Track 1: I like this, the start is kind of sudden but it's really soothing. It really reminds me of other stuff that I've heard but I can't really put it in place. As the song progresses though it gets a bit much of the bleeps in the chorus/verse. But in general it's a good track to start off with.
Track 2: The song starts up with weeping strings and a regular drum beat. I can't really say if it is a male or a female voice but I really like this song. The strings comes in again as the chorus starts and I really like the sound of it. Now I'm starting to think it's two voices, it makes cringe a little bit. I like the acoustic bass that goes through the song. The song finish off with a double tracked only vocal. And it's sounds really good.
Track 3: The track starts off with a acoustic guitar and vocal comes in I can't tell if it's a male or a female singer again. The chorus comes in pretty early but it's fantastic. Too bad the chorus kind of ends in a disappointing way. The chorus goes 'Set the dark on Fire' which I guess is the title of the song. The verse goes into the chorus pretty quickly which makes it hard to reach to a climax of the song. The song ends with the same acoustic guitar as it starts with.
Track 4: This track starts with a fast piano riff and later a guitar comes in. Unfortunately, when the vocals comes in I immediately lose interest. There just is something with these kind of voices that makes me uncomfortable.
Track 5: This song is also kind of obsolete if you compare to the first 3 tracks, but it's definitely has something that makes me want to keep listening to it. I like the guitar which has a rougher noise. It kind of reminds me of Red Hot Chilipeppers which aren't really my type of band but it still is an ok track.
Track 6: The track starts with begins with a very reverbed guitar, this song also goes into chorus pretty quickly and goes 'You color my black and white days' which is kind cheesy. Otherwise the song doesn't really have something noticeable in the song except for the reverbed guitar. Almost the whole song was the chorus and that was one of the things that made it kind of boring.
Track 7: I heard immediately that it was Empire of The Sun, and I actually like this song. The song has a lot of space and the electronic noises fits his voice good. I tried the album though and didn't like it too much.
Track 8: The song begins with a nice beat and as soon as the vocal I Immediately hear that it is Florence and The Machine. And I like it. I really like it. Her voice haven't really appealed me in the songs that I've heard but this one actually fits her perfectly. I really like things that happens in the end, and before the last chorus begins the nice beat that was playing in the beginning. The song ended kind of abrupt but I really liked for all the stuff happening in it.
Track 9: The song begins with squiggly noises and then goes into a regular guitar and drum + keyboard sound. The song is very optimistic but it feels like it has an ironic happiness into it. I just imagine a guy jumping around singing with a fake smile on his face. But it's pretty good musically and the organ that goes through the verse I like. In the end he makes weird noises and it with him saying 'BA' very abruptly. This song was good musically but lyrically it disappointed a little.
Track 10: The song starts off with an 'under water' effect but it soon goes into a real beat. The song is pretty dreamy and very spacey. But it still has something that sounds like African beats. The chorus goes something like 'Today's the day tonight's the night'. The male voice sounds a little British and I really enjoy it. I like the times he goes into falsetto and it really bring things to the song.
Track 11: This song starts off with a very heavy guitar. As fast i hear the voice I get that feeling again, it makes me uncomfortable. Unfortunately this isn't really my glass of juice.
Track 12: It starts really up tempo, and as the vocals comes in I kind of like it. The song goes through in a pretty good way. Too much things isn't happening but it's pretty good in general. I like the guitar riff that comes in before the second verse. It reminded me of Arctic Monkeys but also a lot of other things. Anywho, I enjoyed it fairly well!
Track 13: I'm really sorry it must be the same band or something, but I'm really having a hard time judging this song fair. It just doesn't appeal to me. The only thing that makes me kind of interested is his Scottish accent, but it kind of makes me laugh too :lipsrsealed2:
Track 14: This is David Grohl singing was my first thougt, this song as pretty neutral. But since I haven't really liked Foo Fighters it is pretty good.
Summary: The mixtape started off really good but kind of lost all of it's charm somewhere in the middle. But it was really nice listening to unexplored genres :nice:
Hope I wasn't too honest :surprised:
