Thank you for your review, I enjoyed reading it and can understand where you are coming from. I'm honestly sorry that you regret doing it. I think in time, you might realise what a special opportunity this was and appreciate it over spending another Thanksgiving the way you normally would.

I agree with you on a level. It's incredibly insulting to those that would have loved to have gone, but couldn't. Just because it didn't go as planned or it didn't live up to your fantasies doesn't mean you should be downing HQ or coming up with conclusions you have no idea about. You still got to go and it was a fantastic opportunity that you should be grateful for. It's fine for them to express their 'opinion' - that's what this site is for - but I feel some posts have been incredibly condescending, whether they meant to or not.

Maybe the band had initially planned to meet them all, but it just wasn't possible? I mean the shoot was apparently behind schedule anyway since they didn't leave until 3AM or something. Apparently Phil said at the set they planned to do the Q&A but he was called to the set. Maybe he had to replace someone who couldn't be there, etc, etc. I'm just saying to be open to the possibilities of problems popping up and to not judge the band or it's management so quickly in regards to what was 'promised' or not.

I'm guessing because otherwise the media would have been all over it and make it more difficult to shoot. Chelsea already said they had the set with 'SNOWY OWLS' instead of 'COLDPLAY' to downplay the shoot...

Hey, I have no problem with you, your posts or the facts you present. I am just referring to other people on the boat posting things that update them. Such as Phil saying he WAS going to do the Q&A but then he ended up having to go to the set...

Haha, that's like me!! I'm from England, but live in the States now, so have a mid-atlantic kind of accent as it's faded a bit over time... it's weird... it gets stronger when I'm back in England though.

Um, ok, kind of rude. I don't believe I ever said you weren't free to discuss whatever you want on this board and based on the information everyone else on the boat was providing, it made it sound like the Q&A might have happened if Phil and Miller hadn't been on the shoot and Matt hadn't been sick.

That's fantastic! Thanks so much for staying up to write up a review! I'm so glad you got meet the whole band and sounds like they were very appreciative of your efforts (even though some on here seem to think they weren't). Like I said before, your story evidences the trials of a film shoot, and people tend to not think about all the logistics involved that might result in last minute changes, delays, etc. So happy for you, and can't wait for the pics!

If you read on one of the previous pages, Matt was sick. So that only leaves Miller who didn't show without an excuse... At least Debs showed up, right? You should have talked to her about your dissatisfaction on the boat!

Exactly. I understand people want to post their opinions, but I hope in doing so they don't ruin any future opportunities for the rest of us! They didn't have to do anything to be honest, and I don't want them to perceive us as being ungrateful for what we got. More room for me if it happens again then! Agreed! The experience of being able to participate in something coldplay-related in the flesh would be enough for me, no matter what it was!

Wow, I got back from Thanksgiving dinner and there are like a BILLION new posts?!?! WTF? What is up with all this back and forth banter?! Ok, so I can understand how many might feel jilted by the fact the evening didn't apparently go according to what was initially planned on. However, this thing was last minute and obviously stuff could change. Personally, I missed out on this because I changed my plans to visit home from this week to xmas. I would have loved to have been there, even if I didn't know anything of what to expect. Just to be a part of something coldplay-related is pretty amazing. By committing to go specifically for this event, you should have been prepared for anything and everything. Many of us don't know all the logistics involved in putting this together. It's easy to say they could have done more, but like many of you saying that those of us who didn't go weren't there and didn't experience it, you also don't know all the details in setting this whole thing up in order for you to be there! For all we know, it could have been a nightmare to set up, but they still took the time to do something for the fans. Just be happy you got to do it. You were so lucky. Sorry, rant over...

Wow interesting news development. So I guess the surprise was being in the video, but I wonder if they actually met the band? One of them said they saw them 'far away' so maybe they were able to watch the filming, and now they are on the boat trip Q&A, etc. that was discussed in the original announcement. Plus was Simon Pegg there as director? I mean, the fact they were even near the band is a bonus! They never said the band would be there, just everyone's imaginations ran away with them. I'm sure they are having a wonderful time. A raffle for a signed 'Mince Spies' and Coldplay karaoke?!?! Arrgh, that's just :awesome: in itself!!

LOL, me too, with my dad... although I was originally going to be in England this week visiting my mum and sister (but moved it to xmas), so I WOULD have been on that boat! :bigcry:

Don't worry, similar thing happened to me... oh well, can't do anything about it now! I just wish some coldplaying karma would come my way, lol. I seemed to have missed out on most of this stuff, albeit i've been close so many times! Here's hoping I get to meet at least one member of the band when I'm in London in January and I go snooping! :sneaky:

They will have departed by now... i just can't even imagine what is going on in that boat!! And WE have to probably wait another 6 or 7 hours to find out! :sick:
