What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
today one of my least favorite Coldplay songs of all time is resonating with me, so I guess my song today would have to be Speed of Sound (even worse than A Message, Brdforallseasons!!)

Cleo (Australian) Magazine Blog Montreal and Chris Martin
Wow, I wish my next door neighbor looked like Chris Martin :laugh3:. Mine's a 40 year old bald guy with 3 kids. I'd be spending a lot more time next door if I lived next to a Chris look-a-like!!!

Gwyneth...
I'd say he and Apple both need some new clothes:laugh3:...how many pics have we seen of her lately wearing those green pants and that maroon shirt?? She must be dressing herself these days, as my kids get hooked on something and have to wear it every day too.....fortunately we don't have people taking pictures of us on a daily basis, so no one knows!!!

Coldplay Fans Who Use iTunes...
Pete Yorn is good, and also touring with Coldplay this summer. I like Beck a lot too. Some people here don't agree, but Radiohead is always a good listen. I'm a big Grateful Dead fan, and they have enough music out there to keep you listening for quite sometime.....it's fun summer music!! This Killers are good too. Oh, and if you are in the mood for something fun and funky, Michael Franti and Spearhead is a good listen (try Everyone Deserves Music). Interesting factoid.....I've taught yoga to Michael Franti......he stopped by my studio when he was in town last year!! I keep hoping Chris Martin will drop by sometime!!! I don't think I'd be able to speak and lead the class if he did though.

Cool, I reallly like Beck, but it's a little random!!

Coldplay Fans Who Use iTunes...
All 25 of mine are Coldplay.....Don't Panic has 41 listens, with Square One and Shiver tied for second place. Funny, because none of there are really my favorites. I don't listen via iTunes often, and when I do I shuffle through my entire library, so it is purely by luck that Coldplay have the top 25 slots. Here's an odd combo for you....KT Tunstall and Beck are close seconds!!!

Vegetarian?
No, I do not eat dairy based ice cream or milk chocolate (and in case you wonder, I don't eat gelatin, marshmallows, or milks from other animals). As I said, the animals for the dairy industry are treated just a inhumanely as the animals used for the flesh industry, so I do not partake in any goods that promote cruelty. Just because the animals are not killed does not mean they are not mistreated. Also, if you partake in the dairy industry you are supporting the cruel and inhumane treatment of the calves that become veal. All male calves born into the dairy industry get sold to produce veal. So, supporting the dairy industry means you are supporting having baby cows locked in crates so small they can not move, and then malnourished and killed at a very young age. And, also, just because the animals aren't directly killed to produce milk or eggs, they are killed when they are deemed no longer useful to the industry. Which is at a shockingly early age because their bodies become spent after so much forced production. Let's look at it this way......humans are the only animals on earth that continue to drink milk once they've been weaned. And, worse yet, they drink milk from another species. When you really think about it, it's not normal or natural is it? I'm assuming that you are an adult and you've been weaned from your mother's milk for quite some time now. Would you drink human milk now? Most of us are disgusted at the thought of drinking human milk as an adult......why are we not disgusted to drink milk from another animal? It's bizarre, really. And, if you really want to delve into this, the eggs that hens lay are really just a part of their menstrual cycle, same as when a human ovulates each month. Even if hens weren't exploited for their eggs, when thought of in this regard it just disgusts me to eat an egg. It's just that simple for me. It's not necessary for my health or my survival, at it's root it's disgusting, and universally, it's cruel. I get all of the nutrients I need from vegetable sources, fish is an unnecessary part of the diet, all of the essential fats found in fish is available in plant based sources. Plus, because of pollution, most of the fish we consume these days is terribly contaminated. I supplement my diet with a multivitamin once a day, one serving of spirulina once a day, and an additional vitamin B12 once a week. And, even people eating a flesh based diet should be supplementing with a multivitamin, so it's not as if I am taking a bunch of stuff that I wouldn't otherwise take. And, yes...no honey, no wool. I don't consume honey because bees do not make honey for humans to consume. Honey belongs to the bees, it is their food in the winter time. Not to mention that the bees are killed when it's time to harvest the honey. And I don't use wool, again because the sheep do not make wool for us. It belongs to them (*see note) By the way, I don't support the circus, take my kids to the zoo, watch or support any kind of animal racing (horse or dog), would never in a million years be caught dead at a rodeo......I think you get it, right, to the best of my ability I participate in NOTHING that supports animal cruelty or exploitation. Unfortunately it's unavoidable to participate to some degree because our cultures have become so numb to animal cruelty that it pops up nearly everywhere (glue and adhesives contain animal by products, some of the parts in your computer contain animal by-products, several parts of your automobile contain these by-products). Animal cruelty is unfortunately a pervasive part of our society. It may seem a little extreme, but I truly believe that every being on this planet just wants to be happy. And it's my view that exploiting animals for their by-products or for our entertainment is not what makes them happy. (*my in-laws live in ireland and they assure me that the sheep are treated humanely, and that it is actually good for them to be sheared. I don't know if this is true or not, it might be and their wool might get used to produce some small scale items in that country. However, I am quite sure that the sheep that are raised for mass produced wool items are in fact mistreated. And, maybe it is good for them to get sheared, but that doesn't mean we have to use their wool. I'd feel totally different about this if I could ask a sheep if it wanted me to use it's wool and it said yes, but since that's not the case, I'll assume that since sheep can't talk they don't want us to use their wool.)

Vegetarian?
There was no incentive for me to stop (unless you count better health). When I found out how horrendous factory farming was I just decided that there was no way that I could contribute to such cruelty. I do not eat dairy products or eggs either. The animals used for the dairy and egg industry are treated just as inhumanely as the animals used for their flesh. Male cows that are born into the dairy industry become veal, and females become milk producers. They are ripped away from their mothers, and inseminated as early as possible. These cows are inseminated over and over again to keep them lactating, and thier offspring are cruelly ripped from them at birth each time. Hens that lay eggs are treated in much the same fashion. Male chickens are useless to the egg industry and are thrown into plastic bags to suffocate. And I'm sure you all know about how crammed the quarters are for our egg layers, with the hens unfortunate enough to be at the bottom receiving all of the excriment from the hens above them. I could go on and on, but I won't, these things are easily researchable on your own if you are interested. And no, I don't eat fish...if you eat fish you are NOT a vegetarian. I do not consume any animal products at all, no honey, no leather, no wool, etc. Animals do not make these things for human consumption. They are completely unnecessary for my life, and I choose not to take them.

Vegetarian?
Actually, they do affect you.....Livestock farming produces more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire transportation industry. Fresh water is wasted on livestock farming, corn and grain are used in massive quantitites to feed these animals, 1/5 of that amount is required to feed a human. Livestock farming is destroying our planet.....the same planet that we all share, therefore, affecting you. Consuming meat also directly affects your health. Obesity, heart disease, many forms of cancer, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, etc. have all been associated with meat consumption. There are also many who believe that the energy we take in from our food affects us. Imagine all of the negative energy you consume with each bite of flesh......fear, anger, violence.....is that really what you want to be putting into your body?? I understand that you feel you aren't affected by this, I haven't been a vegetarian my whole life, and I once took the same view you have. However, before you make such a broad assumption, I urge you to do some research regarding meat consumption and animal farming. You will be surprised what you find out. And remember, at some level, we are all connected, so what affects one of us, affects us all.

Vegetarian?
Yes, omnivore is the more exact term for humans, and evolutionarily speaking it may have been important for us to begin eating flesh at some point. The point is, that it is no longer necessary, and is in fact unhealthy. But more to the point, it is incredibly cruel. Just have a look at this if you don't believe me. Unfortunately this lack of regard for life has further reaching affects than just the animals that are treated cruelly. Often times the human beings that work in these conditions have become so numb to the violence that they often abuse substances to remain numb. They also exhibit a lack of regard and compassion for other humans, whome they often times abuse (namely their peers and family). I applaud your choice to include more vegetarian choices in your diet, you are doing a fantastic thing for your health and for the welfare of other beings!!!

Those kids singing Viva are incredible. I really like how some of them are getting into it!!! And the prize, well, don't really need it as I already have an iTouch and and iPhone, but I sure would like one with the Coldplay logo carved into it. Alas, I will not be greedy, seeing that I am fortunate enough to have an iTouch already, so I'll leave the prize for the rest of you to win.

I'm on Coldplay.com!
Makayla, that's awesome. I thought it was so cool to see my name on the sight when the Oracle answered one of my questions......but to see a picture of you and your dog, how incredible!!!

Vegetarian?
Not the only one...I'm vegan as well. No meat, dairy, eggs or honey. I don't use or buy products that have animal by-products or that have been tested on animals. I don't wear leather, wool, or other animal products either. Just a bit of info for those of you that say humans are meant to eat meat.....our bodies aren't actually designed like the bodies of true carnivorous animals. First, our incisor teeth aren't nearly sharp enough to rip apart raw flesh. Our molar teeth are flat, carnivores are not. Our jaw moves up and down and side to side, making it easy to grind plant foods. Carnivores jaws only hinge up and down, ideal for chewing through tough flesh. Our intestinal track is very long, for extracting nutrients from plant foods. The intestinal track of a carnivore is very short, best to quickly eliminate decaying meat. And finally, the liver of a carnivore contains the enzyme Uricase, used to break down the uric acid in meat. The Liver of a human has a low tolerance for breaking down uric acid from meat. So really, humans are not meant to eat meat. Besides the physiological evidence, meat consumption is a completely uneccessary part of the diet. It pollutes our environment worse than our addiction to our automobiles, and it is terribly, terribly cruel

Gwyneth...
You know, I'm sure it sucks to have the pap's chasing you around everywhere you go, it's such an invasion of privacy. But let's face it, if we quit buying the tabloids and searching the internets for the pictures, maybe the paps wouldn't need to take pictures of them any more, right???? And I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but don't you guys think if Chris and Gwynnie just let go of all of this strange "not being seen together" crap the paps would lose a bit of interest in them. I mean really, they create this air of mystery and secrecy, what do they expect.

I agree that his time is probably spoiled knowing that he paps are there following him around. But, maybe it's late in the day as well........a long day at Disney with two small kids can turn "un-fun" right quick. We just took our kids (5&3, so close in age to Chris's kids) to Disney and I'm sure that my husband and I didn't look like we were having the time of our lives by the end of the day either.

Gwyneth...
I doubt he's wearing a bullet proof vest......that'd be a bit paranoid don't you think?? I mean, I don't think there's anyone that actually would want him dead. Why wouldn't every famous person in LA need a bullet proof vest. Maybe he's just wearing another shirt under, or maybe it's just the angle of the photograph. If he were however wearing kevlar, I'd have to say he might be going a little bit nuts, just sayin'.

Just curios, what was her reaction a few days ago?? I feel so sorry for those kids. It must be frightening to have people shouting and taking pictures of you everywhere you go. As much as I love the candid pics of Chris, I wish the paps would just leave them alone.
