spotify and ipods
I've heard how great spotify is and have it myself now. Thing is that I'm not impressed. Sure, I can listen to music from all over which is nice. But, what I really want to do is take spotify playlists from blogs and websites and listen to them on my ipod. Is this possible? If so, how does it work? Thanks in advance.

The wonderful Spotify
I'm one of those who has waited for this for a long time. Now that I have it, I'm sort of overwhelmed in that I don't know all the ins and outs of it. Granted, it's been less than 24 hours since getting it. Still, it would be nice to know some of the essential stuff like playlists and stuff instead of finind out about the most important goods months later. I don't get much of the lingo, but say for instance, I want a Zane Lowe spotify playlist. Can that go onto my ipod too or just streamed on my computer through spotify? Any tips and suggestions are always welcome. Thanks.

Greatest DJs/Best Playlists /Music Blogs
Who are some of the best djs in the world...or radio stations. BBC Radio 1 and XFM are good, but surely there's more.... Also, any recommendations for cool music blogs?

Until the next LP
This might dip into other pre-posted threads, but what bands/music are you listening to until the next Coldplay album?

ankle dork - random question
and my point went totally over your head.
-
ankle dork - random question
It was the low-tone pop, much different than the cracking. I have a good friend who's a nurse and said it could take up to a month.

ankle dork - random question
time, money and insurance is what prevents me from going to the doctor. as i stated in first post, there's very little pain when i walk, except for the occasional jolt. no foot pain except the rare times at the end of the day where it feels tired and heavy, but i'm not limping. actually, i've been told movement like walking and swimming which i've been doing helps make the ankle stronger. my friends have told me to wait a month and see if anything changes. i'm only concerned because of the swolleness that remains and of course the 'pop' i heard. look, i was just wondering if someone had a similar situation and if they relied on the human body to heal overtime or went to medicine, which i think society does far too often, but that's a different story. anyway, thanks for your reply.

i've rolled my ankle before too but never actually heard a pop until now. that's what concerns me, the popping sound.

ankle dork - random question
first off, sorry, i doubt this is the right place to ask, but i will anyway. to make a boring saga short, i have a random question about my ankle. basically i was playing soccer about five weeks ago when, like a complete oaf, sprained my ankle. i heard it pop so it was pretty painful the first few hours. very swollen and bruised too. within 24 hours i could pretty much walk on it normally. since then the pain is virtually gone with the ocassional jolt of aches, which have been minimal. my foot does feel more tired and heavy by the end of the day. anyway, i elevated, ice, rested it the first week. i haven't gone to the doctor yet, because the swelling has decreased and the brusing is now gone. however, my ankle is still swollen and the skin around it is stiff. should i go the doctors to have it checked out? or just wait and see if it goes down more overtime? sorry, boring question i know.

sxsw bands 2011
What are some good bands to be on the lookout for this year, particulary from the UK region? I don't mean angsty indie snobs either. Or better yet, what are some albums to be on the look out for in the coming weeks?

rar files, unzip programs
it's happening with all of my newest files, though.

rar files, unzip programs
Message says: WinRar: Diagnostic message: unexpected end of archive. What does that mean and what can I do to fix it. 7zip failed as well.

rar files, unzip programs
My stupid winwar software has gone to the dogs. granted, it was a free version. have downloaded several new versions, all which have ultimately resulted in going nowhere. all my rar files cannot be unzipped (whatever the lingo is) because that annoying yellow triangle with the exclamation mark comes up for each try. What other good rar files beside winrar are good to use and free to boot? better yet, anyone know why this would happen and what can i do to fix it?

help!
a lame, petty and off topic question but I'd appreciate any advice, especially if you've also experienced this. i ordered some books from amazon, with ups delivering here in the states. i was super pumped about these books so i even doled out the extra cash so they'd get here today. well, the books didn't show up today. no that big a deal, right? Well no. Besides paying the extra cash, the tracking numbers on both amazon and ups say that the books were delivered this afternoon, which is bullshit. I got home about an after the said package was supposedly delivered, so surely it couldn't have been swiped in that short amount of time... I know it's been less than 24 hours, but I'm annoyed and pissed off with UPS. How long whould I wait before contacting them and the sellers?

Thanksgiving/November/Rocking Playlist
Boring question but next week is Thanksgiving. I'll no doubt be stuck doing the dishes with the sporadic help of others who drift in and out, and I'm left with piles of pots and pans to dry while relatives and siblings drink wine by the fire and set up board games. Now, my plan is to make them stay and help out the whole time without me directly telling them to. Or, me remaining in a good mood despite if it's only me left in the kitchen with a mountain of plates. Anyway, what is a good playlist to do the dishes to that is not offensive,(young and old milling in the house), something upbeat, peppy, fresh, maybe seasonal and something that would make others be nice and help with the post-thanksgiving feast. I'm thinking along the lines of James Brown, that tune about "dance and you'll feel better". you know, something that will perk them up and not go into a stooper. Any suggestions you have are welcome but please no beatles, no rolling stones or the who. luv, one scullery maid

Your Playlists
Those who have their pulse on good, indie rock bands, from uk or elsewhere, list some of those songs or your own personal playlists. Songs should preferably be fairly recent or current.

Steve Lamacq's Playlist?
Could someone out there copy and paste Steve Lamacq's playlists of any sort? It's complicated, but I live elsewhere where finding a complete list of new and cool music from such a brilliant dj is nearly impossible. Also, BBC6music playlists count too.

Best albums of the year ...plead for 2003-2007
I never "bad mouthed" it. Defensive is the right word, not threathened. None of that matters with this specfic posting anyway. I assumed too quickly. Fin.

Best albums of the year ...plead for 2003-2007
How could you not think any if not all of the albums that have been posted are not great? Exactly. And hey, that doesn't mean I don't respect the bands mentioned either! I'll never know why people suddenly become combative when it comes to taste in music.

Best albums of the year ...plead for 2003-2007
Have most of those listed. Many are good, some are not. None of them are great. I've grown to become a big music snob, I guess. That doesn't mean the suggestions should stop.

Best albums of the year ...plead for 2003-2007
I really wish music was good as it was during the UK post punk /1980s revival some seven years ago (2003-2007)...we had it all then, from franz ferdiand to snow patrol...everything seemed so fresh. Now it seems blah blah blah. I know that I may not be looking in the right places but could someone please name a few or make a list of some great bands and music coming out this year? 2009 counts too, I suppose. Somebody please spin my perspective and prove to me that this is a worthy year in music so far...

South by Southwest Festival - New Bands
Cool. I have to say, however, that I'll forever avoid Joanna Newsom like the plague. I was asked to review her horribly long album. Couldn't do it!

South by Southwest Festival - New Bands
What are some new bands playing at SXSW that one should explore and discover?

what do you do when cd burner is broke or gone
That doesn't help. I do buy physical albums, so don't lecture me on that. Hoes does your comment even relate to my question?? Location prevents me finding many physical cds. Digital is the now. Wake up.
