out, and I just think it pales in comparison to the other three albums. That being said, there are still some great songs on here.
Top five songs - Fix You, Sqaure One, Swallowed In The Sea, 'Til Kingdom Come, A Message.
The not so great - Just the overall feel and flow of the album, really. :\
Phew, that was hard!
