Maybe about the new songs? :P

I'm from Germany and I'm sure there is a transmission. But sorry I don't want to hear the new tracks the first time live... so I don't look out for a radio station... :(

They have still 23 minutes to play. ;) Why they shpuld change their setlist in comparism to 31th may?

Bad sign? :P He wrote something about new songs and then this one! ;)

I bet the'll play 7 new songs today.

I think it is the same setlist as 31th may - so ETIAW is the last one!

It seems that they really play 6-7 new songs as Twitter said... the same gig like 31.5.?

Yeah, maybe they just played a unknown one from one of the last albums - maybe an acoustic number or so (e.g. Death will never conquer) and all thought this is a new song. We have to wait and see the videos.

I would prefer if they play at first only the old ones + ETIAW because I want to hear the new songs on CD and not live - at least the first time. ;)

Yeah. But it is awful for me to hear how pop-y and manstream-y this song would be. I can't understand this reactions. Also because they critizice also the whole post-AROBTTH-era and this depressed me in a way. I have to listen to ETIAW and then I'll smile again. ;)

Right. Like a studio rule say: Computers aren't recording helps, they are instruments. So true.

I can't understand your critics on the lyrics. I spoke with a good friend and Coldplayfan today about the lyrics and we are very happy about the lines. I think that there is of course a certain depth in it and I think that the lyrics are much better than some parts of VLV or X&Y. SOME!

It depends often on my mood but X&Y wasn't sooo god I thank. Don't get me wrong I still think it is a GOOD album but I hear it not often. There are 2-3 songs of Parachutes and AROBTTH which I don't prefer but thats ok because a good band can make some "not so good" songs - thats normal. Also there are some B-sides I don't like. But in conclusion I have to say that I hear nearly every Coldplay song. That doesn't mean that I LOVE every song but I can enjoy listening to them, some more some less...

Well, and a "signature sound" of a band can't be changed? What if they wanted to change in particular this "signature sound"? Why that is so bad? I can't understand you, sorry. But I really enjoy if a band don't make the safe thing and varied this signature sound only in a way. For me the biggest adventure is that you can not say what the signature sound of a band is like but that they do it in a very good way. And this is how I feel today.

I'm also a fan since AROBTTH and I really love Viva and ETIAW. For me, with the Viva-Era they show the first time their really talent and potential, because they show how various they could be. So it's really nice for me to have both sides, AROBTTH and Viva and i'm really curious what there will be in this post-AROBTTH-era because now they are brave enough to do risky things and not only the same a little bit varied. I didn't mean that all fans of the beginnings disappears when a band develop, I wrote "some". Most people here like also Viva so its only a small part which is so consequent and "leave" Coldplay. But this is very often the case when a band decide to make new stuff and not only the same things about 20 years. Personally I think that this process is indeed ordinary.

Its because I heard Clocks 100000000000000 times, ETIAW is new, fresh. I'm in a good mood, its sunny outside, some fresh winds... nice summer day. I prefer Clocks at night. I'm curious about LP5-era and the pre-song is great in my way of thinking. The era of AROBTTH is finished for me, I really love the songs but at the moment I feel like: Let's do something new! And I think also that ETIAW is more complex than clocks. Clocks is more structured and clearer in melodic and atmosphere. ETIAW hits more musically places, it is in a way bigger if you know what I mean. It's more various...I like it very much, similar to Clocks...

Coldplay won't any time release a album with 10 songs which sounds exactly. They learned of X&Y and also in a way of AROBTTH/Parachutes. Consequently you'll hear different songs with different characters - like Viva!

I thought its too popular and commercial for you? So the stadium have to be filled, or not?! :rolleyes:

And there will be tousands of new fans which replace this old, "die-hard" fans who are just depressed because Coldplay didn't relase album in the same way like AROBTTH. This is a normal process: A band want to make something new, there are often many new fans but on the other side some old fans "leave"...

Which songs except Viva la Vida are really commercial songs? Only because it is succesfull it doesn't mean it is commercial. Viva la Vida is the musically best album of Coldplay, with many variations, new instruments, different characters... the question is how you like it. The other albums have nearly the same tune and the songs are very similar to each other. Viva has great differences in style and tone. But its your choice which album/style you prefer, this is a personal decision.

Truely, at the moment I prefer ETIAW much more. @locust Why you blame always Brian Eno? It was not Eno which contacted Coldplay, Coldplay WANTED TO DO SOMETHING NEW because the feared that we fans are bored with always the same stuff - and this is also right. Coldplay wanted to change something, it wasn't eno who forced them!
