  1. ohhh man, i just got a text from my mobile saying i'm no longer getting free messages, so i can't text my friends to find out where we went. i'll facebook them instead, but it could take a while.
  2. wow, you didn't have much time to adjust to this! is it a problem that you are moving to here?
  3. EXACTLY!
  4. that sucks. when will you be moving?
  5. if you disappear suddenly i will know why. well i don't have anything negative at all to say about my visit to germany so i would love to go again. i'll find out where i went as well. i can ask some of the others who were on the trip too. i remember one day traveling to a castle which was absolutely stunning.
  6. the last track is better than the first track and has made me like the first a little bit more, but then at the same time wished it was the last track which was longer, and the first which was shorter.
  7. well i'm sure their new album will play better live given the potential energy in it. that could be something that takes it to the next level. there are a lot of albums that don't manage to make the transition to the studio but sound great in rehearsals and live gigs.
  8. haha, yey! i'll have two if i like the first one :p i plan to travel across europe for maybe a month sometime in the near future (next few years, once i get some money). i can't remember where i went now. i was about 14 and it was on a school trip (german class, obviously), but there was plenty of great architecture and the weather was quite nice, even though it was winter. the people were friendly too. you've honestly never heard of spotify? go see if you can download it right now!!! you probably won't be able to though i'm afraid. it streams music for free and is legal.
  9. yes. it's quite sad. if you can't be honest with yourself about art then you can't be trusted to be honest with yourself about life. after all, what's to gain from convincing yourself you like an album that you actually don't? at least sometimes with life you can lie to yourself to protect yourself. but it's always best when you don't have to do that, obviously.
  10. i could have sworn i made a thread on sparklehorse when i first came but obviously not. i met him and he seemed really sad then, about 3 or 4 years ago. got his autograph and thanked him for his performance (he was playing with daniel johnston) but he didn't seem to want to talk all too much so i gave him some space. my favourite album is 'dreamt for years...'. i've never really got into his other stuff. i just hope the hipsters don't jump on the bandwagon now he's dead. it's a little sick when that happens.
  11. yes please! just a lick i'm sure i'll go to germany sometime in the next three years. it's one of the best places i've been to. i'll start work on the playlist after i've finished listening to this album i ALWAYS forget. you said you didn't have spotify yeah?
  12. so true i haven't bought one for about 4 years when it's so easy to access music online and make your own mind up for yourself you don't really need them. they are only good for the odd interview here and there from your favourite bands, but they always get posted online anyway when it comes down to it it really doesn't matter what others think about the things you like. it isn't like a news story where somebody can write an article on it and make you look at things from another side, or put something into perspective. music is something that hits you deep inside and it either gets you or it doesn't.
  13. yeah, i'm gonna give it as much chance to win me round as possible, but it just doesn't seem to have the quality of songs or beauty of the other work they have done. so far it seems they have relied too much on the energy and lots of string arrangements that took their good songwriting to the next level, rather than the actual good songwriting itself. it just doesn't have the substance and it's why i don't have much time for u2. a few people i know who don't like them as a band have criticised them for simply being a big sound and thinking having lots of instruments can hide their bad points. i've always thought they were crazy after an amazing album followed by a very good album, but now it just feels like they've been describing this album all along
  14. lemon and yoghurt? sounds really nice, i've never tried it before. i will make us a summer playlist! and yes, cold drinks would be nice. it seems ages since there has been a warm day
  15. after getting 6 songs in i don't like the suburbs by arcade fire, even though i still really like their first two albums/ep's. i also learned that this has really disappointed me since i expected so much more.
  16. that is nice of you. you get extra points for it on the tv show! that sounds like a good plan. shall i bring my speakers for some music too? and an ice cream?
  17. i'm listening to the suburbs for the first time (never heard anything from this album since i decided to wait for the release). i'm on to track 5. i still haven't heard a song that would have got onto the other two albums. i hope it gets better.
  18. well you are welcome round another time what would you like to do today julia?
  19. now we are all warm again we should do something else!
  20. you just missed your chance to offer her a hug
  21. i enjoyed it i hope everybody else did too!
  22. oh, so you mean he's racist?
  23. who says we don't want to be blackmailed? :wink3:
  24. :laugh3: well i'm pretty sure what i said was true
