I decided to learn to play an instrument. Which one? Basicly my mom told me that she doesn't like me sitting around the whole day, on the computer doing nothing, which I totally don't I do stuff I hang around with my friends, go swimming, etc. So I tried to prove her wrong,that even if I do spend lots of time on the computer I actually learn new things everyday and especially when I come on here I meet lots of new people everyday and learn things about them and their countries/cultures/whatever and besides it's not like I just sit on coldplaying the whole time. There's also this other dumb thing she wants me to do, I have to get 40 community service hours in order to graduate, I have like 20. So she wants me to go volunteer somewhere and get like a 100, because it would look good on your college application and resume, but I totally refure to, because I think if your grades are high (mine are high) who the fuck would care how many hours did you spend helping out your community, I'm not even planning to stay here as soon as I graduate, for real I'm outta here. The second reason and I've been getting yelled at for mentioning that, I think it's kind of like fucking child labour, see when I go to my work place I get payed for doing my job, if I go to volunteer to an elementary school to help babysit little kids, I'm most likely to come home with a headache and a paper with a signature and number of hours I spent in that torture place, and maybe a 'thank you'. Don't get me wrong I love helping out people, one of my friends has a charity and I'm more than glad helping her out. But you shouldn't be forced into doing it. Also my mom told me that I'm probably getting dumber and dumber from day to day because I stopped reading as much as I used to, but I do, I haven't been reading as much lately because I'm trying to find a good book, instead of spending my time on some 'teen fiction'. Well she said it's better than nothing. I also used to paint before, my parents think I don't right now because once again I'm too lazy, but again not true, i have been drawing a lot lately I'm just trying out different kinds of arts. Oh yes, so back to why I was making this thread, I've always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, I've been in a school band before and I played the trombone lol, and I've also learned how to play some basic keyboard stuff too, but I'm pretty sure I don't remember any of it. So I wanna take lessons, but I'mnot sure what kind of instrument I want to play. I was thinking I wanna try either piano/keyboard or guitar either acoustic or bass. :thinking: So yeah what are your thoughts? And I'm sorry if you fell asleep while you were reading all that.
