I've been REALLY into The Clash the last year or so now and when I heard they were in Gorillaz now with Damon.. I wanted to die of happiness. I love how Damon brings musicians from all different backgrounds together and makes wonderful music with all of them.

Ly you need to tell me these things :P . I had a download to the album online a while ago that I found for Emma... but it seems to of been taken down now :( However this is a really cheap sight to buy music. The entire Plastic Beach album is only $2.16 in american dollars! http://www.gomusicnow.com/album.html?id=109377 If not all the songs are on youtube. If you have a PC you should download one of those youtube to MP3 convertors. If takes the song on you tube and turns it into an mp3 that is saved in your itunes or media player :D

I totally understand Ly. When I was at my parents house this summer even, it was so awkward when one of my good friends from here, Darcy sent me a little package.. my mom was like, "How do you know someone in Alaska?" :uhoh: We could always send you an online Christmas card if you like?

hahahah that botox smiley is still cracking me up, yes let's call it Angelina  Btw. Is anyone doing that secret santa thing in the Lounge? Where your matched up with a coldplayer and you send them a holiday or christmas card? I kind of want to do it, but in all honestly I don't like most ppl on the forum... only really you girls lol yes, I sound like a snob. If anyone else is interested in doing something like that in here maybe we could do a Damon/Blur/Gorillaz themed Secret Santa exchange of Christmas Cards? I just really want to make someone a Damon card for Christmas hahahah

The Damon Albarn thread.
Ohh yeah, I like a lot of the pics in that video :wacky: Louise, you should be proud. You made Gra smile :nice: At least your not like that chick who yelled out in his concert.... "How do you feel about some of the more excitable female fans at your gigs? You had a few offers at your Bedford Esquires show on 11 March 2004. Fliss Collier, London" GC: "I did! The problem about these offers is that they were during a show and there wasn't an awful lot I could do about them. I've never been told that before and I think I feigned being shocked quite well. It was quite forward of this young lady but it was very nice to hear as well, in a perverse way. What did she say? GC:She said, "I want to suck your dick". It was really loud and the whole venue heard. It was during a quiet bit in between songs when I was stuttering for something to say and, of course, I stuttered even more after that." via.. Oh my hahahaha naughty Graham! :sneaky: Oh no!! You should back that up asap girl! I mean your computer of course.. that sounded funny .."back that up asap girl"

Or just any of the gigs where he jumped in the audience half naked usually too :sneaky: A girl on last.fm said her and her friends got front row at one of their Hyde park shows last year and they kept yelling "We love you, Damon!" and he winked and blew them a kiss when he heard them!! :bomb: Still da flirt :charming:

Favourite Brit Pop Band
Yeah, I think most ppl consider Radiohead's OK Computer release to end the Britpop era. I don't know why it was bumped... I just wanted to put my 2 cents in there :P

Aww Shani that's too bad about inventory. And right? He sure was giving the fans their monies worth back during the Blur days  I have to find that quote where he says at one of their first gigs he pulled down his pants and underwear on stage when he was drunk and then looked at Graham. He says Graham was horrified all of the sudden and then Damon fell down to make it look like an accident after he realized how stupid that was :laugh3: I want to be at that gig

Good recommendations Shani :D And I knew you'd have a comment for that pic too, boys will be boys indeed ! It seems Paul and Cass are not looking that direction only because they seem to have spotted bigger tatas on the horizon... :laugh3:

Mmmm yes Jonas :freak: Well I'm sure Damon's had his fair share of that happening to him, crazed fangirls attacking him during Britpop dayz hahaha! He's never even been able to ride the London Tube cus girls recognize him and go crazy. Jamie though I doubt ever has to deal with that. He's not as famous or recognizable.

Favourite Brit Pop Band
THIS THREAD WAS MADE FOR ME :wideeyed: But this is all wrong... The only technical "Britpop" bands in that poll are Blur, Oasis and Travis. Coldplay and Radiohead came after the whole Britpop movement. And excuse me.. I just feel the need to represent mah boyz... the inventors of Britpop :smug:

You've probably heard some of their older singles and just didn't know it was them.. like Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc. , Dare... So I would say listen to those and then maybe umm On Melancholy Hill or Stylo from the new album.

Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste
My turn! :pimp2: pre 13 - I don't think I had much musical taste as a kid really. I mostly listened to whatever my mom was playing around the house, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, The Smiths, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Journey, Sheryl Crow, lots of oldies radio stations she would play. So I remember all those artists and growing up to them. 13-16 - I was 13 when I got A Rush of Blood to the Head and I remember wearing that CD out, guess that's when the CP obsession started. I was also still into Sheryl Crow a lot (her newer stuff now though sucks . But her older Globe Sessions and Tuesday Night Music Club stuff is still great! ) Also I really loved Death Cab for Cutie, Switchfoot, Train, Modest Mouse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Five For Fighting, Franz Ferdinand, just getting into Gorillaz when Demon Days came out, No Doubt, Imogen Heap, Jet, John Mayer, James Blunt, Keane, The Killers, The Strokes, The Hives, Theory of a Dead Man, a lot of random stuff I guess in there. 17-18 Near the end of that.. when I was still around 16 I also started trying to listen to all the bands that Coldplay would mention in their interviews  The bands that they liked Especially Jonny always had awesome bands to recommend like The Stone Roses, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Pixies.... Chris was always mentioning Radiohead, R.E.M., Oasis... Guy mentioning Kraftwerk and how he liked Blur :wacky::wacky: I remember wanting to listen to all of Kate Bush's stuff just because they said Speed of Sound was inspired by her song Running Up That Hill  No but really I have to give Coldplay credit for all the other great bands that I listen to now. 19 - present - I really don't know what my "musical style" is now, lots of British music for sure, especially Britpop and 80s British music. Coldplay is no longer my number one favorite band, which made me sad for a bit hahaha but they were bumped down by Blur. So my favorite bands now are: Blur, Coldplay, Radiohead, Kasabian, The Strokes, Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Manic Street Preachers, Mew, The Flaming Lips, The Smiths, The Clash, Joy Division, Sigur Rós, The Kinks, The Jam, The Teardrop Explodes, Sonic Youth, Pavement, The Cribs, Hey Rosetta!, Stone Roses, Elastica, The Good The Bad And The Queen, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Beck, Bat For Lashes, Florence + The Machine, Bauhaus, Wolfmother, The Doors, Echo & the Bunnymen, Jim Morrison, Pulp, Franz Ferdinand, R.E.M., The Pixies, Thom Yorke,Apparatjik, Damon Albarn, New Order, Deerhunter, Beach House, The Big Pink, Suede, Devendra Banhart, Wintersleep, Stars, Nirvana, Portishead, Wilco, MGMT, Tame Impala, Arcade Fire, Supergrass, Bjork, Foals, David Bowie, Metric, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Caribou, Kings Of Leon, Peter Bjorn and John, Kula Shaker, Queens of the Stone Age, Massive Attack, The Klaxons, Delphic, Eels, Goldheart Assembly, The Courteeners, Beruit, White Lies, U2, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Modest Mouse, Mumford and Sons, Los Campesinos!, The Coral, Band of Horses, The White Stripes, Graham Coxon, Johnny Cash, Vampire Weekend, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, Phoenix, Little Joy, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Imogen Heap, Arctic Monkeys, Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton, Buchanan, The xx, Blonde Redhead, Empire of the Sun, Happy Mondays, Interpol, The Velvet Underground, Bon Iver... and then some. Anyway, nice thread Greg :) I enjoyed reading these too.
