Here's how you can tell if the song is good or not: Do you like it because it is truly great? Or Because it is simply the next Coldplay single to be released? Most of you (including me to a large extent) will like their music not because it is good (which it is 99% of the time) but because it's a Coldplay song. We're staring to fall in love with the band, rather than their music... That's why a lot of people "like" this rather awful song....not because it is good but because they want it to be good and because it is a Coldplay song.... I almost fell for the same thing but after hearing it and taking a moment to pause and think deeply....i though "wait....I don't like this!" :bigcry: EDIT:I understand that this is the "positive" thread so I'll be on my way :)

Isn't that helping my argument? I'll laugh my a** of if tomorrow they announce that this ETIAW song is really just some tune that they put together last week and decided to release to pull one over us....

Viva was an amazing Pop song..possibly because it probably was not intended to be one...Chris said himself that they did not think that it would be that well liked...and here they are today...trying to make a pop song now because the last one actually worked...

That was amazing!!!! It sure sums up my opinion of it! If Rodie #43 makes a new "blog"...he'd better include this...

Why? I really can't stand it when bands try to sample or take other people's music (or imitate it) in their own songs...it's a sign of laziness if you ask me. I understand if you make something and then..."oh...that's sounds a bit like XXXXX" but just outright sampling is something for the RAP industry.....it sucks in general and "lacks originality". :\ In my opinion, nothing short of Chris totally obliterating his vocals/going crazy and making Rodie #43's "interview" come true will result in Coldplay producing something worse than ASARY (worst thing ever....that is...until "Friday" came out :dozey:) or Lost+ (which was just crap...plain and simple....) There is bound to be at least one decent track on this album (hopefully we'll get more than 9 tracks which for some reason Chris is obsessed with...)

But the thing is "Poptastic" is not Coldplay at all... Every time they tried this, they get bad reviews....ASARY, and Lost + comes to mind here..... They need to stick to what they are good at, soft rock....rock the boat! go against the current! That's what they've taught me in life and now, they are going mainstream..against what they have stood for IMHO....the route of what's "cool" right now... Overall, with the way ETIAW sounds, coupled with what Chris has been saying, it seems like the word "disappointment" comes to mind to many fans...both Pre and Post VLVODAAHF. To be totally honest, they should have kept FOP, finished it (if it is not already finished) and made that the Debut single...the instrumental rocks!

Wow Debs...now I feel bad. Perhaps hate was used out of context for me and all the others... I think disappointed is a better word come to think of it.... It's not as bad as Friday (as one person claimed)..no where even close.... but still....

I'm not telling them what they can and cannot write at all.... They can write total crap (which they did in this case) and I can't do anything about it but complain and hope the next song is better. And I'm not the only one who hates the song. This song is really going to have mixed reviews and once again, the band will lose more old-stuff fans and gain more bubble-gum pop Beiber fans....yay.:rolleyes:

Obviously Chris and the rest of the band seems to have forgotten the end of Fix You: "I promise you I will learn from my mistakes" :dozey: Perhaps they need to make a remix of that song and replace "learn from" with "repeat all" (in regards to the total shit that was the B-side A Spell A Rebel Yell...which this song reminds me of :() if this trend continues on the other songs from LP5.... BTW, when I first heard VH and VLV, I LOVED IT. It reminded me of a soft version of a Nirvana song..... This is truly the first time that I really hate one of their singles...
