Further thoughts: Personally, X&Y was the peak of Coldplay's popularity with me. Viva was a great album, don't get me wrong, it was possibly better than X&Y but it was still such a dramatic change that it took a bit of getting used to for me....it had less piano, and more...synths? Whatever...still, while it was a bit "odd" I still loved several tracks from it. When I head the FIRST demo of Wedding Bells, I was thinking "Yes! They're going back to AROB!" And my suspicions grew after hearing CL. Then...we started to hear about the content of LP5 and what it's influences were....I was devastated... But I still had hope that Chris was just talking BS like he does every now and then....:dozey: But after hearing this, my suspicions are confirmed...the Coldplay that I know and love...will never the same...it's all over...:cry: I's sooooo pissed right now I'm slamming on the keys!!!!!! :cry:

Gotta say...this song absolutely BLOWS.....:cry: I was expecting sooo much more from them...I thought ETIAW would be a Ladder to the Sun-like song but just more acoustic guitars... Instead, we get this R&B/Pop/techno crap that everyone seems to be in love with today......(And I thought that 80s music was bad!) I'm really disappointed here, coming from a guy who fell in love with the band when I first heard Yellow on the radio in 2001....Coldplay is really losing me here....it's almost depressing...:cry: Whatever happened to "intimacy with fans" that we kept hearing? They sold out to the popular crowd who enjoys really crappy music IMHO... If the whole album is like this, I may not even buy it....(that's a first) I really miss the old, emotional, deep, Coldplay....the one that used catchy piano rifs....and amazing use of lyrics....I understand you have to evolve as a band but at least keep it in the same genre to some extent!

Music nowadays generally sucks to be honest. The only things that they play anymore is R.A.P. (Retards attempting poetry) and other "heavy but tuneless" music. I'm glad that even CL which is not the most spectacular song ever, is charted. Did you hear that Chris said that LP5 was their "last big shot"? I'm scarred....:cry:

Yes, it is a bit....weird to some extent. Their worst song ever was either Ode to Deodorant or We Never Change, with A Whisper coming in a close third and A Spell A Rebel Yell taking silver.

I like the first half. The second, not so much to be honest. After listening for the 500th time.... As soon as there is that pause and he says "Christmas Lights", I don't like it anymore..... Still overall a good song, single worthy as well.

Yeah...I still have that 60 second's version of the song on my Ipod...Interesting to see that he still used those few lines from back in 2009 with only a few differences. I bet he wrote a bit here and there up until a few weeks/months ago.

True....perhaps it could end up as a B-side, or still included in the album. Afterall, CL is not going on the album....weird, that's the first single that will not be released on wither an album or an EP by them....

My rumors have been confirmed....I doubt that Wedding Bells will ever be released. Notice how Christmas Lights uses much of WB's lyrics and even the melody to an extent? Wedding Bells must have been scrapped and the left over parts given to this new song. I love CL but I still hoped for a studio version of WB......:cry:

...when you have 204 songs, spread over 40 albums (studio ablums, singles, and live concerts/unreleased fanmade albums) two whole bootlegged concerts, all b-sides, all albums ect, two albums worth of unreleased stuff, several first versions, (Amsterdam, Talk, ect) as well as haveing about 1 in 4 of your songs on your 8 gig I-touch being from them.....

I've been listening to the (only) very sketchy recording of that one song....."A View From The Top" for the past 20 minutes....I can only understand two lines in the chorus apart from the title of the song itself. But the piano/bass/drums/guitar are pretty good.....
