blankshore, I think you are right, and adding to your 'analysis', the song seems full of longing followed by violent realisations (the 'cynical chant' you mentioned). From 1:30-1:43, the ooohs sound like longing and the electronic, clicking sort of noise sounds like a "hopeful transmission"!

If you look on itunes, Paradise is available to purchase through the actual album, Mylo Xyloto, however, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, or Major Minus, are not. Does this mean that the album will include different versions of these songs?

Anyone else feel that Hurts Like Heaven is kind of like a more cheerful version of 42? Hurts Like Heaven almost feels like the transition between the two albums, an extension of 42, but a different mood. It's kind of hard to explain but when I think about it it's beautiful. A more obvious way of looking at this is, the guitar solos are very similar and 'So Cold, So Cold' sounds musically similar to 'You didn't get to heaven but you made it close'. Also the lyrics about heaven etc. Tell me what you think.
